Lamb Galabah
Doug R.

Sunday morning @ 10AM and we were the first customers. This is strictly Yemeni cuisine - no Michigan diner food here. Moataz(?) was our server - rockstar. My Ful Medamas (breakfast, mashed fava bean stew) is excellent. I ordered mine with egg cooked in the stew. It arrived boiling hot in a small crock. It brought back the (few) good memories of Cairo. SWMBO ordered Lamb Gallabah. It was excellent and the portion was generous. Will we return? Yes!

All of their hot dishes were so good! This was just one plate

We were in the area for work yesterday and gave this place a try. Wow...they are so friendly and welcoming here! The place was very clean also. We opted for the lunch buffet and enjoyed a little bit of everything. All the dishes were fresh, full of flavor and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. Thank you guys for great food and service!

Every time I visit Michigan I make it a goal to visit Dearborn in order to try a new restaurant. Today I tried Sheeba and I must say it was delicious! I ordered the Fahsah and Lamb soup. Both were amazing! I loved the taste of the lamb with the Yemenese seasonings. So good! The restaurant itself was decorated well and had beautiful decorations. Our waitress was was very nice and attentive. While in the area you must try Sheeba.

I came here with my parents. The food was average I would say. The kebabs were a bit dry. The babaganoush was probably my favorite part of the meal, the bread that comes with it is amazing. The service is very good and the staff is nice. There is plenty of seating and parking.

Torn between 4 and 5 stars. I guess I'll do 4 but probably would do 4.5. The haneeth lamb and to a lesser extent chicken is amazing!!! It's like melt off the bone amazing. This is the reason I always come back. But the basically everything else that I've tried at least is not that great compared to the Lebanese version: fattoush, bread, rice, garlic sauce. Maybe it's just this restaurant or maybe I just don't like the Yemeni version. The service is friendly.

Family platter for 8

I wasn't too happy with the food. The food had no flavor almost. Their mixed family platter is way way over priced for $200 plus it has no flavor. So flavorless and some kabobs were burnt. Their lamb platter was just a little better but still not worth 200 but more like 60bucks. this one in picture was not good at all. The place is super expensive and food quality is not as good. In conclusion Worst food I ever tried.

Baba Ghanouj and Falafel

My first taste of Yemeni food was at this location of Sheeba Restaurant, coincidentally during Dearborn Restaurant Week 2022. The food made such a solid impression that since then, I have visited several other Yemeni restaurants and been to this and the East Dearborn Sheeba several times. During Dearborn Restaurant Week 2024, I decided to revisit Sheeba as my first stop of the week. Surprisingly, the offerings remained exactly the same as in 2022. Somehow, Sheeba has managed to keep prices down through all the inflation in the previous years. We both got the $15 special, which comes with a drink, a choice of three appetizers - Falafel, Baba, or Hummus, and one of two mains - Half Chicken Haneeth or Fahsah. Falafel - This is a mini order of 3 falafel on a bed of greens. The falafel aren't fried all that well; the exterior is mostly dry but barely crisp. The chickpeas are more coarsely ground, resulting in an interior that has a more crumbly (but moist) mouthfeel. They don't mix many herbs in the falafel, so it's missing some of the fresh notes that help balance out the salty/sesame/chickpea flavor. The falafel are supposed to come with tahini and tomato, but we didn't receive either. (3/5) Baba Ghanouj - This is quite a chunky baba with larger pieces of tender eggplant mixed in with pureed chickpeas. They mill the eggplant quite well so there's barely any seeds mixed in. The eggplant has a slight hint of char, but not nearly as much as other places. (4/5) Note: The appetizers come with one piece of rashush which they will charge you $1 extra for. This is not noted on the menu at all. Chicken Haneeth, Half - The chicken is fall off the bone tender with a great char on the exterior and a somewhat smoky flavor. The interior meat is salty and tastes of fresh chicken. The texture is somewhat too tender and renders the chicken a bit sticky, like it kind of sticks to the teeth as you chew. The chicken comes on one side of a mound of yellow rice, which is fluffy and perfectly cooked and seasoned. On the other side rests a number of potatoes cooked in a savory tomato base The potatoes are quite dense but cooked until tender. A container of sahawiq is served on the side that adds a salsa-like bright herbal freshness and a bit of spiciness. (4/5) Fahsah - This is probably my favorite dish at Sheeba - I've always ordered it through my multiple visits. The fahsah is made with shredded lamb mixed with mashed potato with the meat having only the barest hint of lamb gaminess (this location is quite consistent with the flavor, but the one in East Dearborn sometimes tastes very gamey). It's very tender and doesn't get caught in your teeth as you chew. The dish is served in a clay pot, still bubbling when it arrives at the table, and it continues to bubble for quite a while afterwards - I've never succeeded to not to burn my tongue due to impatience. The bubbling action creates a delicious crust along the bottom of the pot that requires a bit of work to scrape up with a spoon. There's a thick layer of oil on top that is red-orange from the spices, but surprisingly the dish doesn't taste that greasy. It's served with one piece of rashush that is fresh baked, with some charred bubbly crispy bits and some chewy bits. The bread is studded with nigella seeds, lending a pleasing earthiness. (5/5) Overall I've found the main entrees to be delicious but the mezze to be only okay to good. Since eating at Sheeba the first time, we've expanded to eating at other traditional Yemeni places and I have to say that Sheeba is definitely a bit more Westernized than those places. Not saying that's bad - Sheeba is still a great stop in Dearborn if you're looking to try something a bit different from all the Lebanese places around. Bathrooms - Men's room has two stalls and two urinals. Women's room has three stalls. Overall rating of the food this visit: 4/5

This place is a pleasant surprise and the food is very tasty and savory. It is a Yemeni restaurant and the food is a little spicy but very flavorful. A lot of the meats are lamb and it was a great experience overall. The salad was very fresh and surprisingly much bigger than expected. The hafsa? Is served in a clay bowl and one of their specialties. Safe bet is to take the family plate that serves either four or eight people as it includes several of their most famous dishes.

Went to this place with couple of friends! We ordered chicken zurbian rice , sambosa , frise and hummus. The rice came with meat soup. The rice was delicious, tasty and tender. The chicken is already mixed up with the rice. It tasted good But the rice arrived a little bit cold. The samosa is one of my favorite. Very good! I wasn't a big fan of the soup but the frise and the hummus was great replacement for me. We paid around $33 for everything! Which was a good deal. Yes I might come here again.

Chicken ogda in the back pot - need to specially request the black pot!
Lissa B.

A Yemeni friend recommended Sheeba and it was amazing!!! The food was incredible, staff very nice, and atmosphere nice. We got the usual favorites: chicken ogda, lamb mandi, maraq soup, salad, fresh lemon juice, fresh bread, and sahawiq sauce. The chicken ogda first came out in just a plate but I asked if it's possible in the black pot and they kindly brought it back simmering in the black pot. The staff were not at all bothered and seemed happy to do this. So nice! Thank you! Overall, just so amazing. Highly recommended to try it! If you aren't sure what to order, you can show my photos to order, seems they don't have a paper menu anyway. It's the best food! Go try it!!

Came here with friends to have a lunch. There is a decent parking outside so parking was not an issue. We ordered few different dishes so we can get the full experience. Among my favorite choices was their Haneeth. The rice was delicious and their meat was so soft and tender. Their service though needs little attention. We had to ask several times for things that we ordered and they didn't get our order right. Also no one attended our table for a solid 20mins. I hope that changes in the future because the food is really good

Bread and hummus
Vincent L.

Wonderful Arabic (Yemeni) food. Each plate is like two servings so beware. If you like chicken or lamb with rice then this is a good place for you. It is not like other Arabic (Lebanese) restaurants that are very common in Detroit. Try their bread with hummus

Soup is always cold, salad is disgusting. Meat is dry. This place is an over rated restaurant in Dearborn. I don't recommend it at all.

Nice place good food. But the service sucks. The manager kept yelling at the waitress or his wife I'm not sure and the staff is very slow.

I did enter through the rear of the establishment since I parked there. The menu is pretty extensive. Ended up getting the half order of hummus. A basket of warm pita and two sauces came out. I initially thought that was the pita. This was complimentary I believe. The garlic sauce is solid. The other one is a spicy sauce of some sort. This spicy one was super good. The hummus came out. Very smooth and flavorful. For my entree, I got the Shish Kafta. You can choose between lamb or chicken. I went with the chicken with a side of rice and my choice of soup or salad. I opted for the lentil soup. That came out piping hot. This was delicious. Flavorful and good texture. My entree came out and wow. The portion is way more than what you pay for. Came with 4 very huge blocks of chicken kefta. Nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Had a nice char on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. I used the two sauces from earlier to give it an extra kick. I washed it all down with a mint lemonade. This was absolutely refreshing. Clean place, very good food and the customer service was solid.

We were also looking for vegetarian options for a colleague that I was with. In a cool part of town, Himalayan Flames is right in the middle of a bustling area full of shops and restaurants. On this particular weeknight, the area was fairly busy. There's some parking on the street but there's also a huge parking lot behind the block that Himalayan Flames is on, so go on back there and find a spot. There are signs on the back of the building you guiding you to a back entrance which leads to a number of different businesses. You'll find the entrance to Himalayan Flames towards the front of the building. We were seated right away and began browsing the menu. Not a huge place, but cozy and nicely decorated. Cool vibe. I opted for the Lamb Korma and Garlic Naan bread. Outstanding on both fronts. The Lamb Korma was full of flavor and perfectly spiced for my taste. I forget the spice level options, but go with what you know. Whatever I asked for was perfect. Lamb was tender and tasty. Combine that with the edible scoop that you can make out of the Naan bread and you're set. Would I go back? Without question. I highly recommend giving Himalayan Flames a shot and check out their flavor filled menu with options for everyone. We were impressed and hopefully you will be also.

Let's just grab a quick bite. I didn't know what to order so I ordered the Ontario and an iced caramel latte. Once the sandwich came out I thought," Hmm looks good." Then I took a single bite and OMG. The toasted crunch, the chipotle sauce, the perfectly sou vided chicken breast, and melted cheese...it was just an explosion of favor! Ordered carry out. crushed lentil bowl, chicken kafta, two sides: small hummus, small baba ghanouj, large fattoush salad with no pita. $38.13 Food takes about 15 minutes to be ready. Drove all the way back to the office. My chicken kafta looks to be lamb, not at all what I ordered. My large fattoush is covered in pita chips. Had to spend several minutes getting every pita chip out of the salad. It's good I am not allergic to gluten. They shove the dressing packet in the corner of the salad, so you get a bit less, that and the pita chips. Other than that, the salad was fine. I am quite disappointed the order is not right! The crushed lentil soup has a lot of rice in it, which is just filler to me. Has some clumps of something, may be rice and starch? It's too inconvenient to drive all the way back. Do be sure to check your carry out order before you leave the place. The crushed lentil is quite bland, not much flavor to it. Tastes some fennel, quite a few clumps of starch. The soup is more rice than lentil. I could count on one hand how many traces of lentil was in my bowl of soup. What in the world? My husband ate the lamb kafta, since I don't eat red meat. He said it was so-so, but rather dry.
