They also did a great job insulating my attic - passed Austin Energy inspection on the 1st try - and relocating my condensers from the side yard to the backyard. The new 3-ton Daikin recommended by Alan for our downstairs has worked great so far - much quieter and cooler than our old system. Both Alan and Ricky were both very helpful, informative and definitely had my best interests at heart. Alan did not try to sell me any additional products that I did not need. He suggested an additional return air vent to help my system's air flow. This solved the problem my house was having not cooling the downstairs effectively. And Alan solved this problem without trying to sell me a $3300 zone damper system. Another company tried to sell me on that zone damper system. They did not get my business. Alan and Ricky both had some great ideas on how to make my system run more efficiently. They suggested I seal up some gaps in my air vents and make sure that there are no gaps in my attic insulation. I always have lots of questions about this kind of stuff and they patiently and honestly answered every question I had. The actual installation went efficiently and without incident. I was only without air conditioning for about 3 hours. Ricky and a helper got the system in, explained a few things about how the new unit worked and got my new thermostat up and running. They got rid of the old ac, furnace and the old condenser. They did a wonderful job cleaning up after themselves. I did not have to pick up a single piece of trash or anything after they were all done. I think the hallway they were working in was actually cleaner after they had finished up. Give these guys a try. They are awesome. They are honest and will take care of you for a very reasonable amount of money. There are a lot of HVAC companies out there, I've done my research. If you're stumbling upon Stryker look no further and highly consider them. At least let them come out and look at what your needs are. No loss there, right? Brent knows what he's talking about and his biggest concern seems to be quality work and to meet your needs while providing a great customer experience. The handling unit in my attic had rusted condensation coils. Another company came out and told me the unit was "oversized" for my house and the plenum was undersized and this caused my coils to have too much pressure and broke one of the lines and freon was leaking out contributing to condensation causing rusting. A 14K solution was recommended to me. I wanted a second opinion and took a chance on Stryker. Brent thoroughly looked at EVERYTHING and determined that the problem was actually from the original install 10 years ago when the home was built. The drain from the condensation on the handling unit wasn't piped in quite the right way (original install problem). This wouldn't have really been a problem because there's a back-up to allow condensation to drain off the unit. However, I wasn't performing regular cleaning maintenance and that drain pipe clogged causing my coil to rust. Since I was happy with the air quality and the cooling of the house, Brent recommended just replacing the rusted coil on the handler and re-piping it and performing annual cleaning. I saved almost 10k. Brent could have underbid the other company and made out like a fat rat, but he didn't take advantage of my HVAC ignorance. When you find a company like this, it seems like a true gem. I wish every business had his standards.

They came about 5:30 pm, worked about an hour, said it was fixed and charged me $232 for labor and overtime. It quit later and I called several times on Saturday. The owner, Gary Bowien, showed up about 4:30 pm.When I tried to explain the problem he said " I am the owner. I know what I'm doing !". He worked a couple of hours and said it was fixed and it had nothing to do with the water leak. He charged me again for the call. I had explained I was 82years old, disabled,in poor health and could not go without air conditioning in 102 degree weather. It quit again 30 minutes later. He never returned anymore calls that weekend and I had to get another co. to fix it after 3 days with no AC . Total outlay $720. He may be the owner but he doesn't know what he is doing!

The most cost effective solution was to run a new vent thru the attic. Stephen and his son were great. Great service, super responsive, left a clean garage before leaving- awesome! Didn't charge me, I thought wow, this guy is a guy who wants to be around for a while. Problem is that we scheduled the cleaning my 4 units and he never showed up. I want to be clear, these units are filthy! Some of them actually had dirt shovelled into them by terrible plumbers. They are running non-stop as a result and one of them recently blew a fan motor. When I followed up 4 separate times, Stephen literally said that other peoples' ACs had actually died but mine hadn't yet. and kept cancelling and pushing my service date back again and again. Really? I want to FIX my units so that they DON'T die! I've also purchased a $thousand dollars worth of misting systems for the units that I can't install until AFTER they are cleaned! When I called Stephen out on breaking his word, his CLASSY response was to tell me to find someone else to help me because he had "real emergencies" to deal with. Nothing like being talked down to by someone you're trying to pay to do a job that they've asked you for. As a business owner I have to trust that the tradespeople I deal with will show up on time and do the job that they say that they're going to do. This guy acts like he's rescheduling surgeries based upon triage, like George Clooney on ER! Go ahead and call him, he's a very sweet man and talks a great game. Just understand that there is a VERY good chance that he won't show up unless your units are already dead. And we know what that means: MONEY!! His word is useless, unless your AC units have died.
