I was very excited when I learned ShareTea was opening another location in the Seattle area. I ordered the QQ Happy Family Milk Tea and my husband ordered the ice cream green milk tea. Now what exactly is this QQ Happy Family Milk Tea and what kind of a name is that?! After trying to get the attention of several baristas one finally told me it's a regular milk tea but with all the toppings! Toppings are 25 cents each. The ice cream milk tea did not skimp on the ice cream either. We got to choose the level of sweetness and the amount of ice. Also got a stamp card as we'll be back (stamp card can only be used at this location). Overall the taste was good. At $4-$4.50 it's not exactly cheap. This place has ALWAYS had long lines out the door and down the sidewalk since they opened years ago! They must be pretty popular with the majority of the people in our community to constantly have long lines! Now the lines seems longer due to COVID social distance spacing requirements. BUT...that's not the reason for 3 stars! I have always had a difficult time hearing the employees when they speak, even if I say I am hard of hearing (which I am not) they still do not speak up. Now with the added plastic barrier for the staff's viral protection, which they ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY DESERVE, it is that much more difficult to hear them!! Next on the list is customer service and "friendliness" of the staff or service of the business. Of those, that I have had interactions with, seem to be lacking customer service skills in general, they appear to be truly "unfriendly," they do not greet you with a smile and have never thank me for my order; they also do everything they can to rush you along. I have forgotten to order a drink for one of the people in the group I was placing an order for partially due to their "rushed atmosphere", partially due to the employees attitude, and I do take some responsibility, too, as I did not check my list before paying for the order. I have never received the tea I placed the ordered for; I always take a few drinks only to realize they left out something, typically the additional sweetener, or used regular cream/milk instead of coconut milk or rice milk. The regular milk or cream mistake is quite detrimental on those of us who are lactose intolerant, especially when we are not equipped to deal with it at that time or now during COVID stage 1 & 2 closures, when the local businesses are not allowing the public to use their bathrooms!!! So, the 3 stars are for cleanliness, the amount of employees they have seems appropriate (even though they still feel they need to rush people through), they will fix your order for free when they make a mistake, and when I do get the tea I ordered (even after they've corrected the mistake) it's DELICIOUS tea!! I only go back because 1) I am with someone who has never been and wants to try them, I will not deny or try to sway my friends with my personal opinions No Bullying Here! (I say "check Yelp, what do they say?"). 2) I am just jonesing for a caffeinated drink and don't want coffee AND happen to be within walking distance of them. I cried before going in.... They had a location in NYC and they closed about 5 years ago. So we hunted this location down in Washington state! Before going in there's was a long line from inside to outside... That's the first sign when a place is doing their bubble tea right! These were locals and locals know the right spots. Yes my tea was EVERYTHING I DREAMED OF AND MORE! Back then I wasn't into the tapioca pearls yet and since I've become very familiar with good and bad bubbles. Their bubbles had the right texture, right balance of sweetness and their tea is exactly how I remembered it. No playing around but some serious tea with juice and fruits floating inside for some nice chomping texture. The lychee jelly was also on point, fresh and juicy. They're not into artificial stuff, their stuff is the real deal which is why of all 3 visits there was always a line to outside. We don't have Sharetea up north where I live so this was a pleasant surprise. We love our bubble tea but are also a bit snobbish when choosing where to go. Can I say WOW? Cause this place is awesome! (It might give young tea a run for its money). Decor is very cute and minimalist; cute posters that describes some of the drinks on the menu. I like how they have pictures of the creamas because it tells you what's in it. Not too much seating so maybe take your bubble tea to go! Service was GREAT. The girl was super helpful when my sister couldn't decide on what she wanted. She listed out all the popular ones, which ones to get if you want something lighter and etc. The older guy that works there (the manager of both share teas I think) even came out and asked us how our drinks were. I got the regular black milk tea with tapioca with normal sugar and less ice. AMAZING. Boba was nice and chewy but not too soft and the milk tea was delicious! Perfect amount of sweetness. Ah. I love this concept but this location is always crazy busy. On top of that, the staff doesn't seem to like to answer questions and they want to just get you through the line. I'll admit I'm not super knowledgeable about boba and these types of drinks in general so I would like to be able to ask questions about what I'm ordering. So, I'm not going to claim to be an expert at bubble tea businesses, however I do feel based upon my experience of having bubble teas through out king county that this place truly deserves 5 stars. I can't speak for the other sharetea locations but the Renton location has always been fast service, friendly staff and clean. I appreciate that their boba have a very pleasant texture without having too much firmness in the center but not being mush. This is important to me because I enjoy the aspect of the perfect chewiness to accompany my cold tea beverage. What's even more amazing is that they offer a spectacular variety of drink options spanning from slushy to milk based or more indulgent dessert feeling drinks made with ice creams. The unique quality that I've appreciated about this place is that they offer red bean as an ingredient which I must say gives the tea a perfect sweetness, richness and starchy texture which is perfect for Asian based sweets. I'm looking forward to coming here a few more times before the summer ends and then again whenever I'm around. Hype beast or not, this place got some bomb ass "bubble tea". lol Consistency is probably what keeps me coming here. Every single time I order my drink, it tastes the same (in a good way). They have literally never gotten my order wrong. lol The crema drinks here are my favorite. I recommend the cocoa or green tea crema with 50% sugar. It's sweet AF already, you don't need more than 50%, for real. Ha! Also, the strawberry smoothie with ice cream and lycee jelly is BOMB! One thing I love about ShareTea is the consistency. I've had ShareTea in both WA and CA and all of the locations are comparable in greatness. Easy parking since it's in The Landing. Lines can get a little long during the summertime.The store gets hot in the summertime and there are only like 4 bar stools in the cramped space anyways, so plan on taking your boba on a walk which is what I do most of the time anyways. Needed an afternoon pick me up before my doctor's appointment today. Walked in with no line surprisingly! Usually there's at least 5 to 6 people in front of me, but this time just one. The cashier Michelle was nice, friendly, and fast. I ordered the Mango Green Tea with mini boba and my Husband ordered their Pineapple Green Tea with rainbow jelly. I've been really into teas lately because of this nice weather we've been having. Gets me in summer vibes. This is the first time I've had a fruit tea here. I usually get the Hokkaido Milk Tea with boba. The only thing that disappointed me about this drink is the mini boba... they unfortunately weren't cooked well. This is why they are getting 4/5 stars. I got an abundance of mini boba in my drink and every sip has par cooked boba which isn't a good thing. You have this soft outside but the inside is hard like a seed and it's just unsatisfying to chew so I have to spit it out.. with having to spend an extra 50 cents for something that isn't prepared properly makes the drink unappetizing. The mango green tea itself is good. The very few mango bits it has is yummy and the flavor is not too sweet at all. Really wish my boba was cooked right because then this drink would be so much more enjoyable. The Pineapple tea is so good! You get nice bite size chunks of pineapple in every sip and a good amount of rainbow jelly as well. It is quite refreshing and kind of reminds me of a pina colada. Which I love! Overall the experience was good especially because we got our order less than 10 minutes. Hopefully next time I get mini boba they'll be thoroughly cooked. Came here on a Sunday night one of the super hotttt weekends. It was pretty busy with a consistent line out the door. But man...that "fan" thing they have inside is pointless because it was just recycling hot air..feel bad for the employees. Coffee milk tea, taro shake, and the drinks with crema are all very good, but my favorite is the whole lemon black tea with boba and 30% sugar (tart tongue!). I have been here so many times, I can't believe it's taken me so long to write a review! This place is fantastic. I'm glad I don't live any closer, as I would be spending far more money and probably gaining some weight from all the drinks I'd order. Overall, you really can't go wrong with any drink here. They have delicious bubble teas with good and efficient service. I have to say that I am somewhat addicted to their fresh taro milk tea, which is slightly more expensive than the powdered taro milk tea (by 50 cents, I believe), but well worth it. As for their add-ins, I like their coffee jelly, their herbal jelly, and their classic tapioca pearls (always perfectly done with a nice amount of chew - not too firm, not too soft). I do recommend that you get your drinks not more than 50% sweet, or else they can get a little cloying. I have a pretty sweet tooth but I can't even imagine what a full sweetness drink would be like, since I sometimes get the slightly sweet (25% sugar) option. Their cremas are teas with a slightly salty whipped cream which is absolutely fantastic in combination with their oolong. Their yakult drink also has a great harmony of flavors and nice balance between sweet, tart, and fresh. My drink was fine, but the customer service stinks. They have signs posted on their plexiglass telling the customers to speak up and repeat several times. In the meantime, the music is just blasting and you can't hear anything the counter person says. Nothing says "It's not us, it's you" more than that. Ok seriously..... this place is life. It's like they are in your brain and have already thought of whatever crazy combination of bubble tea you ever thought of. At 9:30pm there was a line out the door. Wait in it! It's worth every second and more! They have menus everywhere showing you how to order each thing. You can add pudding, add aloe Vera, subtract sweetener, add ice, when I say you can order anything here I mean it! They are so friendly and patient and answer any questions you have! I like boba tea. However, I just didn't think that this place was anything special. The drinks are just like the ones I have tried at Oasis. The services rush him there seems to be no tables to sit down and really enjoy your drink. On hot days, the lines from outside the door and you can wait for an hour before you finally get to order. The staff are all young and not real keen on customer service. Will I come back? Yes. It is conveniently located to Papaya, one of my favorite restaurant. This place was recommended to me by my roommate. I just assumed that all bubble tea places were one in the same. This place definitely stood out to me. At first I was a little overwhelmed by the selection and order process but in the end it turned out to be what I have always wanted. To be able to customize not only the toppings but also be able to choose your ice level, sweetness level, identify non-caffeinated drink and an option to have it hot. I'm not a big fan of super sweet drinks so the ability to choose my sweetest level won me over. I've thrown away or not finish my bubble tea before because of this reason. We come here a lot. The owners are always in the back with their great staff. Every drink is adjustable to your taste so it's amazing every time.
