Such a cozy and fun atmosphere. We wandered in here while exploring the cute town of Marietta. They had just made last call, but welcomed us anyway! We did not get a chance to try any food, but we will definitely be back to. Our bartender was very sweet. I ordwred the mango habanero cider. It was unique (definitely has a kick!) and I did like it, but it was hard to drink the entire thing because of the sweetness. We also were able to sit by the fire while we drank. Best part- we got to meet and chat with Mr. Shank himself! You should definitely make the time to stop it, you won't regret it!

New vegan options! Black bean burger wrap with hummus and the lentil and vegetable wrap (along with other easily modifiable options). Reasonably priced drinks and live music many nights. This has become my favorite haunt in town and you can find me here a few days a week (unless you're my enemy, then I go elsewhere - yeah look for me elsewhere).

We happened upon Marietta Tavern on Market and decided to try it out. I have lived here for 3 years and haven't been here yet so I wasn't sure what to expect. Holy smokes!! I'll be back!! It's a cute little space, very cozy. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table. We were informed that due to the town event for the day it would be a limited menu. The menu we were handed didn't look limited at all. I can't wait to see the full menu on my next visit! I had the pumpkin praline French toast bake with caramel and a side of bacon. I'm not typically a pumpkin kinda girl but this was so amazing. The flavors were perfect and not overpowering. My sister-in-law had a crock of French onion soup that she said was the best she's ever had. It sure did smell delicious. She also had a steak tip Caesar salad. Service was great, attentive, friendly. I can't say enough good things about our first impression but I'm happy to support a hometown establishment that has delicious food and great service. I'll be back!

They have a covered patio as well as an open area closer to the bar- lots of outdoor space. The food took a little bit to come out but they were understaffed. The food was DELICIOUS! We had mild wings, pretzel sticks and the famous PB burger. Everything was fresh and hot and perfectly seasoned. I'll say these were the best wings I've had in PA! My wife had the fish and chips. Food was good and plentiful. Service was very good, ate with some old friends, there was no rush, they gave us plenty of space. It sounds bold, and it is, but it works beautifully. The broth is rich and deeply savory, the cheese pull is perfect, and the crispy rings add a texture you never knew the classic was missing. The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.
