Great place in the middle of nowhere! Renting a cabin nearby, relied on Yelp for recommendations- and did not disappoint. Did not expect wonderfully spicy jalapeño margaritas, blackberry mojitos, and other craft cocktails from what kinda looks like a dive bar. Crab balls quite tasty. I never was in this establishment before had no idea what to expect. They definitely didn't expect a verified food critic to stop by lol. The out door sitting was nice. The waiter was exceptionally. Didn't realize I had to get my own refill on waters kinda of a bummer no one told me. The food was very tasty though. Kinda knocked my socks off lol. ***FROGTOWN WANTS YOU TO SEE THIS*** I tried to order a chicken wrap but the bartender told me they don't have wraps on the menu, haven't had them for a few years. I went with the blackened chicken sandwich, it was 5* delicious. I was drinking a long Island iced tea and that was also delicious, another server came up and refilled my drink and the way she made it was just as good as the bartender! Great atmosphere inside the bar, it's the type of place where you can talk to anyone and make a friend. Hey we are Covid survivors we deserve a nice place to relax and have some good drinks and great food. Definetely stop in Wednesdays for their steak night! They offer a 10pz top sirloin or a 14oz ribeye that absolutely melts in your mouth!! You get a side salad and an augratin potato with it. This is a cool little mom/pop place. Locals love it. We were there on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Our company knew the server, so the service was excellent. The pizza and wings were all excellent. They have good beer. The place can be a bit loud. The only thing that prevents me from giving it five stars is the roofers who were hammering on the roof, during the dining hour constantly. It was almost like they wanted to irritate us. Frogtown Cafe was suggested to us by the custodian at the hotel we stayed in. That being said because the place is off the beaten path but a major local favorite. The place looks rough but don't let that deter you. It's a bar/restaurant, complete with pool table, and jukebox. When we got there the place was packed. The staff, and the locals, where very friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional and orders could be customized . It's a casual place indeed so I suggest coming in and relaxing to a good meal and a few drinks. My kind of place. read more

This little gem came recommended for mother reviews so I knew I just had to try the crab balls and the steaks, and I was not disappointed. I have been searching this areas for a place that makes a good steak like in Philly and these guys do a decent job not only that but their chef makes amazing sauces, great marinara, and the crumbles had this fantastic horseradish sauce. They also give you loaded fries if you want, which are very good, and the prices are As other people have mentioned you can get pretty noisy pretty crowded. We got in there early like just at five and someone is having a birthday party at the bar. Got to a point where we couldn't hear each other by about 7 PM and we were all the way on the other side in the dining room It's a fantastic old school country Tavern place and we highly recommend it and will be back. I saw some blackened, salmon and chicken on the menu and other things that we'd like to try they do have specials all the time and the service is fantastic. We sat at the bar and had dinner on a Friday night. Barmaid was friendly. I had a beer and my wife got an Orange Crush. I don't think they're freshly made because the bartender grabbed a gallon jug of orange juice from the cooler. Other places slice and juice the oranges in front of the customer when the drink is ordered. That's what's known as a freshly squeezed Orange Crush. My wife said it wasn't good. She drank half of it and then ordered a beer. I had Wahoo fish tacos that were a special that night. They were very good. My wife had a roast beef sandwich that was also a special. She was asked if she wanted cheese and horseradish. The sandwich was not very good. It was small and lacked flavor. When we got the bill we saw that the sandwich was $16! $14 for the sandwich and a dollar up charge each for the cheese and horseradish. The roast beef sandwich at The Lucky Dog is huge, comes with au jus and horseradish, and only costs $10. Two of the barmaids took drinking glasses and rather than use an ice scoop to add ice, plunged the glasses in to the ice bin. This is unacceptable for two reasons. Their hand makes contact with the ice and has contaminated the ice bin. Also there is a risk of chipping the glass and leaving a shard of glass in the bin which could eventually end up in a customer's drink. I knew a bar manager that claimed he would fire an employee if he saw them do that. Let's face it. It's just plain lazy not to use a scoop and do it the right way. read more

We want to like this place, but we struggle in to counts. 1). They cannot flip tables. I don't know if it's the service, the kitchen, or just people don't get up, but take what you'd normally wait at another restaurant and add 15-20 mins. 2). You definitely get a southern Lancaster county clique feeling. This is a close community and everyone knows everyone, so if you're not in that clique, you feel it. Don't know what I am talking about? Congrats, that means you're in the clique. I said we struggle with this place and the reason is the food. Any other place with the aforementioned issues for us, we'd write them off. However, the food is above a lot of other places. Really good. So I suggest you try it. You'll like the food if you can get passed #1 and #2 above. read more

The Frogtown Cafe has friendly, helpful staff that go out of the way to make sure your visit is memorable. Our bartender Cory is a ball of fire zipping around ensuring each customer is happy. Wednesday evening is half off whole pizzas so we took advantage of this popular promotion. My wife and I ordered a large Buffalo Chicken pie and our table mates ordered a large Vege Pizza. Now I will share with you that I am very critical of anyone's pizza offering as Pizza is my favorite food. On a scale of 1-10 I score this a solid 9. Scoring a 10 is reserved for pizza in Italy so I give Frogtown my highest US rating. The crust was thin with a nice chew and is crisp! With just the right amount of savory tomato sauce, cheese, buffalo sauce and chicken. A very solid offering packed with flavor. Our friends Vege Pizza share the same high marks as well. I was impressed more so because The Frogtown was packed with Customers waiting for tables yet the hard working kitchen crew delivered great tasting dishes all evening. Hats off to the crew as it was one of the hottest days of the year! My only negative revolves around the noise level which made it difficult to enjoy a conversation with our friends. This can be rectified easily by turning down the music which by our standards was excessive. Kudos to Cory, kitchen staff, and management of The Frogtown for providing such great service and food! This was hard to give this place only 3stars and it has nothing to do with the food. The food is always good here no matter when we go. We got our food in very good timing. However our waitress was very rude, took forever and was sitting down talking to people before she even came over to us and asked if we needed anything or wanted our check. It took us 35minutes if waiting for our check that we had to ask the other waitress for our check. And we still didn't get it she went over to our waitress and she continued to sit there and talk. Very rude and so unprofessional. This makes me not wanna go back which is a shame because the food is so good. When we looked at the check it didn't say her name which is wrong. read more

I'm not typically one for divey bars out in the country, but the Frogtown was a great stop for a Friday night dinner last week. When we first walked in, our waitress told us it would be a short wait, but later took drink orders while we were waiting and made sure we were updated on how long it would be. Some others at table wanted pizza, but I opted for the apple salad, one of their only vegetarian options. It would be great if they had a veggie burger available. The place was pretty packed and it seemed like a neighborhood place because everyone knew each other. Our waitress gave excellent service and everyone liked their food. They don't have a full menu posted anywhere online, but they post some really interesting dinner specials on Facebook occasionally. read more

Went here with my boyfriend on a Sunday evening after a hike. We were both pretty hungry and the taco special (although cheap) didn't seem like it would be very filling. Even though it was a bit pricey, we settled on a large stromboli figuring it would be enough to fill us up and we'd be able to take home some leftovers. When the food came out, I could instantly see the disappointment in his eyes. It was the smallest large stromboli we'd ever seen. It was tasty, but we ate the whole thing and still had room for more. Oh well, lesson learned. I guess we should have gone with the taco special. I would go back if I was in the area again because the service was great and the beer not too pricey, but I'll leave Italian food to the pizza shops. read more

This place is a mile from our house but we haven't been here for about 8 years. Our last experience was that terrible. But on a hot July 4th we decided to give it another chance based upon online reviews. And we were surprised. The service was good and so was the food. My partner had a pulled pork wrap with coleslaw. She'd recommends that the coleslaw be on the side rather than in the wrap as it tended to overwhelm the pork. I had a Frogtown burger which was juicy but lacking in the charbroil crust. Still I would rate it above average. We tried both the fresh cut fries and the batter dipped fries. The fresh cut were a clear winner--rich greasy and oh so fattening. The batter dipped were more typical fries. This is a divey bar with the typical domestic beers on draught but they did have one microbrew IPA. They seem to be moving toward more craft beer in bottles since they a craft brew night. They have a pool table. Waitress service was very good but the kitchen was a bit slow.
