My friend and I came here on a Friday night. There were 4 other tables here. First of all, it took us a long time to get drinks. I ordered a plain water and was parched! It was at least 15 minutes till we got our drinks. My friend asked for ground beef tacos (which they did not have), Mountain Dew (did not have), and cheese sauce (nope, not this either). So, the selections are a bit limited compared to other Mexican restaurants we have been to. The tacos were just ok. Nothing special - I've had better. I was really disappointed because I had high expectations due to the good reviews. If you're in Lancaster, don't come here for the tacos. Maybe check out the Ethiopian or Chinese restaurant in the same complex. They did have flan or tres leches for dessert but by this point, we were too disappointed to order more. Each taco was 3.50-3.95 so my total meal only came out to around $11.

We've continued to stop in whenever we're in the Lancaster, PA area and El Pueblito continues to deliver delicious Mexican food for reasonable prices. Their tacos, tamales and menudo are our favorites and it's nice to have a selection of sodas from Mexico to wash down the meal. Space is a little tight since the dining area is in the market but the service is friendly and efficient. Looking forward to our next visit already!

Excellent Latino Mexican mini market and restaurant. The store while small it has many of the items we usually need to prepare Mexican meals. Buy enough items and they give a reusable grocery bag. The staff is superb, friendly and fast. Plenty plaza parking. The restaurant towards the back of the store is inviting, with some 5 tables and a bar for around 8 people. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and it was somewhat busy but my order was taken quickly and my food came out in no time. Very flavorful food and the items I had were authentic Mexican. I usually prefer the tacos , but this time the sope was the winner. It was delicious. My taco and torta were excellent as well. Please tip your server accordingly. In weekends they have specialty items. Yesterday they had seafood soup (caldo de mariscos), lamb stew, and goat stew (birria). I loved the place and experience and will be back often to continue tasting more items.

I wasn't sure what to expect, and knowing there were only a few tables I hesitated to go on a weekend evening, but so glad that we gambled. We definitely won! The food was fresh and delicious! Not sure what to do exactly, so we ventured to the back of the store, grabbed a few menus and found an open table - yes there are only a few and it's a small space. Our server quickly found us and helped us navigate the menu, bringing waters out quickly. The chips were hot and obviously made to order, guacamole was tasty. The regulars were definitely enjoying their food and it all looked delicious! Seats turned over quickly, but it was obvious that they do a lot of take out, the phone rang off the hook and the register was quite busy. Hot fresh tamale's were at the front register and packaged only upon pick up. Call ahead though if you want those, apparently they sell out. This is also a small grocery store, the shelves are full of authentic ingredients and the cooler is stocked with Mexican sodas and real cane syrup Coke in the glass bottle! Friendly people, delicious food, you really can't go wrong!

This place has some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. It doesn't matter what you get tacos, burritos, enchiladas, it's all good! I always order out but I've been in shopping before and you can get most Hispanic foods. Definitely looks sketchy from the outside but don't be scared, the food is so good and the folks are nice. I highly recommend chorizo tacos!

My wife and I had lunch here last Thursday, The service was fine and the food excellent. We each had a different type of sandwich and we will be eating here at least on a weekly basis. I would suggest eating here after the lunch hour as we had to wait in line for 30 minutes to pay for our food. It is a popular place for local workers to order their take-out lunch orders...so you know the food must be good. It was well worth the wait.

This is a small restaurant inside a Mexican grocery store. I came with 10 people. We tried every taco on the menu. The group rated this place a 3.89. Overall I found the execution of the tacos and enchiladas to be pretty good. But the food lacked interesting flavors. I found the tacos to just be decent tacos. The lamb barbacoa taco I remember being well-executed and tender on the bite.

Excellent and affordable. It's in the back of a nice and clean grocery store, the dining area is pleasant enough and the service was immediate. The chips were not free and don't come ahead of time but they were worth paying for. The guacamole was really nice and the salsas were great. I went straight for the cow cheek and tripe tacos and I've never had better. My table had carnitas tacos and enchiladas and raved about both. Worth a trip or detour any day, this is my new favourite Mexican restaurant

Horrible food. Food tasted very poor quality and cheap. Service sucks. They probably got family to give them good ratings.

5 Stars - Something Truly Special…read more This place is something special. A friend of mine told me about it -- and he is not easy to impress when it comes to restaurants. He's usually the guy who finds something to critique. So when he described this place as "incredible," "authentic," "unbelievable," and "special," I honestly couldn't believe how highly he was praising it. Then I went. I was absolutely blown away. From the moment I walked in, the energy felt warm and welcoming. The service wasn't just good -- it was genuine. The staff treated me like family. They kept bringing out dishes for me to try, excited to share their food. I didn't even pay for some of it -- and I actually insisted on paying because it was just too good not to. (And yes... I wanted more.) The food? Incredible. Authentic Honduran cooking that completely won me over. I'm from New York City, where you're spoiled with diversity and world-class restaurants on every corner. Lancaster has some solid spots, but this? This competes with -- and honestly beats -- many places I've had in NYC. I genuinely couldn't believe it. The atmosphere was festive, vibrant, and full of heart. You can tell this isn't just a business -- it's pride, culture, and passion on a plate. Give this place your money. They deserve every cent. The servers are top-notch, the food is unforgettable, and the experience feels personal. They've earned a loyal customer. I'll be back -- many times.

It's just down the street from one…read moreof the busiest slice and beer places...that being said we were finally hearing good things about the food here and a quick survey of the menu showed some gluten free options. I didn't see an alcohol menu so I took a chance and grabbed a bottle of wine to take along. It was busy enough on a Friday evening but not a full restaurant. Too busy for one server doing all front of house duties though. I don't think this restaurant or the last occupant have done anything to the interior space although there were less tables in the lower dining room. The menu is large but not descriptive. On a day when the server isn't getting slammed I get the feeling that he'd love to offer verbal descriptions but during our visit it was not going to happen. Anyway, on to the food which was all quite good. The sauces were the star for me. Birria empanadas (GF) were excellent. That Birria consommé was worth the entire trip! The carnitas tacos were flavorful with generous portions. The mofongo platter was huge. Needless to say, we have enough leftovers for another few meals. It's worth a visit.
