Have used this restaurant for years for Chinese and it's always been acceptable. Last week however both meals were sub standard. The drunken noodles were a bland pile of gummy indistinguishable stuff which was tasteless. We also got the General Tao's chicken and it was the worst I've ever had. Zero spice or heat and very bland chunks of breaded chicken that were a huge disappointment. General Taos is my favorite meal and I've gotten it plenty of times but no more at this place. read more

In reading the other reviews on this page I've gotta ask when the heck they have walked into a take-out Chinese spot and received anything more than a "whatchoo want attitude..." that's just standard. While I agree that when you go to pay you're not sure what it's going to come to, I feel this is how I e always operated in a Chinese takeout spot; here's a tip, ask how much things you're ordering are up front. I've yet to find reasonably priced delicious take out but that's because I'm a cheap mofo, clearly as are the rest of you. I have to say while $10 for soup sounds like a lot, it comes in a big bowl (which is actually an awesome container in and of itself) the cubed beef is good quality and has a nice flavor, the udon noodles as well as the bokchoy are cooked wonderfully and the broth has a nice spicy cilantro flavor too. I'm happy paying $10 for it (if I were paying less I'd be happier and I wouldn't wanna pay much more) If you order $35 worth of food you'll get a free sesame chicken, or general tso's or whatever; I opted for the sesame today and it was super fresh, super crispy and quite tasty. The chicken pad tai is good too! I like it better from Sumou across the street but this works just fine. I honestly like the place so far and I've been back four times in a couple months just because we love that Spicy beef noodle soup. I'm not usually one to order much Chinese, but like I said, despite getting Chinese 3 times in as many years I've been here at least three times in as many months. read more

Have been looking for a new takeout place for a while and figured I would give this place a chance. Well I'm here to tell you to stay clear at all costs. I started to eat my egg roll and was met with a disgusting surprise. There was cling wrap baked into the stale roll and it was so tightly intertwined that I fear I swallowed some. I know everyone makes mistakes, however I called them up to let them know that maybe they should throw this batch out because other customers might choke. I was told they didn't care and that it was my problem and was rudely told "I dont know why you're calling, it happened it's over with". I want to make it clear I wasn't even asking for a refund I was calling to give them a heads up and if they don't care about there customers they clearly shouldn't be in business. read more

Food was good but they did not include part of my take out order . When I called they were very rude . I was only visiting and did not have transportation. They told me the only thing I could do was come back to the store that they would not send the delivery driver out to complete the order. They would also not refund the money to my debit card. I've been coming here since they opened through multiple ownership changes. These days they're very hit or miss. Sometimes they make the best and tastiest chinese food in the area and other times you get rubbery meat or dry and nearly inedible eggrolls. For example, my last visit their beef with broccoli was the most delicious and tender beef I've had from a chinese takeout in a very long time. Ordered it again tonight and it was rubbery. I wasn't cutting my pieces until one of the last bites and was immediately shocked to see uncooked beef. I've never seen anything like this from any chinese takeout esrablishment, very offputting. 3 stars for all the amazing meals I've had here but -2 stars for when they often get it horribly wrong. read more

Negative. Girl at the register looks to nickel and dime you. Does not pack any sauces in your order, and they give you no direction to take them. They're hoping you will not grab them from the counter as they may save $.15 on your forty five dollar dinner order. You get home and are like wtf!!?! Not polite. No personality. Not accurate with estimated wait times for pick up. Gives customer an attitude, "as you can see we're busy" Instead of acknowledging an error and saying "sorry will comp you an appetizer next time" they're willing to lose a return customer. This was terrible!!!! I have to start off saying that the spicy beef soup is good, which thought the rest of the food would be also....NO! Don't do it!!!! kung-pao chicken tastes like someone mistaked sugar for salt; the ginger shrimp should have been in the special diet area b/c it had NO flavor and NO sauce (and I order off the diet menu sometimes so that means it was REALLLLLY bad lol) and the hot and spicy shrimp tastes and looks like it was made with ketchup. So we all know that not all Chinese food restaurants are created equal. Service at these restaurants are typically the same. Short, curt and to the point. Order. Pay. Leave. I can deal with that. What I'm looking for is MGS free food with good taste. You'll find that here. The egg rolls are on the small side but I like the shells they're made with and the filling is delicious. The cheese wontons are my absolute favorite! Light, crisp and the filling is seasoned well. My family's go to is the chicken and broccoli and I try to come before 3pm for the inexpensive lunch specials. This time I ordered the beef and broccoli lunch special and although it wasn't as good as the chicken I usually get, I enjoyed it. The subgum wonton here is also great but the lobster tends to be a little over cooked. The mooshu chicken is out of this world! If it didn't contain a thousand calories I'd get it all the time. The brown gravy for the egg foo young doesn't have a weird after taste like many other Chinese restaurants do. This restaurant is definitely consistently good and worth checking out in my opinion. I don't feel like it warrants the bad reviews I read. I've had bad Chinese and it wasn't from here. read more

It gets a little crazy with rush hour times and you might get put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time but - my fiancee loves their steamed dumpling and I do like the variety on their menu these days. read more

My favorite Chinese Food place in Patchogue area. Great selection and food always very good.

Went here for take out, last time I was here was easily 15 years ago. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Singapore Mei Fun was especially good, as was Chicken w. Mixed Vegetables. The chicken noodle soup broth was tasty, and not too salty. I felt the restaurant was especially clean. It is a take out place with a large table with folding chairs so you can stay and eat your grub. We will definitely be back. read more

Eating at the right time is pretty tough but this place can make a great dinner for you to enjoy in 15 minutes. They use fresh ingredients and the place looks clean. Its not sticky and grimy like some take outs. They took an extra minute to make sure they got my order right which I have to say means a lot. I gotta say, I'm shocked to see so many bad reviews. This place has some of the best Chinese food around and now has a great Thai food selection. They're always very fast and the food is fresh. I have ordered takeout and it took forever, but that's to be expected as with most take out places, they wait for orders to pile up so the driver doesn't have to go back and Forth. Been looking for decent Chinese in the area. Read reviews and thought we'd give this place a try, especially since they advertise "Chinatown Style Noodle Soups!" I'm a sucker for propaganda and an even bigger sucker for savory soups so off we went. The place is, in fact, very clean. Much cleaner than any other take-out only place we've been to. But where others gush about "ambiance" is beyond me. It's a take-out joint. Nothing more, nothing less. What made me laugh, though, was this "award", proudly displayed and framed on their wall. Check it out and you'll see what I mean. Buddanyway... The staff WAS friendly. We placed our order and it was prepared pretty quickly. While waiting, we noted several regulars who came in for their orders so, that's a good thing. The steamed shumai was pretty good. Savory and moist with a decent dipping sauce. The pork fried rice was unremarkable. The shrimp lo-mein was pretty good but also somewhat unremarkable (except that it was less greasy that others we've had). Wife liked the Mu-Shu shrimp. Got the roast duck noodle soup which was pretty good. Chunks of savory duck in a heart broth. We were a little unaccustomed to having actual bones in the pieces so next time, we'll probably order a soup that will take a little less work to enjoy but it was a great dish nonetheless. The price won't break the bank either. Our initial impression, therefore, is that it's a decent little place. We will return though will probably focus on getting their soups. Give them a try. This is around the corner from where I am dog sitting. They are promoting their spicy beef noodle soup. It looks spicy red in the picture with lots of basil or cilantro. It was good, not as spicy as in the pics and the beef chunks were decent sized. I also got a scallion pancake and a pork bun. These are not always found in American-Chinese restaurants but some of my fave items in actual Chinese food. The pork bun was a bit airy inside and the paper stuck to the side a lot, not enough meat but tasty. This may have been ordered and not made in shop, but this is normal. The scallion pancake was delicious and flaky with a good sauce. There was a lot of it, and it was cooked to order. My main gripe is not the food...I know it is virus season, but don't tell me over the phone 20 mins if it is going to be an hour. I have 3 dogs to look after and one peed on the furniture when I was out. They also loved the extra pancake. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Forgot multiple parts of our order after the girl at the counter told me everything was in the bag. After noticed, I called and told her things were missing and the broccoli was so hard I could not even eat it. She told me to come back in, so I did. She then told me that I needed to bring her the proof and to bring all my food back after I was already back in the place. So I angrily drove another 15 minutes both ways to show her the food. She then took it back and while I waited for the new food, the whole staff started talking in a different language and started laughing while staring at me. Not happy with the food at all. Sesame chicken is all fat, not even sure if its chicken. Threw it out. Worse chinese food I have ever had.

The food here is regular, generic Chinese food. Nothing special about anything. No dish stands out. It is your last minute decision on dinner when you just don't feel like cooking and because it is close you order. Their delivery service however is horrific. They once told us 30 minutes and it took an hour and a half to get our food. Anytime we ever ordered for delivery it just takes forever. Needless to say we have switched out Chinese take out place and have had better results so far. Shanghai needs to get a grip on their service. Leaves a lot to be desired. read more

Come on) well I wait more and then 1hr 20mins later I call and she says it's ready waiting there but they don't have a driver, do I want to pick up?
