I ordered white rice noodles with chicken and vegetables, I received Brown mush noodles with some chicken that was not cooked properly no vegetables just an onion slicer too sour very very sour. Bad food. I also ordered sesame chicken which is hard as a rock good for throwing Halloween candy, only this is supposed to be white meat sesame chicken. I took photographs because I'm unable to eat this food it's bad. Just want everybody out there to know be careful what you're getting when you order from this place. Name of the place is Dragon Palace 26 South Ocean Avenue Patchogue New York. Be aware.we

Ya know, I had hoped of the old reviews staying true and the new reviews fading, but I wasn't impressed by a single thing here. I kept trying to be positive with every bite, rapping back and forth with the girlfriend about what was good about it, in reality revealing all that was bad. I realized over the course of the meal that not only did nothing blow me away, there was something negative about every single item right down to the egg rolls. *The white rice was good, nice and sticky... *The Gung Bo wasn't spicy at all, instead it tasted heavily of licorice. *Sesame chickens flavor was fine but it needed to be crispy, it was tender but mushy * Egg rolls were similarly un-crisp, nothing great about the filling flavor or bite (no chew, no crunch) * Dim Sum was decent but I've had much better and their flavor profile was just off somehow, almost dirty or too earthy in a way. The first time I tried sitting here, they turned me away because they had a party coming and gave them the entire tiny restaurant. I ordered take out later the next day and this review reflects that food. I'm unimpressed and never need to return. Still searching for good, local, sit down Chinese; when I was a teenager we had a couple nice white cloth Chinese restaurants and now the scene is just littered with take out fast food, American Chinese. If you can help, message me. This place certainly does not satisfy.

Based on Robert L's reviews (Thanks Robert!) and the sheer brightness of the eatery I had to try the food. Upon entry you will notice the super friendly staff. Inside is clean, super clean. It's an open airy layout yet still cozy. I opted for takeout and yes they pack it well. The Menu's a couple dollars more than your average takeout but well worth it. The food is seriously amazing. The oil used to cook the food is not overpowering and allows everything in the pork fried rice to have its own flavor. They have a crab Rangoon they refer to as "Fortune Cheese Wonton." These tasty artery cloggers are giant deep fried triangles of cream cheese and crab meat. They are bigger than a Wonton; more of a smaller empanada. If you like the Crab Rangoon I highly recommend these bad boys. The pork egg roll was a little peppery they are made a little different than how I like them prepared but still good. I went with the Boneless spare rib dinner. My entree was a huge portion, Great marinade, a good quality meat. Shang Shui really raises the bar on Chinese food in the area. I kinda feel like all bets are off on my other favorites out here. I can't wait to dine in with Wifey. Shang Shui will not disappoint and I'd go as far to say it's a destination spot for China.

Not a spice.....

I've been on a kick with one of their dishes recently, so during a family dinner I suggested that we get our food from here. When we got home, we also brought a visitor who was snug as a bug in a rug, tucked away in our tofu sauce. At first we thought he was a spice, but his cute smile and beady eyes showed us differently.

In reading the other reviews on this page I've gotta ask when the heck they have walked into a…read moretake-out Chinese spot and received anything more than a "whatchoo want attitude..." that's just standard. While I agree that when you go to pay you're not sure what it's going to come to, I feel this is how I e always operated in a Chinese takeout spot; here's a tip, ask how much things you're ordering are up front. I've yet to find reasonably priced delicious take out but that's because I'm a cheap mofo, clearly as are the rest of you. I have to say while $10 for soup sounds like a lot, it comes in a big bowl (which is actually an awesome container in and of itself) the cubed beef is good quality and has a nice flavor, the udon noodles as well as the bokchoy are cooked wonderfully and the broth has a nice spicy cilantro flavor too. I'm happy paying $10 for it (if I were paying less I'd be happier and I wouldn't wanna pay much more) If you order $35 worth of food you'll get a free sesame chicken, or general tso's or whatever; I opted for the sesame today and it was super fresh, super crispy and quite tasty. The chicken pad tai is good too! I like it better from Sumou across the street but this works just fine. I honestly like the place so far and I've been back four times in a couple months just because we love that Spicy beef noodle soup. I'm not usually one to order much Chinese, but like I said, despite getting Chinese 3 times in as many years I've been here at least three times in as many months.

I was made to leave one star, but it doesn't deserve that. Ordered an egg roll, hot and sour soup…read moreand house fried rice. Not one dish had any flavor, ended up throwing it out. Waste of money!
