I have been going to this restuarant for over 10years. It is the same owners and they are very nice people. Im my opinion they are the best chinese food place in the East Yaphank, Shirley area. The food here is always delicious, nice serving size, and fresh. Some of my favorites are Roast Pork Lo- mein ( i asked for it in a box container) , general tso tofu, cheese wantons, egg rolls, and roast pork fried rice. Really good takeout! Reasonable prices & generous portions. It's my go to when I'm at work. Come once a week. Sooooo good! They have a handful of tables if you want to eat there. Great food; reasonably priced. Parking lot easy to get in and out. Definitely a busy place but they are organized and have your food ready when promised. After reading a bunch of reviews about this place, and seeing this restaurant pop-up for a list I follow on Yelp, I decided to give them another try. This place has been around for a long time, and I never really liked them because their food was way too oily with puddles or oil on the plate. They also lacked flavor in the past, and their portions were small. So I decided tried them today after not having their food for a couple of years. We called in for a take-out order and they gave us our order number and told us it would be ready in 15mins. When we arrived our food was ready. They do not take Discover credit card, but they do accept other credit cards and cash. The good was very hot and looked good. I completely agree with some of the reviews. Their food has gotten so much better!!!! We got the General Tso Chicken, beef chow ho fun, fried dumplings, and Singapore Mei Fun. All the food was very good and flavorful, and they were not drowning in puddles of oil. We got the combo meal for the General Tso Chicken so it came with fried rice and an egg roll. There was much sauce, and the chicken was not dry. The beef chow ho fun was good, and the fried dumplings were amazing. They put more meat than other Chinese take-out places, and the dumpling skin was a good thickness. The Singapore Mei Fun was very flavorful and delicious. We ate here about 9 months ago and filed the experience as worth revisiting. Last week we craved good Cantonese and NOK delivered that taste and preparation that exemplified Cantonese of yore! The LoMein and Beef with Brocolli were delish as were their perfectly laquered Spare Ribs...Mmmm! They are doing take out only, but the service is spot on and the order was totally correct! I usually judge a Chinese place by its fried rice, and this is legit real fried rice and not that yellow junk you see at a lot of places these days. Dumplings were delicious, boneless spare ribs amazing, sweet and sour chicken awesome, great Lo Mein. Pretty solid spot foods always good here and they are pretty quick with there turn around and deff always have Alton of people there so you know the food is always fresh. Customer service is pretty good there as well. The inside isn't the greatest looking like fine dining. It's more of just a great takeout spot. read more

I was really starting to give up on trying to find good Chinese takeout in the area. So glad I tried new oriental kitchen! I got it delivered via doordash and the food arrived very hot. Wonton soup is solid. I was craving it all morning and it's hitting the spot. I got the beef and broccoli combination platter. Other than the beef being a little too saucy, it's really good!! This was my favorite Chinese take-out spot for the longest time. However, lately it just hasn't been up to par. Boneless spare ribs have been full of fat and super oily. It seems that they replaced duck sauce packets with a homemade duck sauce in a container that isn't as great (we were charged extra for packets?). I was gaming and my stomach began to rumble. Checking my refrigerator I knew there was a problem, it was empty. So with that, I was eating out. I decided to call ahead and pick up my food from "New Oriental Kitchen." I spoke to a lady on the phone who was very pleasant. She told me it would be ready in ten minutes. Now you know that means twenty five minutes when you call in. But I wanted to get there and see some other stores it shares the parking lot with. When I arrived a decided to let them know I was there and how long till It would be ready. When you walk in, there's not much to the place. Just some tables and chairs, bad paint job and a soda machine. The nice lady was sitting there and greeted me. I told her my order and she said "it's ready, what sauce you want?" I thought there must be a mistake or she confused my order, my food is ready? Sure enjoy my name was on it with a great price for everything by the way. I had no time to walk around. I took out my card, which they accept, paid and went home. When I sat down to eat it, I was surprised with how good the crab ragoons were. They had a unique flavor to them. After I pulled out the chicken. Again there had to be a mistake. They gave me enough chicken for two people and for only ten dollars. I said to myself this can't be right. But I had it and possession is nine tenths of the law. So I ate it. Again I was taken back. The chicken and the sauce were perfect. It tasted better then I could have imagined. That two person plate quickly became one project only for me. I ate it all. I definitely was satisfied. I'm pretty sure I won't be hungry two hours later so I will definitely have this place as my new spot. If your in the area and need a break from any activities, then give them a try. read more

Placed a group order here while on shift at a nearby Volunteer Ambulance Company. First time trying NOK and I was definitely wowed! They practiced safe customer service with plexiglass windows at the counter and a bank drive thru style deposit box window. Service was friendly and they didn't mind ringing up separate orders. I ordered steamed dumplings and chicken lo mein. The dumplings were absolutely delicious and I must say that the lo me in was probably the best I have ever had. The other crew members mentioned how much they enjoyed their food as well. I'm only in NY for a little more than a month, moving to FL, so I will be sure to eat here at least once more before I go. Good, fast, cheap chinese food... plain and simple. Portions are HUGE here... definitely enough for multiple meals, which is even more cost savings. Score! They cook everything perfectly... and in a wok... you can tell from the flavor. I like that the meat and veggies are never over or undercooked with just the perfect amount of sauce. Love their wonton soup - lots of meat and really tasty. One nice thing about this place is when you order for take out, I think they purposely prepare the food/soup hotter than when you dine it which is nice cus the food is still piping hot when you get home. It is rare that I would ever say anything is the absolute worst. This place has won that honor. I have tried the food here many times. Either they under-cook, over-cook, microwave or they just get the order wrong. The final straw was this weekend. Chicken and broccoli. A simple staple at any Chinese restaurant. The broccoli was so tough I could not even stick a fork in it. The chicken was stringy. Chicken is not supposed to be stringy. It made ma think of cat. First off this is a real hidden gem.. I'm from a part of California where we pay 5x to get really good Chinese like this. The food is authentic and really delicious and the price is so affordable it's ridiculous. I just feel really lucky to find this place and I'll be coming back more often!! Found out this place reopened after being closed due to the COVID-19. I was craving good Chinese for 2 months. The food here has always been good. But once they reopened the food was outstanding! I dont know who is doing the cooking now but the dishes have spices I never really tasted before. I love the flavors. The dumplings never tasted as good as they were today. The pork fried rice was not greasy. It was light and fluffy. The chicken with broccoli was saucy and also not too oily. The sweet n sour chicken actually started off sweet and finished sour.
