The worst Chinese take-out yet! I asked for beef lo mein with "light" oil; the dish was loaded with oil! It was just horrible. Then the Spring roll, I had to spit it out. What was that? The breading was hard, the inside ingredients, what the heck was in that? Just horrible. The shrimp with mixed vegetables, vegetables over-cooked, shrimp tasted old. I called to complain and asked for a refund. No refunds allowed. They would "replace" the food. No thanks! Why would I want more food from them? Finally a pretty decent fast Chinese food place...Egg Rolls are excellent. Best around. Seem to be pretty authentic and possibly homemade. The dumplings were a big zero. Giant thick dough balls. The spare ribs on the bone were ok. They seemed to have more of an Hawaiian flare to them then a traditional Chinese spare rib. The Yaw gat mein soup was very good. Filled with fresh veggies and shredded pork. Very healthy. The fried rice was the worst I have ever had. the veggies were dried out. The peas were petrified as well as the carrots. And yellow rice? Why? Egh...The sauteed string beans were excellent as well. Our first try and we were pleased. Delivery was prompt and the food was piping hot. We are within a mile. Be patient call in advance if you can. This food so far is 5 stars all the way. First is their Chinese rice whether it's white or fried it's to die for. Next is their egg roles moist inside crispy on the outside I'll move on to the steam vegetables with spicy garlic sauce among the very best I've ever had. My Co-worker was hungry today and felt like Chinese. We have called Panda House before so we decided to go back. When the food came my co-work took one bite of the chicken and then went for some rice. Before she ate the rice she saw what she thought was vegetables and she asked for none. When she took the two object out it was clear what it was. It was two cooked roaches. No one order rice with a side of roaches! We took pictures and she went back. They claimed it was not roaches but gave her a full refund. Sounds like someone wanted the problem to go away. I strongly urge anyone that wants Chinese in Patchogue stay away from Panda House. My family orders from here all the time. The food is good and haven't had any issues with bugs like the other reviews. Our normal order is beef broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp with mixed veggies and egg rolls. Good is reasonably priced and ready when we come to pick it up. They do have delivery. I think they got a new chef or something. I ordered from them in the past and the food was great. The past two times I ordered the food was really terrible. The sesame chicken was so stringy I couldn't even eat it. Two small pieces of almost raw broccoli was thrown in. The eggroll was so full of oil that it actually leaked out. I like the fact they deliver but that doesn't offset the poor quality of the food. I tried them again after the last time when I ordered boneless spare ribs that were also hard and dry. Update! the last few times we've ordered they have been on point. One of the only places that will actually make general tsos spicy! The egg rolls are back to being amazing and the wonton soup has this kick of ginger that gets you excited :D I don't regret my last review, it was pretty poor for a while... even at their worst still better than any delivery we've found. read more

I really didn't want to write this review because my mother told me about a friend of hers who had this experience, and you never know with stories that travel. However, the only review for this place involves a cockroach too. I heard she ordered out for lunch and opened her tray and a cockroach was in her food alive. I used to go here all the time back in 2007-09 strictly for the chicken fingers, but after this story I stopped and so did my family. The woman apparently called them and they asked if it was alive or dead (that's their response?!), and supposedly they were very difficult about refunding the money back. I'm not sure how it has been since and I would hope after the last couple of years they would have exterminated the problem accordingly. I've heard that cockroaches get in a lot of crates of food in many establishments, but to have the nasty things in served food is beyond something I can fathom. read more

We usually order cream cheese wontons (best we have ever had), chicken chow mein, pork fried rice, egg drop soup, and sesame chicken.
