We've ordered before but this last time was very disappointing. The food was bland & overcooked. The most disappointing was the noodle soup that I ordered. The description said: japanese noodles, shrimp, chicken & vegetables. What they sent was basically noodles & tofu. (2 pieces of shrimp & Few pieces of chicken.......it was $9.50). I can't eat tofu and never order meals that include tofu. Sorry to say we will not be ordering from here again. read more

Let me say I've ordered from this restaurant for about 8+ years. Longtime customers, we have spent $50+ on each order about every other week or so for years... now fast forward to the incident that transpired and sadly why I will NEVER order from them again. Placed an order and when the older man came to deliver the food mind you I let them know PRIOR on the phone that I had $100 bill so they would bring change accordingly, he was unprepared and visibly was struggling with making the proper change. He was pulling multiple folded stacks from one pocket to the other and back again AND his wallet, taking money from the one and then the other. Our bill was $57 and change I handed him the $100 bill and he handed me back $42 (after 5 mins of counting) no exaggeration. I handed him $7 as a tip and that was it. I'm eating my dinner when I notice I have about eight or nine missed phone calls from an odd number and when I get on the phone it is the delivery man telling me that he gave me an extra $20. I said no because I had counted the money which he then started to talk over me and told me yes he did so as a courtesy and because I really just wanted him to be at ease I double checked and let him know that no he did give me a proper change to which he then proceeded to tell me again that I had the extra $20. I said once again I don't when he once again interrupts me and goes " you said yes, you were about to tell me" basically implying that I was about to confess I had the money? ? My confusion and anger at this point are really mounting. I said listen it's not my fault YOU were moving money from one pocket to the other? And miscounted or misplaced $20. I also have you on camera during the entire thing since I have a ring camera and then his is tune changed. He accused me of lying and having it. I am not a bad person and I have ordered from them for a long time if they had given me extra $ I would've GLADLY given them back the money.. I would've done that for a stranger on the street. The food comes hot and so does the drivers temper beware. I placed an order and paid with my card over the phone, included a nice tip for an around the block drop off less than a five minute drive. Driver rolls up and walks to my door furiously slamming my food down on drive way screaming "what you don't like to tip". I said I tipped you when I called in order. The guy stormed away and called his office as he was walking away. Last time I will have them deliver my food... please sign up for door dash if your going to have your own driver drop off orders like this to someone's house. read more

Best Chinese take out in the Lake Grove - Centereach area. I judge Chinese take out by their Hot and Sour soup and there's is absolutely yummy, and fresh with lots of mushrooms!! They nail every dish, The house special Wonton, Lemon Chicken, and diet steamed shrimp with sauce on the side are family favorites. Great place run by the nicest people. read more

The workers are dirty and they don't wear a mask. There is filth all over when you first walk in. I will never come back there.

I don't get the negative reviews. But I ordered here tonight on a recommendation and the food was amazing. Ordered chicken with broccoli and it was delish. Not to mention I've never had so much meat in the order to the point I was laughing with my wife saying I need more broccoli. Also ordered a a qt. Of shrimp with lobster sauce again delish and packed with at least 14 jumbo shrimp cooked perfectly. The fried rice was authentic to what I remember from good Chinese of years ago. As well as the egg rolls, nice full size all fresh cooked in clean oil. Fast delivery and I'm probably on the outter edge of there delivery area. We have probably used every Chinese in Centereach Selden area and this by far is number 1. You have a new customer as long as you stay this good and consistent with your food. read more

THE RUDEST WOMAN AND WORST SERVICE IMAGINABLE!!!! I waited in front of the woman behind the plexiglass barricade to acknowledge me so i could ask about ordering as i had never been there before. I waited till she was off the phone to get her attention. She looked right at me,turned around and took another call.DIDN'T ASK COULD HELP ME. N-O-T-H-I-N-G. I finally figured out that i should just use the menu to order. Stood there for 10 MINUTES waiting fir someone yo even take the menu order. Waited another 30 minutes to be told by Rude Lady that they have 10 orders to do and didn't even apologize that it was taking so long and that they would "get to it". So almost an hour and no food. Told her forget it and walked out. They need to change their name to Not Even Close to No. 1 Chinese Restaurant . Horrible treatment of a no longer potential customer. I used to get from this place once a week for 3 months straight. Today I ordered $15 worth of food (like I always do) and asked the man to tell the delivery guy to call me when he got there because my door bell is broken and I live on the second floor. 40 minutes later my dog started barking at some maniac who was banging down my door like he was a cop with a search warrant. I opened the door and began to kindly apologize for the miscommunication, but he started going off about how he doesn't make any money on my delivery and that it costs him gas money (I'm a mile away, mind you) and that I don't tip well (I give $5 tip everytime on a $15 order). So at this point I'm midway through adding the tip to the bill and I STILL GIVE HIM THE 5 DOLLARS because I really did feel bad for this guy. But as I hand the merchant copy receipt back, signed with the tip, he says "Next time be outside for food." I honestly was in disbelief, I immediately told him there would never be a next time and he had some nerve to give me an attitude. He answered me by turning back, spitting on my car quickly and walking to his car. I have never been disrespected like that by a food service employee, let alone for doing nothing. Avoid this place, the food wasn't worth any of the trouble, and if you do order from this place and get a balding, black haired, short, clean shaven Asian man for your delivery, you should make sure you tip well - or watch out for your car. As far as the Chinese food in Centereach/Selden area goes, I happen to like this place for this area. Their wonton soup is really good but different from your average wonton soup. The food has been fresh (except for the shrimp which tastes fishy to me). But overall they are good. Not many good ones in the area for regular home delivery & pick up. Also they claim to not use MSG Which is a big bonus to me. read more

Certainly not No 1. Ordered soup with Udon noodles. Paid 50 cents extra. Got mei fun noodles. Egg roll was mostly lettuce or cabbage.. no chunks of pork. Chicken w eggplant was full of eggplant which was great, but it would have been a lot better if they actually cooked the eggplant! Fried dumplings were good. Seems like they are stingy with the protein in the dishes. First and last time ordering from here. Lan Wo in Stony Brook blows this place away. LOL kitchen down the road from here is excellent also. I live in Plainview but I work in Centereach. Every Friday night I take out from No. 1 Chinese Restaurant. My kids love the dumplings and the ribs. The wontons are always so fresh. The dim sum is delish. There are plenty of chinese take outs near my house but we love this one. My only complaint is that its too far from my house, or I would order from them 2 to 3 times a week. read more

This is my go to place for Chinese Take out at home. Tonight I ordered from work online and the order did not go through. When I got there to pick it up the owner assured me he would prepare the food immediately and it was ready in five minutes! Just great people that take pride in making the customer happy. The quality, freshness, and taste are the best in town. Excellent Hot and Sour soup! and the Lemon Chicken is also tops. read more

I spent 15 minutes on the phone with them, only to find out that they don't deliver to Stony Brook University because they have no idea where anything is there. They asked for which quad, which building, when I responded, they said they didn't know where that was. (I told them where, and got transferred twice to a different person. Each person responded that they didn't know where that was) Furthermore, the "free delivery to Stony Brook University" as their fliers promised was false. Not only was it false, they didn't even know how much the delivery charge was when I asked. I waited a few minutes on the phone only to get bounced between workers yet again. They handed out fliers at the university, and they can't even deliver there. I gave up after 15 minutes, and at that point, I was willing to eat my greasy and soggy burger from my campus's food court.
