Arrived in Lucerne at 7pm and our airbnb host recommended a Chinese place and an Italian place. We wanted Chinese so headed here. So there is only a parking garage available (cost us 4 chf) and no off street parking. But garage steps lead u right to the restaurant which is huge and really beautifully decorated. We sat beside a fish tank that ran all across the side wall at waist height and it was very calming to watch them swimming around (although it did put me off ordering any seafood, you might have a diff reaction).
So for the food, we just got a bottle of water (10 chf, really?), 2 kinds of soup for starters, and seeing the massive plates the diners beside us had, decided to get 2 mains to split between 3 ppl, which turned out to be a wise decision! For starters, I got the chicken and morel soup with glass noodles and my brother got wonton as starter. I though my morels were over cooked and the chicken had that bleach white taste, but my brother said his soup was very good and the way he demolished it, I didn't get a bite.
For mains, the lovely waitress modified the green curry with pork to green curry with vegetables and tofu for the vegetarian eater in our group who also asked for less tofu and more vegetables, esp mushrooms. Unfortunately when it got to the table, it was more tofu, less mushrooms and too salty both for her and me. But the baby eggplant in the curry was delish. My brother got chicken szechuan. His sauce was very good and decent amount of vegetables, but again, the chicken with its bleach-y whiteness wasn't to my taste. We shared a bowl of rice and everyone left with full bellies but unsure if we would go back, unless with someone who knew the menu and knew our tastes. But the service was excellent, and so was the atmosphere, esp the fish tank! read more
