I was in Phoenix caring for family & decided I needed a haircut. I searched Yelp & decided on Shampoo Ink, even though it was a 45 minute drive. I called on a Saturday & was given an appointment the next day, which was a pleasant surprise. I found it easily. Celi gave me a wonder cut & color. Even had my eyebrows threaded at spur of the moment. Celi was chatty & likeable, as was Kelly Kay at the next chair. No pressure to buy products, though I decided to try one. Salon is super cool, art & atmosphere fun! I wish I could get my hair cut there every time! read more

I have been coming here for about a year and am thoroughly impressed every time. It is on the smaller side and has a brick interior and great artwork inside. It has a very warm and intimate vibe. Always a nice selection of music playing and the staff is sweet as could be. I have seen Celi and Julie and both ladies are fantastic. I trust this place to give me the look I want for a fair price. I highly suggest checking it out! read more

Got my hair done a couple of days ago and went to Carley. Absolutely love my hair, the color is amazing. I told her my guidelines and what I wanted and let her do her thing. She picked a perfect color and cut to compliment my face but still allow me to stay professional for my job. I will definitely be going back. The location is a bit hidden but such a cute place with a unique character to it. I went on a Monday which I would totally recommend if you like a quieter atmosphere to a salon...it was very relaxing. And if you go there definitely ask for Carley you won't regret it! read more

I have been going to Veronica for color and cut for several months she is just amazing and has never disappointed me she is just amazing I would recommend her to anyone read more

Great color and cut, friendly staff, a little expensive but worth it for the quality.

I love Shampoo Ink. I've been there twice so far, and Sally has done an amazing job each time. I didn't even hesitate to book my follow up appointments. I screw up my hair, I dye it myself, I cut it myself, I even bleach it myself because where I used to live I couldn't find anyone that I liked enough to go to twice, or they wanted $500+ to "fix" my color, even if I wasn't going in for color correction. Sally was totally up for the challenge my hair presented and managed to turn my damaged orange hair into hair that I was proud to show off. I really appreciate that Sally will actually give advice and her opinion about what ideas I have, instead of just biting her tongue and letting me get a hairstyle that will look bad on me. I told her I was interested in a blunt cut and she explained to me why that was a bad idea, but she gave me a beautiful haircut that I LOVE that incorporated a blunt cut with just enough layers to make it work, it's PERFECT. Also, I'm able to style it like it should be styled at home, it's not one of those haircuts that looks amazing at the salon but never looks good again after you style it. I highly recommend Shampoo Ink, I doubt you'll be disappointed. read more

OK, so I have to admit that I've been plucking my own gray hairs out of my head for too long and decided I needed to color my hair before I ended up with bald spots! I stopped by my usual salon and was quoted over 200 dollars for a trim and color. Being a teacher, this was a little steep. I stumbled upon Shampoo Ink, made an appointment, and couldn't be happier! My appointment was with Celi (pronounced Sally) and she is glorious! I showed her a picture of the color I wanted to try out and we worked together to find something similar that would look good with my skin tone. Celi is amazing, brilliant and takes the time to do the job right. I am so happy that I found a friendly place and a stylist that did a fantastic job. Oh, and the prices? Super reasonable! read more

Abel is the best barber I have ever had. Will never stop giving him my business. He is passionate about his job and that's what truly matters in a barber. read more

I have actually used the "Ink" side to this shop twice and will not go to another shop ever again. Marcos did both of my tattoos and I can honestly say that the one behind my ear did not hurt one bit. I have my other ear done so I can compare between artists. Wish I would have gone to him first. He has a light hand but gets full saturation :) I love the atmosphere of the shop and everyone is so friendly. I am looking forward to using the Shampoo side. read more

I went to Shampoo Ink after getting a deal through Groupon. I'm easy to please in the hair department, but haven't been wowed in awhile. I have longer very thick hair which makes cuts pretty hard to mess up but I've never really had a stylist layer how my hair should be layered to make styling the easiest. Sonja did an awesome job! She really took the time to cut, layer and style until she and I both were happy with it. Very happy customer, and will be back for sure! read more

I have to credit and give a BIG thank you to all you yelpers on here for helping me find my new hair-do home! I looked through tons of reviews for tons of locations and kept coming back here, as I found five stars almost all over the place. And for good reason, it turns out! Shampoo Ink is phenomenal. Tucked away so it's quiet and cool, and worth searching for (I got ever so slightly lost when I first tried to find it...but that's due to my OWN errors. I'm navigationally challenged). I've been used to having to wait for sometimes WEEKS to get in to see a stylist, then pay through the nose for a color/cut service that could take upwards of four or five hours. When I booked my appointment, I really wanted the service the very NEXT day. I was certain they would tell me there was no way, that I'd have to wait at least a week or more. To my utter surprise and delight, I was given a plethora of options for times THE NEXT DAY to choose from! The place is like a funky, cool art shop. Very clean, very nice, relaxed vibe. Perfect for a downtown location. My stylist was Juli, who was totally delightful and awesome. She understood exactly what I wanted, I got a cut and full highlights (and I have a huge, thick, forest of hair so it can't have been easy for her). The entire process took less than 2 hours and cost LESS than I'd been paying for years. I was amazed and super happy. Highly recommend this place to anyone and EVERYONE looking for hair awesomeness!! Thank you, shampoo ink! read more

Carley did an AMAZING job on my haircut!! Instead of rushing through, she took her time and was very precise. I could also tell she really loves what she does so made the experience even better. Felt good to be in the hands of a professional :) I definitely recommend her! Thanks Carly! read more

Went in again and this time to see Julie. She gave me a great cut and some amazing low lights in a darker red. Still a great place and I definitely will continue to come back. read more

I just moved to town a few months back and was in dire need to tame the mane. I had a Paul Mitchell salon that I was super faithful to for the past six years, it was hard to leave them but after this, my very first cut with Sonia I'm positive I'm in good hands. The studio is ultra hip but not pretentious. It felt exclusive but I was made to feel very welcomed. I am extremely pleased with the cut I was given, the awesome info products and even awesomer info on the hot spots (best coffee, best bars) in the area. Big ups to Sonia for being rad. read more

I had a great haircut at this cool Phoenix establishment. I'll definitely return when next visiting Arizona.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my daughter & I looking beautiful @the last minute.

Came hair for a hair cut. Came back for a hair color. Love the atmosphere and the people. Such great staff! Yuri is my new stylist! Will not be going anywhere else!! Definitely a place worth the money you spend on. Not your average salon! Very upbeat and beautiful!! read more

Love this place. I've been twice. Cost is very reasonable without a compromise to the quality. I'm one of those shy customers who is not well versed in hair, so I usually leave salons slightly disappointed...but I'm 2 for 2 on the satisfaction scale here! Both Abel and Veronica are fabulous at their job...and everyone else who works there is friendly, offering a smile and hello. They're a funky place who understand the simple too! I've never gotten more compliments on my hair. I plan to keep coming back to this place. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because both times I've been made to wait at least 15 minutes before getting started...like a doctors office, I'm ok with the wait though if it means I get the attention and care I need :) read more

I am so happy I found my new hair salon and stylist! The salon is clean and funky and I love that they do fantasy hair color, which I plan on getting done next time I go in. And Carly did a great job on my highlights and haircut. Go see her! read more

I cannot begin to say enough about Sonia at Shampoo Ink! I decided to try the salon after reading all of the great reviews and couldn't be happier with the results. I have very long hair that's tricky to cut, plus a complex all over color with some very detailed, vibrant hot pink highlights. I've had many colorists (at Rolf's, Pucci & elsewhere) tell me they couldn't match my color even after having told them the color brand & shade well in advance. Sonia & I chatted on the phone when setting up my appointment and she was more than familiar with the dye and happily had it ready to go before my appointment. With the color, cut & styling of my hair, Sonia knocked it out of the park! I left the salon very happy with a pretty & fun do. I was so impressed with her, I've taken my daughter for her haircut & style, too.. Sonia has done an ombré style coloring using a very vivid blue that my daughter chose and it looks awesome! I would absolutely recommend Shampoo Ink without hesitation. The shop is fun, relaxed and very cool and everyone makes the clients feel welcomed and right at home. Every bit of perfection without one ounce of pretension. read more

This place is great. Reasonable prices, great stylists cute decor, very welcoming. It has a very hip vibe to it, lots of cool colored hair and great fashion but not so hipster that I felt uncomfortable. Parking situation isn't great but don't let that scare you off. The only thing I hated was the hair washing sinks. But just a minor thing. Brittany was my stylist today and I said I wanted blonde and I got it. The color looks amazing. I loved this place. read more

I got my hair cut with Abel on 2/2/2018 and was extremely happy. He is AMAZING as a stylist and a great person as well! I'm in the process of growing out my very short hair and he provided me with a great cut and wonderful options getting through this process. I was very nervous getting it cut but he gave me an awesome cut without loosing length but providing a super style. His salon is very nice and for this amazing service his prices are unbelievable! I'm happy to say I will be returning for future services with Able. He is the most talented stylist in Phoenix/Scottsdale! Believe me you will not be disappointed. read more

Carley has been my hair stylist for years and consistently does an amazing job! She's helped revive my damaged hair and makes it healthy and full without taking off too much length. I would recommend her to anyone. read more

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new hair stylist. I read lots of wonderful reviews on here and decided to give it a go! Juli was fantastic, super friendly and easy to talk to. Shampoo Ink was probably not designed for a 60 year old client, but I love it here, so they're stuck with me! I see Carley every time. Besides being a lovely person, she's a great listener! She always asks me questions and then talks about her game plan. I have LOVED all her wonderful ideas with color and cut! Realizing that more positive reviews just means she may get super booked, I'm taking that chance. She's THAT good! read more

I originally found this salon through a friend and was quite surprised when I went for the first time. It has this comfortable feel to it that other high end salon's lack and when I call or walk in (whether the first time, or now after many times) they recognize me and are genuinely interested in what I want done that day. The fact that I can call weeks in advance, or in my case (more often than not) I can even call the day of and they will find a way to fit me in! The hours are awesome and accommodating to my funky schedule, and on top of all of this, the services are great! My hair grows in every which way and can be time consuming to cut, but I never leave anything but 100% happy and excited! I have an will continue to recommend this salon to everyone I know, and that includes, you! read more

Always love this place. Friendly people and although parking can be a little tricky its no big deal. Alli took my hair from past my shoulders to a pixie cut and did a fantastic job! She always listens the exactly what I want and works with me until I'm perfectly happy. read more

I have gone to several places in the valley to get my haircut. After going to shampoo ink it is the only place I will go. I have been lucky enough to have Carley help me every time. I have asked her to cut my hair a couple of different styles and she has done an amazing job on all of them. When I used to go to a new place they would always mess it up the first time, not here. Every time I go there now I just ask Carley to make it look good and she does a phenomenal job! read more

My sister and I purchased a deal for haircut, color, and style for $29. The ambiance is very cool and urban. My sister had Sonya as her stylist and I had Abel. We were both offered a free beer which we enjoyed! The stylists were very friendly and talkative. But most important...we both LOVED our hair and will be returning for sure! Highly recommend this salon! read more

I got a coupon for a shampoo, haircut, blowdry, style, deep conditioning treatment and all over color. My stylist was Juli. She was really nice, easy to talk to, did a great job going over my color options and explained everything she did and why. She was fabulous. The salon is small, but very charming. It is hard to find and the parking is not great, but I find these do not matter when it comes to how great my service was and how much I love my hair now. I rarely go back to a salon twice because of not being happy enough with either customer service, quality of work or price. Shampoo Ink hit the nail on the head with all three. I will be going back to see Juli. read more

Thanks to all you reviewers- I found Shampoo Ink on yelp....and SO GLAD I did!!! Kelly transformed my flat, lifeless uber-long 1 length dark blonde hair into a work of art- with bright blonde and purple highlights ombre-style with long layers and side-swept bangs. She even styled it for me for an event I was going to the next day. My hair got lots of compliments. Kelly was meticulous with the color, cut and style. She took her time and stayed an hour after closing to make sure I was thrilled with the result. She gave me lots of tips for styling and maintaining the health of my hair. She was a lot of fun to spend 4+ hours with and very professional. The cost of everything she did to my hair was an absolute steal. The vibe of the salon is creative and artsy without being impossibly hipster. I loved every part of my experience. I'll definitely be back! read more

Alli is great! I needed to find a new hairdresser when my current one announced she would be closing her business. I wanted to find someone who could do wild and fun things with color and I am so glad I found Alli! She's always up for an experiment and offers good suggestions - so far all of the experiments have all turned out amazing. We've done a few different tones of purple and even purple ombre panels. A couple of times the colors have faded pretty quickly - it's not permanent color and we're working with hair that used to be dyed black - and she has offered quick and affordable color touch-ups on short notice. I know that making frequent changes with colors like this - I'm capricious about my hair, what can I say? - can require some extra maintenance, and Alli accommodates this need in ways that fit with my schedule and my budget. I couldn't ask for a better stylist! The salon in general is great - there's always really fun music playing, and everyone is super friendly. There's a cute little refreshment station with water and coffee (and maybe beer?) available - going there feels treating myself to a low-key pampering where I am well taken care of, without the trappings of a place that's all snobby and stuffy. The salon sells a full line of Paul Mitchell products, but no one has EVER pushed anything on me - they're just available if you need them, otherwise there's no hard sell. I'd recommend Shampoo Ink as a fun, hip, low-key place to get your hair done, especially if you're looking to do new, fun things with your hair. read more

This is for the salon manicure and pedicure services. There is one technician, Jocelyn. Well, I have to say, she is the best I have seen to date. The 2 mani's I have received and the one pedi are perfect in all ways. She takes just a second or two longer on applying the foundation products, ensuring complete coverage. She applies the polish effortlessly and beautifully. My gel manicure lasted almost 3 weeks. My pedi is holding up nicely for the 3rd week. read more

I am an avid believer if word of mouth. So when, after 3 years of growing my hair out naturally from platinum blonde, I decided to dye my hair, I went to the online reviews. I decided to give Shampoo Ink a try. I was going from medium brown hair to red (but could not decide on a firm red, I wanted it bright, but not bozo the clown). Sally knew exactly what I wanted. I brought in a picture, and she made it happen. I let her know I.was going to Yelp! The SHH!+ out of Shampoo Ink and here I am. I have had some horrible experiences with hair salons in the past (signing a waiver bad) and am very particular when it comes to my hair (what woman isn't). If I could give this place and Sally more stars I would. I can see why so many people love this place....Believe The Hype! read more
