My husband's dirty martinis were great - except the bartender served with 2 olives! Tsk tsk! Ha. We also tried their black hummus - they tried to explain to me that it was black sesame oil? But it was still chunky so there HAD to be some bean or chickpea in it. It was tasty.

The bar itself is gorgeous, with thoughtful attention to small details. The bar seating against the window rail is incredible and if it's a nice day, you'll find it like we did, with the accordion window panes tucked away. You can't find a better way to spend an afternoon in the city - their craft cocktails are creative and unexpected. The views to pair with that, along with great company - chef's kiss. We ordered a few drinks and soaked in the views. The staff checked on us often and were up to making a few "off menu" drinks - that wowed us. If you aren't seeing what you are looking for, ask for it. I bet you won't be disappointed.

The Lookout bar is located in The Westin and on the top floor with stunning views. We were first greeted by the host Hal who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I noticed Hal walking through the bar checking on guests and also assisting the servers as needed with drink and food orders. We were seated at the window which had stunning views of the local village and mountain. Our servers John and Augustina were excellent. They never left us waiting for service and continuously checked in on us. We ordered dirty martinis which were served nice and cold. The only negative about the martinis would be the glasses are smaller than what martinis at most other places would be served in so it is simply a smaller serving. However, the wine was a generous pour. For bites, we ordered the Pimento Cheese which was served warm with baguette. So tasty. The beef + blue toasts. This was okay but not our favorite. The burrata salad. Very refreshing and delicious. Since we were not staying at the Weston and had to valet, they were kind enough to validate our ticket. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a drink and experience the beautiful views and delicious drinks and small bites.

There are plenty of beer pubs and wine bars but not that many that make nice cocktails. The feel of the bar has significantly changed in the last year. It's gone from "everyone is drunk here woohoo!" to a nice cocktail bar. I love the concept of this bar. They have super traditional absinthe, absinthe cocktails, and absinthe wash cocktails, but also "normal" cocktails, beer and wine. The vibe is just really nice. It's chill, friendly, clean and comfortable. I love that they have a couch as well as a bar for sitting. There is a dart board and a few bar games you can play. The first bite surprised me and interested me and my girlfriend looked at my face and said how are they? I told her I didn't want to prejudice her so just to take one and tried herself. She did and the look on her face was probably like mine, surprised. We both agreed that they were different than any other deviled eggs we had ever had and they were very delicious. The presentation was very nice as well. We shared a beet salad and they split it onto plates for us and it was more than enough for each one of us. We also split a pasta 25 which was good but I had to ask for salt-and-pepper as it was in need of some spices. This is simply the bar/pub in a busy hotel but the kitchen really has it working! The staff did a good job as well but they are mostly very young people working seasonally so you are not going to get professional waitstaff as you would in a high-end restaurant like Leonora. The food was not very good at all, with the exception of the huge quesadilla appetizer (which came with a ton of fun toppings). The service was terrible. The music was nice. I ordered the turkey panini. Huge serving. Turkey, pesto, spinach, cheese, tomato, bacon. All these ingredients, but somehow this was very bland and soggy. The bacon was barely chewable and had no flavor as well. It came with a side salad. The salad looked delicious but had no flavor or dressing, and the few small croutons on top got soggy from the wet salad toppings. Yuck. I also tried the elk burger. My fiancé ordered this cooked medium. The sides were cooked fine, but the inside looked like ground beef you'd see in the raw meat aisle at a grocery store. He was unable to eat any of the middle of the burger because of this. Now we would've complained about the burger because this was health hazard undercooked inside, but our waitress never returned to ask how our food was until our food was long gone. No water refills so we refilled our own glasses with my reusable water bottle. No bill until literally 30 minutes after we asked her (and this was long after we were trying to figure out why she was not coming back to our table). It was a bummer because she was very nice, but we got no actual service from her.

It felt super swanky and loved all the wood - felt like we were somewhere back in the 30s. The cocktail connoisseur behind the bar, Danny, makes you a custom made drink based your preferences. They can of course make standard drinks but what fun is that? In their menu, they have a list of the most popular liquors (gin, vodka, whiskey, rum, etc.) and then flavors that typically pair with those liquors. For example, I wanted some sort of whiskey sour and asked to make it with peach or ginger flavors. My husband asked for a gin drink with crème de violet and got a delicious play on an Aviation cocktail with aloe and rosemary simple syrup. Overall, a little bit of a hiccup to find it and get in, but the experience was awesome!
