    Yizu honey lemonade

Haven't been to a SS since way before the panny and we were annoyed at the $35 price tag relative to the quality and quantity of food we ordered. When this outpost opened I was somewhat intrigued how a "slow" fast casual could pull off a drive thru but again $35 for some burgers and fries? Aht aht. Last night monthly cravings (IYKYK) got the best of me and all I wanted was a crispy around the edges smash burger. And I needed to go to Walmart. So where else but North Brunswick? I made a deal with myself that if the Yelp reviews were at least a 4 I would stop in. Welp. You know the rest. Right now they're reppin their Korean menu and those are some of my fave flavors so I was hype. Read on for highlights: -yes there's an app. But you still have to go inside to get the food and the wait is longer than the drive thru. Also I didn't see any obvious perks or points for using the app so I passed. It does however give you a good sense of the menu so if nothing else use it for that. -drive thru experience is legit. Call me basic but the Edison lights make the drive thru experience festive. AND IN AN AGE OF OZEMPIC and pharmacological fatphobia (here she go) when you're 'sposed to be ashamed of fast food and other delights, the seediness and shame of the drive thru is eliminated. Human centered design - we love to see it. -pay right at the ordering spot. Something about it seems more efficient and sanitary than handling money at the food window. -it doesn't take too long but it also takes long enough so that you know your food is fresh. Employees are super nice! Food: I got the Korean burger, fries, and a Yizu honey lemonade. I like to date myself so I pulled over across the way, put on a lofi playlist and got to business. Yo - it was really fvcking good. Fries were hot, crispy, and bountiful. Burger was crisp around the edges just like I wanted. The "Korean" flavor profile was tangy. Lemonade was great, too. I got a single patty burger with a small lemonade. Portion sizes were perfect. I was out the door at a little under $17. Not mad at that at all.

PROs- taste , love their shakes , service , indoor space, location CONs - quantity , pricing I like shake shack from my days in New York. Used to stand in long queues to get a burger : good to see a new branch opened in north Brunswick . Great location. Right next to Costco , Tesla charging stations etc. lots of parking outside . Lots of seating inside and outside for a good dining experience. Service was too good . It took sometime for our food to come but wasn't that bad . Restrooms were good .. I'm a big fan of their shakes ! Wowowow .. it was so good . I got strawberry shake without foam cream and my kids loved it ... superb . We then got chick shack . The flavor was good . Chicken was fried well and tasted good . Quantity was a little less though. It was a small sized burger . Wish they had fries with it . Kids liked it but felt it was too light , like a snack. A little pricey than other places but ok once in a while . Liked it overall .

A New York City institution finally made its way to the Brunswicks! After opening up locations from Dubai to Los Angeles to even Lawrenceville, Shake Shack makes its way to the busy Main Street North Brunswick shopping area. Right across from Panera Bread and the Tesla chargers, a roundabout away from the Courtyard Marriott and Greene Turtle, and another hopstep away from Costco/Target. Seems like a getaway of sorts with shopping/drinking/eating????? Anyhow, parking here is a bit smaller than I thought, but enough space overall. There are a bunch of spots reserved for drive-thru, which I'm not sure what that means. Guess I'll find out later. The interior is of a decent size. There are a bunch of self service kiosks, but I ended up just going straight to the counter because there wasn't a line. Mind you, this was around 6:30pm on a Sunday, which was a bit surprising (but it's kinda cold!). The wait was typical Shake Shack times, but it was prompt and kind. Also, side note: shoutout the staff who are hospitable, friendly, and also caring. I saw a manger come out to discuss food allergies with a customer who asked and it seemed pretty cordial to me. They seem on top of their stuff. Granted, service is never guaranteed beyond the honeymoon period of opening, so I hope they keep this up. I personally don't remember the last time I had Shake Shack. I used to eat it no more than once a year as a sign of an accomplishment. However, I didn't realize that Shake Shack added the Veggie Shack a few years back. I think they even modified the recipe too recently? I used to always get the Shroom burger, but always felt it was super heavy and thus limited myself to the earlier of once a year or on accomplishment only. Surprisingly enough, the burger held up even as I took it back home a paltry 5 mins away. It was still nice and hot. The fries are what I was used to as well. You could taste the veggies that make up the burger. Even though it's more calories than the shroom burger, it just didn't feel that heavy to me. That is worth noting! Will I be back? Yes. Don't know when, but I'll be back!

Came 2nd day of their grand opening for lunch so expected it to be jam-packed but wasn't bad at all. There was no line and we got our food so quickly. It's a beautiful space with lots of light & very clean. We just missed their limited giveaway but alls good BECAUSE... The food was SOOO GOOD. The star was their NEW Korean BBQ burger. It's so new that it wasnt in their self order screen yet. It was delicious, cooked perfectly and so juicy, with the perfect amount of sauce!! Fries were ok and could use a little more seasoning. I got a strawberry shake which tasted fine and nice complement to the burger... my hubs got an avocado bacon burger and that was ok. He wasn't as impressed. I'll need to come back and try their NEW Korean style chicken sandwich which I hear is GREAT too. Lots of friendly staff. It was a very enjoyable experience!!

Good burgers, so delicious, I ordered Korean Burger and Avocado Bacon burger. The Beef was so tender and taste of the sauce so good. I also ordered chocolate milk shakes with marshmallow on it. The place is clean, good service, helpful staffs. Oh and the restroom is very clean. I will come again

This is the third time I've tried Shake Shack, and it's absolutely DISGUSTING. I've had it in Vegas, Manhattan, and now again tonight, when I was desperate and driving home late, so my sister and I decided to give it another shot. The cheese tastes like spray cheese and has a mucousy texture, while the meat is overcooked and paper-thin. I paid $15 for the double avocado, and they literally gave me a tiny sliver of avocado, cut in half, as shown in the photo. I really miss In-N-Out, where the burgers are only around $5. Honestly, I wouldn't feed this to anyone except violent offenders. I can't believe I moved here from California.

Coworkers and I have been waiting for this location to open and we went today for our inaugural lunch visit. I've been to multiple other locations so I'm familiar with their offerings. The place was packed (as expected) but there were plenty of friendly staff to greet us and help direct customers to the kiosks for self ordering or lines for assisted ordering with a cashier. Ordered at a kiosk which was quick and easy. We dined in and they bring the food to your table. Plenty of seating inside and also outdoor which will be nice when the weather warms up. Food came up quickly and our orders had no mistakes. I ordered the Smoke Shack (double) with a side order of fries. Another person from my group also got the loaded fries which looked even better. I should have gotten a shake but I guess that's leaving something for my next visit. Food was really good and the place was spotless. Hope they can maintain this level of quality, cleanliness, and service. Well done for opening week!!!!

    Menu

This new shack has just been built and offers plenty of seating inside and outside. Due to it being a new store there's a lot of staff and managers from other stores and everything is clean. Everyone is nice and the food came out within 10 minutes and is brought to a table if you dine in. I ordered a smoke shack which has cheese, bacon, cherry peppers, and shack sauce. This burger is good and has a respectable amount of toppings on it. This costs $9 for a single. The new Korean bbq burger tasted the best out of what I ordered and has cheese, scallions, fried onions, and a sweet bbq sauce. This costed about $8. The hot chocolate shake has a rich chocolate flavor and is very good. The coffee and donut shake is disappointing because the coffee flavor is too overpowering. Both came out to be $7 are are limited time shakes. Overall everything the burgers have good flavor and toppings but is too expensive for what it is, considering they aren't full meals. I don't know how to will be when the staff is reduced and they hire their own team but hopefully they still maintain speed, accuracy and cleanliness.

Freddy's puts out a decent fast food burger. Juicy fresh toppings and flavorful. Our orange cream shake went perfect with it. The facility is clean and the staff friendly. Someone even popped out to check on those dining in to make sure everyone was satisfied. A definite plus in my book. As for burgers. Freddy's earns a solid 8 out of 10

If you're not going to read to understand then this review ain't for you…read more I've been to the new Freddy's 4 times and I've waited to review it until I could figure out what was needling me. I got it. I used to pass the one in Linden and was psyched to see one finally make it down our way. Me and hus went soon after they opened and got a burger fries chicken and onion rings. During the initial days they served these matchstick potato sticks. HATED IT. Food was OK but not great. No biggie - it was new. Went back on my own to try the lemon custard one night. My acid reflux said NO MAAM so I got to enjoy it going down - and coming back up. It was good though lol. Me and hus went back a few months later - almost same order as before. Dang near $35. Mind you we coulda gone 2 miles down the road to Chilis or across the street to Shake Shack for the same price and better food. Last week I got a message that it was "national steak burger day." Lmaaoooo I love when niche restaurants and hobbyists make their own day. To celebrate, their burgers were only $1. This was actually the motivation I needed to break through the massive 4ft snow and ice mound township contractors placed at the foot of our driveway. 2 hours later I'm at Freddy's getting a double burger for $1. I finally cracked the code!! Freddys is good - it's just overpriced. And I'm saying that with love. Fast food in general is horrifically priced right now but I felt this way a year, year and a half ago about Freddy's. If the price point was $3 lower for a combo the juice would be worth the squeeze. I realize this may not be possible - please place your pitchforks down. Pros: The restaurant is always sparkling clean Friendly employees Fast and efficient pick up Food is good immediately and after a 20 minute drive home Amazing rewards - USE THE APP for savings. Verdict: the food has improved greatly since the early days. The concept is classic culinary Americana - burgers and shakes. It's just too much money for what you get. I'd go back as lit. As I can leverage my app rewards. Can't do it at full price.

    | Deeply Disappointed -- What Happened to Baithakh?…read more Baithakh used to be one of our favorite go-to spots in North Brunswick. We've always enjoyed the food, but unfortunately, something has definitely changed since our last visit -- and not for the better. We ordered several dishes, including the Baithakh Seekh Kebab Roll, Crispy Fried Chicken Burger, Beef Paya, Beef Nihari, Peshawari Mutton Karahi, and Chicken Malai Boti. To our surprise, nearly everything was a letdown. The Beef Paya and Peshawari Mutton Karahi were both swimming in oil and severely lacked flavor, which was shocking considering how good they used to be. The Fried Chicken Burger had decent seasoning, but the chicken itself was tough and rubbery -- almost inedible. The Chicken Malai Boti was okay, but even that wasn't as tender or flavorful as we've had here before. Maybe they've changed chefs or recipes, but the quality just isn't the same anymore. Baithakh had never failed us before, but this visit was a major disappointment. Sadly, we're giving it a 2 out of 5 stars. We hope they find their way back to the standard that once made them great.

Luca's Ristorante is a hidden gem that proves you should never judge a restaurant by its parking lot. Not long after we were seated, we were greeted by Luca -- a Luca and not the Luca. Still he was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about his restaurant, taking the time to walk us through the menu and checking in throughout the meal without ever hovering. Luca's has a partial liquor license, offering a modest wine selection but is otherwise being BYOB. As we were told with a smile, they're much more interested in what's ON your plate than what's IN your glass. We started with two excellent appetizers. The arancini, already a family favorite, were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and disappeared from the table faster than anyone was willing to admit. The Polpette, Luca's signature meatballs with pine nuts and raisins, certainly earned the praise they've received from NJ.com as some of the best in the state. Even if raisins in meatballs sound unusual, trust the process. The restaurant proudly calls itself "A Taste of Ischia," the beautiful volcanic island in the Bay of Naples, and the seafood absolutely lives up to that promise. My squid ink pasta with octopus (the Polypus) was outstanding, with perfectly tender octopus and beautifully balanced flavors. The scallops were buttery, sweet, and cooked to perfection, while the Ischia -- loaded with mussels, clams, and calamari -- was every seafood lover's dream. The rest of the menu proved just as impressive. The Pappardelle, featuring burrata and a rich Bolognese sauce, was a huge hit, while the Romolo, a comforting combination of chicken, pasta, bacon, and sauce, was another winner that had no leftovers to speak of. If you somehow still have room after dinner, Luca's offers a nice assortment of gelato. But do yourself one favor: don't leave without ordering a cappuccino. Rich, foamy, and expertly made, it's the perfect finale to a memorable meal. If you find yourself in Somerset, just a few turns off Routes 287 or 1, make the stop. You'll be greeted by a wonderful staff, treated to outstanding food, and very likely leave wondering how a restaurant this good has been hiding in a strip mall all along.
