Freddy's puts out a decent fast food burger. Juicy fresh toppings and flavorful. Our orange cream shake went perfect with it. The facility is clean and the staff friendly. Someone even popped out to check on those dining in to make sure everyone was satisfied. A definite plus in my book. As for burgers. Freddy's earns a solid 8 out of 10

If you're not going to read to understand then this review ain't for you…read more I've been to the new Freddy's 4 times and I've waited to review it until I could figure out what was needling me. I got it. I used to pass the one in Linden and was psyched to see one finally make it down our way. Me and hus went soon after they opened and got a burger fries chicken and onion rings. During the initial days they served these matchstick potato sticks. HATED IT. Food was OK but not great. No biggie - it was new. Went back on my own to try the lemon custard one night. My acid reflux said NO MAAM so I got to enjoy it going down - and coming back up. It was good though lol. Me and hus went back a few months later - almost same order as before. Dang near $35. Mind you we coulda gone 2 miles down the road to Chilis or across the street to Shake Shack for the same price and better food. Last week I got a message that it was "national steak burger day." Lmaaoooo I love when niche restaurants and hobbyists make their own day. To celebrate, their burgers were only $1. This was actually the motivation I needed to break through the massive 4ft snow and ice mound township contractors placed at the foot of our driveway. 2 hours later I'm at Freddy's getting a double burger for $1. I finally cracked the code!! Freddys is good - it's just overpriced. And I'm saying that with love. Fast food in general is horrifically priced right now but I felt this way a year, year and a half ago about Freddy's. If the price point was $3 lower for a combo the juice would be worth the squeeze. I realize this may not be possible - please place your pitchforks down. Pros: The restaurant is always sparkling clean Friendly employees Fast and efficient pick up Food is good immediately and after a 20 minute drive home Amazing rewards - USE THE APP for savings. Verdict: the food has improved greatly since the early days. The concept is classic culinary Americana - burgers and shakes. It's just too much money for what you get. I'd go back as lit. As I can leverage my app rewards. Can't do it at full price.

The staff are friendly and they also sell celebration cakes. The reason I'm giving this place a star less is because I didn't find the cream of couple of flavors sweet enough. I tried Pecan butter and Rum and Raisin and wished they hit a sweet spot but they didn't. The parking is spacious as it's attached to the shopping center.

Service wasn't brisk but why should it be when customers are ordering custom combinations that would give a Starbucks barista ulcers. Häagen-Dazs may have had super premium origins in the 80s but it is now owned by food conglomerate General Mills so, it's not exactly a boutique creamery. I ordered two scoops of chocolate and had it in 45 seconds. And then there's the guy behind me who's bitching and moaning at the cost. Well, I suspect you can buy a gallon of Breyer's at ShopRite for pennies on the dollar and eat it in the parking lot. But that's not exactly what I'd call living the dream. I suspect I could also chew on a raw filet mignon in my basement for twenty bucks but I'd much rather go to Peter Luger's - go for it Rockefeller, your date will be very impressed. Häagen-Dazs is fine. It just is what it is. Five stars.

    | Deeply Disappointed -- What Happened to Baithakh?…read more Baithakh used to be one of our favorite go-to spots in North Brunswick. We've always enjoyed the food, but unfortunately, something has definitely changed since our last visit -- and not for the better. We ordered several dishes, including the Baithakh Seekh Kebab Roll, Crispy Fried Chicken Burger, Beef Paya, Beef Nihari, Peshawari Mutton Karahi, and Chicken Malai Boti. To our surprise, nearly everything was a letdown. The Beef Paya and Peshawari Mutton Karahi were both swimming in oil and severely lacked flavor, which was shocking considering how good they used to be. The Fried Chicken Burger had decent seasoning, but the chicken itself was tough and rubbery -- almost inedible. The Chicken Malai Boti was okay, but even that wasn't as tender or flavorful as we've had here before. Maybe they've changed chefs or recipes, but the quality just isn't the same anymore. Baithakh had never failed us before, but this visit was a major disappointment. Sadly, we're giving it a 2 out of 5 stars. We hope they find their way back to the standard that once made them great.

The strip mall itself isn't anything special, but the surrounding area is beautiful , and once you're inside, the restaurant feels warm and inviting. The food is fantastic, and the variety on the menu is impressive. The chef clearly knows what they're doing because every single dish we tried was genuinely delicious. It's the kind of spot where you can't go wrong: date night, dinner with friends, or anything in between. We brought our own bottle and had a great time. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The staff even joked around with me when I forgot my to‑go bag, and yes, I absolutely took it home because the food is that good. I also appreciate that they don't act like offering takeout is beneath them; even the takeout bag was nice. I honestly wish my meals were this good every night. I hope everyone who works here is paid well and enjoys what they do, because they're running the place exactly how a restaurant should be run. It feels like a true community staple somewhere that transports you a bit and makes the whole experience feel special. Lovely all around.

Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall is one of those places you almost don't want to tell people…read moreabout--because then you'll have a harder time getting a table. Luca's Ristorante is a hidden gem that proves you should never judge a restaurant by its parking lot. Not long after we were seated, we were greeted by Luca -- a Luca and not the Luca. Still he was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about his restaurant, taking the time to walk us through the menu and checking in throughout the meal without ever hovering. Luca's has a partial liquor license, offering a modest wine selection but is otherwise being BYOB. As we were told with a smile, they're much more interested in what's ON your plate than what's IN your glass. We started with two excellent appetizers. The arancini, already a family favorite, were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and disappeared from the table faster than anyone was willing to admit. The Polpette, Luca's signature meatballs with pine nuts and raisins, certainly earned the praise they've received from NJ.com as some of the best in the state. Even if raisins in meatballs sound unusual, trust the process. The restaurant proudly calls itself "A Taste of Ischia," the beautiful volcanic island in the Bay of Naples, and the seafood absolutely lives up to that promise. My squid ink pasta with octopus (the Polypus) was outstanding, with perfectly tender octopus and beautifully balanced flavors. The scallops were buttery, sweet, and cooked to perfection, while the Ischia -- loaded with mussels, clams, and calamari -- was every seafood lover's dream. The rest of the menu proved just as impressive. The Pappardelle, featuring burrata and a rich Bolognese sauce, was a huge hit, while the Romolo, a comforting combination of chicken, pasta, bacon, and sauce, was another winner that had no leftovers to speak of. If you somehow still have room after dinner, Luca's offers a nice assortment of gelato. But do yourself one favor: don't leave without ordering a cappuccino. Rich, foamy, and expertly made, it's the perfect finale to a memorable meal. If you find yourself in Somerset, just a few turns off Routes 287 or 1, make the stop. You'll be greeted by a wonderful staff, treated to outstanding food, and very likely leave wondering how a restaurant this good has been hiding in a strip mall all along.
