What I love about this location is I can take a walk ("exercise") by crossing the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan and then end up here. I expected a line and full seating at this location but was surprised that we were able to get a table quite fast. Very lucky! Although the tables were full, the line here goes by fast and I feel that the wait time is decent. The person at the register this day was nice as well. I just went in to order some burgers and saw something that is most shocking and disgusting. As I approached the counter, there was no one at the register. No one tried to take my order. I was a little bummed out but that was not what was shocking or disgusting. As I waited for someone to come to the register, I saw one of the workers in the back literally sniffing the food and ingredients with his nose nearly touching the food. Our time in New York was limited an I knew I wouldn't get to Coney Island for a dog so I decided to try the shake-cago dog. I love the design of this location. The lines are short, one can sit inside or outside with a gorgeous view of the Brooklyn bridge . Thw bathroom was super cleans and the food arrived fast. I had lunch around 115 pm so hopefully that was before the afternoon rush. It did not feel super crowded or touristy like Grimaldi's right up the block. My friend visiting from Texas insisted on going to Shake Shack (apparently his tradition every time he visits NYC) and specifically this location because he wanted to walk around Dumbo. This location is super spacey and the turn around time is super quick, however, it's not the cleanest. I do appreciate that they leave wet wipes out near the garbage can though, so I can do a better job of cleaning the tables and chairs. The food is as I remember, with the double shack stack burger being delicious a f but not quite big enough to be a filling meal, but paired with fries, it's just right. The Cherry Hibiscus Lemonade hits the spot so well, especially on a hot and humid summer day. read more

The location itself is great, it's right across the street from the pier. The store is spacious and there is an adequate amount of seating. Truth be told, I only visited this location to try their ChickenShack, otherwise, UWS and Madison Square Park all the way! The food: ChickenShack- Crispy chicken breast with lettuce, pickles and buttermilk herb mayo. I thought the ChickenShack was decent, I thought the breast could use more flavor, the pickles were the predominant flavor and it was too aggressive for me and the buttermilk herb mayo was basically nonexistent. The breast was nicely fried and it had a really nice crunchy exterior but didn't offer much in terms of flavor. The sandwich was served on a nice squishy Martin's potato roll, which was nice. The neighborhood of Dumbo continues to shake things up. The ongoing construction in Brooklyn Bridge Park and renovations to old warehouses down by the waterfront are making the area a more desirable place to spend an afternoon. And now they have a Shake Shack! I'm sure many of you have been to other SS's in the city... this one is similar... but here are a few things you'll want to know about this particular Shack: The location is great - offering up fantastic views of Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline. There was a long-ish line when I popped in around 12:30pm recently but moved quickly. When I left 30 mins later the line was 2x as long. Things can get a little cramped by the condiment/plasticware counter. After you order - get your napkin, straw and little plastic cup of ketchup and move out the way. Your buzzer will still work anywhere in the restaurant. The dining rooms are spacious and have a variety of tables, booths and benches for whatever your shape and size. Bathrooms are large and relatively clean... Service was quick and friendly... And the food came out quickly and was delicious. The Shake Shack cheeseburger continues to be one of my favorite burgers in the city. Juicy burgers, melty cheese, soft potato rolls. Yum yum yum. Oh and the crinkle fries are backkkk!!! I love this spot in DUMBO, the food and atmosphere are great! It is right by the river with beautiful park alongside, and you can see the NYC skyline. The interior is all wood, as all other Shake Shake joints, but this one has cute ship decorations on the wall here and there. YES! Finally came back to NY to try the CHICKENSHACK which they only have in Brooklyn. Thick crispy coating, perfectly fried. My friend sitting next to me heard the crunch upon biting. It was that fresh. The bread was as soft as it gets and the pickles inside gave it that kick it needed. It was GOOD, I would have it again. Also tried the new Roadside Burger (bacon caramelized onions) which was FINE. It wasn't mind blowing but definitely juicy and so soft. I didn't care for the cheese they use. Crinkle cut fries are a must. They were a perfect ratio of starch and crisp. I was happy to learn that Brooklyn Brewery design a beer for Shake Shack. The Shakemeister Summer Ale was such a good beer I think it is one of my top ten now. Not a bad burger. Came here at 2:20 pm on a Friday. I had the single Smoke Shack burger. My issue with it is that the special sauce was spread unevenly over the burger. The first half of the burger had almost no sauce, but the second half was rich with it. Bacon was nice and crisp and burger was cooked well. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch. The prices are a bit expensive. For just that one burger and a small soda, it was $10.87. In my standards, that's overpriced, but hey that's NY for ya. I came here around 11:20am on a Friday. It was not really busy here and the menu was on the right wall near the register. I had looked at the menu online before to get an idea of what to order. I ordered the Shack Stack ($9.59), Fries ($2.99), and a large soda ($2.80). I received a pager and sat down. A few minutes later, my food was ready and I went to pick it up at the counter. The Shack Stack was delicious and it looked like a lot of food at first. The big mushroom in it was good and definitely worth trying if you loved mushrooms. The Fries were crinkle cut fries and were good in my opinion. Crinkle cut fries were one of my favorite fries in general. One thing to know about this place was the bathroom was only for paying customers. There was a keypad on the two doors so you would need the code found at the bottom of receipt. This place was great and had a view of the Brooklyn Bridge which was right next to this place. It got busy around 11:45am with almost no tables available. Come early if you can! read more

First time having Shake Shack in two years and around 6 months. I had loved Shake Shack back then before I left for SD, and sorely missed it while in California. Coming back and getting a bite, I was excited. But looking at the price now and the taste...it was the deal breaker. The burger wasn't cooked thoroughly and you could see the red, which I was okay with, but the taste just wasn't the same. I was crying tears internally as I sighed and finished the Shack Burger. I get that food will no longer taste the same, but the meat not cooked more thoroughly which can be dangerous to some. I have to say Shake Shack, it's been a long time, and I'm sorry for the long wait. I still love your fries but not so much your burger. In N Out has stolen my heart for that, for the taste and the price. It was nice knowing you plus I can get your crinkle fries anywhere. My boyfriend also gotten the Shake Stack which came out to $10. His comparison was that he had to take 3-4 bites to get the flavor of the burger rather than just taking a bite of In-N-Out which you taste in the first bite. Very good place..They will be crowded but they get you in and out real fast. The people taking orders were very friendly answering any one questions without being aggravated. Very personal and professional. The food just put the place over the top. Best burger I've treated myself to in years. And I us the double cheese and some cheese bacon fries. Melted perfectly. Couldn't ask for a better meal after walking the Brooklyn bridge. They have shakes but i did not try it but they looked good as I watched a few with them The are limited on seating. MUSTAFA was so awesome!! Shack Shack is always a good idea even though the lines make you feel like you've made a mistake. This location was no different. Line out the doors on a nice sunny day and lines waiting for a table. I had some words with someone, but thankfully (for her) it didn't escalate ;) My burger was not cooked well done as requested and the lemonade was not the correct flavor, but I'm glad I had an issue because I had the pleasure of interacting with Mustafa! He has such a nice and warm smile and a great attitude for dealing with people. He was in the area that handed out orders that are ready and when I mentioned I had an issue - he said no problem and had them make me another burger - same thing for my drink after I got back to my seat and realized that it wasn't the right flavor. He was going to bring it to where we were sitting, but they were so busy and I didn't want to inconvenience him so I waited. So nice! Hands down, the best Shake Shack. and favorite burger joint hehe Quality of the food is never disappointing, even with the high volume of customers they get (tourists and whatnot).
