Great burger- big enough for me to split with a friend. They make it to order so it is fresh and just how you want it. Service is quick and attentive. Ambiance was minimalist and modern industrial style. read more

This was my first time visiting any Shake Shack location, here in Columbia, Maryland. I was actually surprised during my visit, because I was really thinking that this was going to be one of those awesome 5-star experiences, but it just wasn't. As I approached this business, I found the outside to be clean and the landscaping was pleasant. After entering, I was immediately faced with a bunch of kiosks for customers to place their orders. I just don't like kiosks. To me, this just shows me a business that is trying to reduce their customer service by not hiring cashiers and making the customer perform the cashier's job with no cost benefit to the customer. After placing my order, I was then questioned with how much I would like to tip. I found this to be even more annoying. What am I tipping for? The quality of the food?...I haven't eaten it yet. The quality of the service?...I haven't received any yet. Tipping BEFORE any experience is ridiculous and presumptuous. To me, tipping is a way for the customer to show that they are satisfied (or highly satisfied) with the experience they have had AFTER they have had it. I ended up ordering the double SmokeShack Burger, which comes with two beef patties, cheese, bacon, cherry peppers, and ShackSauce. The burger was really delicious, but I was surprised by how small it was for being a double. I also ordered the Bacon Cheese Fries, which are crinkle cut French fries topped with cheese sauce and bacon. This was pretty good too, but not as good as I thought it would be. For my drink I was going to get a soda-pop, but then I decided to try their Shack-Made Lemonade. It tasted weird, and I regretted getting it. I was served at my table by a server who delivered my food without saying a word. While eating my meal, I noticed that the inside of the restaurant looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. In fact, I did not see anyone cleaning anything inside during my entire visit. Even more disturbing was the lack of friendliness of the employees. I kid you not, there were about a dozen people working here during my visit and I did not see a single employee crack a smile...not for anyone. While leaving, I decided to order their Chocolate Blackout Pudding Shake. After getting back to my hotel with this for dessert, I only had a few spoonfuls. Again, this tasted weird. I ended up throwing out 90% of it because it just wasn't very tasty. In total, I spent over $33, which is a ridiculously high cost for one fast food meal. In comparison with my favorite fast food restaurant, In-N-Out (primarily in the western U.S.), I can get a similar meal at In-N-Out for about HALF the cost. I don't know about you, but if I pay substantially more I expect a substantially better experience. I hope that the other Shake Shack businesses don't operate like this one; This was NOT a worthwhile experience, especially considering the cost. read more

It's been a while since I've been back to this Shake Shack, but the addition of 3 new mobile ordering monitors seemed a good idea to me. At first I did f like the personal interfacing, but I quickly got used to liking it more! The pictures on the touch screen proved colorful, accurate, and helpful. At check out, the screen prompts you to add your name and to pick an order number from the available numbers stacked on the counter. It was not immediately there, but we put "67"! So we waited for our number to be called! It made us smile! We ordered the Shack Burger, Cheese Fries, and regular Vanilla Shake all of which cost a lot more than it should. All this to still say that the food was still very good. The burger patty on the Shack Burger is "smash" grilled with the perfect crunch and give and was oh so delicious. The crinkle cut fries had a cheese topping that is very creamy, not too runny, and is just perfect! The Vanilla shake was so good, we polished it off before we could take a photo! This place wasn't very busy for a late Tuesday afternoon, there was LOTS of available eat in seating to be had. The bathrooms here were clean too! Parking is always free because it's part of a mall/strip mall, hooray for FREE parking! read more

3.4.25 It's been a while since I last went there. I received an email with a promotion for a chicken combo for $9.99 which includes a small fry and fountain soda. Hubby and I stopped by for dinner. I ordered the chicken combo and he ordered a burger and small fry. We placed the our order on the kiosk. We were looking for the chicken combo, but couldn't find it. It wasn't as intuitive as we thought. We asked for assistance and were told that we had to select each item individually, not as a combo, and upon check out, enter the promo code. We received a number to place at our table. The food was brought out to us. Hubby and I split our chicken and burger. I thought the chicken sandwich and fries were good, but would've preferred the fries to be cooked longer so they were crispier. Hubby said that he prefers the chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A. I thought the burger was good but very small. He said that he prefers the burgers at Five Guys. Burgers at Five Guys can definitely be more filling if you add more toppings. Overall, a good experience, but a bit pricey, given the portion size and that they don't have combos available. read more

Looking for burgers and fries plus beer and veggie options? This is a great place to grab then quickly. They typically have a lot of offers on the app throughout the month and their food always taste the same, so consistency is great in that aspect. Currently they have a buy one get one free double stack until Halloween. I haven't yet taken advantage of it but I think I just may. The last time I visited, I took advantage of a free sandwich deal with purchase of fries, I believe. Is definitely convenient to order and the app and pick up but you can also order in the store as well. read more

Shake Shack is amazing. I've been here a few times now, and each time the quality is consistent. The burgers are on the pricier side, but worth it! My favorite is the avocado bacon burger and my husband likes getting the smoke shack burger. We like to get the fried pickles to share. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and I feel like the wait isn't long. read more

What lengths would you go to to purchase Shake Shack's Black Truffle Burger? (100% Angus beef "topped with Gruyere cheese and black truffle sauce") Their Christmas Cookie Shake? ("sugar cookie frozen custard topped with whipped cream and frozen sprinkles") Their Chocolate Yule Log Shake? ("chocolate frozen custard hand-spun with pieces of chocolate cake and whipped cream") Would you risk soundlessly tiptoeing past Death Angels, human-devouring aliens blessed with Formula One-like speed and echolocation, as Eric does for a special slice of pizza for Sam in Director/Writer Michael Sarnoski's emotionally-resonant 2024 film A Quiet Place: Day One? If you chose to do so, and you had the means to get to 10300 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia, Maryland, the angular gray fast-food restaurant that is Shake Shake would summon your bravery and beckon your taste buds. There, I am confident the service would be great, with or without the terrifying predators from the Quiet Place franchise. read more

Ordered via app. Pretty accurate timeframe for pickup. Packaging and presentation was cute. Unfortunately custom Burger was super super salty. Not sure what happened. Could only eat half. Overall: I wish I could give this place a 3.5. The employees are really kind, but for a fast casual spot I find the food to be overpriced and the wait to be long. The ambiance is cleaner than fast food and has both indoor and outdoor seating. They have at least one employee out and about the dining area to support customers which I find really helpful and the one there yesterday was super kind. The burgers are good and the fries are okay, but if I'm going to pay 8 dollars for just a burger and have to pay separately for the fries, I'm expecting more. The menu is simple, which I like, but I do wish they had the option of sweet potato fries. I prefer to order online because it's more clear about what you can customize on your burger and then you don't have to wait so long there. I like that they offer Old Bay at their condiment station- it's a real nice MD touch. I wish they had some other condiments there than ketchup though. Their shakes taste good, but they are so sweet that I leave feeling sick if I even share one. read more

Was craving Shake Shack and a promo pushed me to go. First time trying their famous smashburgers and my takeaway is their portions felt too small. Unhappy with what I paid for over what I received. I feel less so when I go to other restaurants of similar pricing. And not like the burgers were that great anyway. Great crust and seasoning, but didn't get a lot of meat. Yes its a smashburger, but if you smash a thin piece already, the patty served turns to a pita chip. Wouldn't go again. read more

I love the cookies & cream shake. Their burgers and fries are solid too. I like there is a water station with courtesy cups as well. They are relatively fast even when a bit busy. The store is clean, and I like they also have an outdoor eating area as an option. My biggest compliant is that the Shake Shack app isn't user friendly, but on a positive they put the kiosks to order and use any discounts with codes on the larger tablet screens than trying to do on your phone. But they replaced the cashiers with the kiosks, but there is someone who will come out to help, which I see people need help often. I know my mom struggled with it at a different location, I tried to help, but ultimately we had to get a helper. Additionally, I don't like that they assume people want to pay with a credit card. Without a cashier, you can't give cash. That I find annoying. Although I use credit at least 95% of the time in general, I want to have the option to pay cash. I know my mom had wanted to pay cash at the other location but was forced to do credit, but Columbia & all the Shake Shacks are the same regarding this. read more

SOLID! hamburger. You cannot go wrong with shake shack burgers. They are OG famous for a reason. Hamburger patties are juicy. Can tell they use good meat. The only downside is that the size is a little steep for how small the burger is, but the taste -- is totally worth it. I would recommend ordering through the app and picking up, it's much faster that way. Today was a HOT day (90 degrees) but they didn't have AC on. It was brutal read more

Wanted to specifically shout out this man, expo'ing the food. It is BUSY here on a Saturday night, but he is cool calm and collected. He's come up with creative solutions (like finding a spot for a big group of homecoming kids so they'd have a table to sit together and the lobby would clear out). He's clearly respected by his team as they all respond immediately to his requests without annoyance. He's on top of every order coming out, making sure everyone gets 100% of their order correct before sending them off. He's been friendly and above and beyond helpful while working with expedience. Dinner with the teenager! Shake shack is always so good!! It never failed!! The kid and I were out at Columbia Mall and what does a 15 year oils want other than Shake Shack. This location was almost completely self service! They have on screen menus for ordering and self seating! I ordered the cheese fries and Shack burger! The kid ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries! She also ordered a lemonade! The food was great as usual! You can almost never go wrong with Shake Shack! I also order pick up from this location from time to time using the app! So, I got some food delivered to my house. All I ordered was a double cheeseburger with shack sauce, fries, and lemonade. But little did I know I was in for a surprise. I got my burger with bacon on it. Normally, someone would be like, "Oh cool bacon mmm" but I do not eat pork. I removed the pieces of bacon and ate the burger. I was very nervous because I could still taste the bacon... juice. Bacon juice. I don't know if the bacon juice has pork in it but if it didn't it added the bacon flavor. read more

It's just okay. The food was not bad, it was not great. It was mediocre. It really wasn't much difficult or better than a fast food burger (McDonald's or Burger King). Value... it's not worth it. I ordered the shack burger and crinkle fries online. It was super easy to order and it was ready to pick up within 10 minutes. Shack burger: even though it's a fast food type of burger, it definitely taste higher quality. The patty was bigger than the bun. This was a simple, classic burger that I could see myself ordering over and over. Crinkle fries: I was surprised by how much they give you. I thought it wasn't going to be a lot but they definitely did fill the basket. The fries were hot, salted, and perfect. I'd come back to try other items on the menu! read more

Customer service needs to be taught there. I made my order at 2:00 pm and it is 2:40 and when I ask where is my food they give me a poor excuse saying they're short staffed when I'm watching the girl bring everybody food but mine. Then she says they called my name and I'm a dine in customer, that means you get a number and wait at your table. Then doesn't even apologize! Just tells me they making it now. Today was my first time having a chicken sandwich from Shake Shack and to be honest, it was disappointing. Not only was it "small," it was bland and for $7, it just didn't do it for me. I could have gotten a much more flavorful, bigger and cheaper sandwich from Popeyes! I also got a side for fries and it was just ok. I didn't feel satisfied with this meal. I'm not a huge fan of Shake Shack in general and I've only visited their DC locations, but decided to give them a try since I was just leaving the mall and wanted something quick. I was pleasantly surprised how well a busy place like this handled ordering & dining during a pandemic. We opted to eat outside and they asked where we'd like to sit so they could bring our meals out. The doors are kept open and you have to social distance in line. There's plastic so you aren't face to face with the cashier as well. The food: fire as always. I had a single shack cheese burger--you can't find a better casual dining burger. Bottom Line: Fast Food joint at Columbia Mall serving good burgers; friendly staff to. I needed a quick lunch while in the area so I ducked into Shake Shack. Shake Shack is located at the Columbia Mall but on the exterior of the mall by the movie theater. Thankfully it was easy to get to - I parked in the wide open Nordstrom parking lot, ascended the exterior stairwell and took a short walk down the sidewalk. For my meal I had the classic Shackburger - the cute name they give to a typical burger. But if you have beef with beef they also offer chicken, hot dogs and even several vegetarian option. I know a lot of people love crinkle fries but they are not really my thing so I dressed up my order with cheese. I loved the burger and the fries were just ok. I appreciate that Shake Shack has a fairly large menu consisting of the aforementioned items, plus various flavors of fries and lots of desserts including custard. For beverages, they offer Coca-Cola products, root beer and I think some teas or juices. Overall, a nice selection. It took about 12 minutes or so for my food and drink to come up. I wish they provided drinks when you paid and that they were self-service for quick refills. Service was very friendly and organized but it was so incredibly loud inside! It wasn't very busy but its kinda an open kitchen and there are tall ceilings. Add in a few noisy kids and the decibel level was too much for me so I enjoyed a quiet table on the side walk. Overall, it was a good lunch and I definitely wish there was a Shake Shack closer to my house. read more

Another great experience at Shake Shack Columbia! I went with two good friends last night for dinner, one of them being my best friend who has never been to Shale Shack before! I ordered cheese fries, a double cheeseburger, and a small coke. My best friend ordered a smoke shack with a small cookies and cream and some fries. While our friend ordered a hot dog, chicken bites, fries, and a large lemonade! I forget how much my friend spent, but my best friend spent around $17 and was apprehensive about the quality. All of our food came out relatively quickly (maybe 10 minutes after we all paid. My food was amazing as always and my friend liked his too. But my best friend was a skeptic but he bit into the burger and he LOVED his food. We all agreed that Shake Shack has fresh beef. I personally think it's so fresh that I am convinced they are slaughtering the cows fresh in the back! LOL! At the end of the day, Shake Shack is exceptionally consistent, and I have never had a bad experience at this place and will continue to patron this brand for many years to come. read more
