    Fresh halal being prepared

Over a decade ago, there were food trucks that sell Halal combos for $2-$3 along Queens Blvd so I was surprised to see that Shah's Halal has a similar offering! When I saw the $2.99 Happy Platter special, i just had to try it! You have a choice of lamb or chicken served on top of yellow rice and sprinkled with bits of lettuce. The size is smaller than the ones sold in food trucks but it is just the right portion to satisfy my Halal food cravings - the ones from the food trucks are bigger and I end up overeating. The lamb was moist and very tasty but the chicken was dry. There was plenty of meat and rice for the price is. This place closes late at 3AM. Add this to your go-to spot for late night/early morning cheap, yummy eats!

Delicious halal food, very speedy service and clean restaurant! The staff recommended the chicken and lamb combo! I've had bigger portions for cheaper at a halal cart though but this is a great tasting fast option!

I ordered their 2 piece chicken only for take out. They were quick. The chicken itself wasn't too bad. Again it was on par with Church's fried chicken. The skin was crispy and not too dry. It wasn't too expensive. The store was brightly lit and pretty clean. I can't speak for the other food but the fried chicken was ok.

Lamb over rice, chicken over rice or combo over rice $7.99, no drink included. I found this a little odd because most of the Shah's haha stands always include a soda. I ordered two combos over rice without the salad. I found their halal food to be on the sour side which I found a bit weird. I had it with white sauce, green sauce, and hot sauce. At first I thought maybe the green sauce made it sour but I order halal with green sauce at other Shah's and other halal stands and it was never this sour. I still prefer the Shah's halal outside of Queens College. Bigger portion and includes soda.

Happy this place opened here. Best halal food in the area. Wide variety of veggies to add into you chicken/lamb/combo over rice or gyro.

They do have plenty of indoor seating, but it's more of a fast food setup than a dine-in instead of a restaurant. The person taking our order at the front was super nice and friendly. Didn't rush us at all. It's also one of those places where you seat yourself and clean up after yourself. Foodwise, my friend and I both got combo meals, which comes with fries and a drink. I got the four wing combo and tried the Spicy Fevy's 2.0 sauce on the side. The wings were good, but the sauce wasn't really that spicy at all. Very mild. Still a great spot if you want a quick bite and if you're looking for Halal KFC.

Also, both sauces on the sweeter side rather than savory. Just a note for those that prefer savory wings. The Parmesan fries were good too. Our order included two drinks, so we got the milk tea and Korean orange soda (the one with mandarin pulp inside- haven't had one of these in so long!) Portion sizes were decent and service was great. Looking forward to ordering from Fevy's again in the future!

I went during Ramadan with my partner to break my fast, and they were so accommodating. Tip: call them to make a quick reservation beforehand. Next, onto the food. We ordered the dumplings, lamb stew with naan, and their special noodles. Everything was absolutely mind blowing. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and fell right off the bone. The bread was soaked in flavor. The noodles are perfect for a cold night. The noodles are mixed in house and fresh, and you can definitely taste the difference in fresh noodles and store brought. Their service was impeccable. Our host was gracious and greeted us in Arabic as soon as we walked in. He took our order fairly quickly, and the food did not take that long to come out. Whenever he spoke, he had his hand over his heart and was so friendly. I cannot speak anything but praise about this place. It's amazing and I plan to go there soon again with my whole family. Everything was delicious and this restaurant could easily be one of the top 10 restaurants I've ever been to in my life.

What a way to end the week…read more Since moving to Brooklyn, I have had my fair share of Lagman, a popular dish in Uyghur cuisine. Cafe Kashkar in Brighton Beach, Nargis Cafe in Sheepshead Bay, this is the dish that keeps on giving. Until eating here. I will just keep this one all to myself. Everything here is right, on top of right, on top of right, on top of right. Friendly, fast, and efficient service. A pretty ambiance that does not hit you over the head with a walking stick, and some of the best Lagman I have eaten this side of the East River. These folks know what they are doing. To come here and not order some naan is a huge insult, so I did that. Even that is done properly. The naan is light and full of flavor. It needs no oil or anything to spruce it up. Enjoy it for what it is. The Lagman hits all the right notes, checking every box that Lagman needs to have. Ample and flavorful meat? Check. Fresh hand pulled noodles that are also ample? Check. Crispy, sautéed vegetables? Check. About a quarter of the way through my meal, one of the owners came up to me and offered me chili oil to put in the dish. I obliged as I learned from Cafe Kashkar the importance of adding flavor to this dish. It really does elevate everything on the plate and brings all those flavors that are already on the plate, forward. Everything is rather affordable as well. Before the New York Times finds out about this little hole in the wall and blows this restaurant's cover, I will close this review by simply stating this restaurant is a winner, without all the aforementioned accolades.

I've had a lot of halal in Queens and this is hands down my new favorite spot! Not only are the workers friendly but the clientele they attract are also nice and welcoming and chatty and really live this spot as well. I ordered the chicken platter as is with extra white sauce and a side of white sauce. Yes, that sauce is amazing!! You can eat there but i took my order to go. It did not disappoint! Flavor of rice chicken and fries were awesome! Fries held up even after taking it home and being covered in takeout container. My only gripe is the chicken to rice ratio. Wayyy more rice than chicken. I would love them to be more equal so I don't have so much rice to throw out/save after. The platter was a meal enough for two! And for a great price. Definitely coming back!

I love how reliable this spot is when I need some late night halal food. They listed their business hours from 9 am to 4 am or 5 am on weekends - these are some very long business hours! My go to orders is the combo platter with chicken and lamb over rice, fries, and salad with all the sauces and their lunch special buy one get one gyro (applicable to chicken, lamb, combo, or falafel only)! The chicken and lamb meats are well seasoned and not dry at all. The platters are huge which justifies the higher price point and food is much more fresh and delicious compared to most carts in Queens. Recently, I tried the fried fish rice platter and it was delicious - fish was nicely fried and crispy, and doesn't seem greasy. I would order this again when I need a break from my combo. The platter is usually big enough for my hubs and I to share! Otherwise, it's two meals for me!

The coconut rice, spicy sambal, spiced deep fried chicken, crispy anchovies, peanuts and the fried egg complimented each other. This was a shared dish as my mom and I are tiny eaters but we cleaned the plate on this one. Secret operation was to introduce another restaurant to my mom and she was very pleased with this pick of mine. She grew up eating many forms of Southeast Asian cuisines from her childhood.
