Ordered ubereats. I'm very sad that my favorite Fatima's Halal Kitchen is gone (for now), but this place has been the best Chinese spot I've tried since in my quest to find another good chinese takeout spot. Especially love that the teriyaki beef sticks are just as good. Portions are good (they don't skimp on the meat) and they even listened to our request on the notes section. Will be ordering again! read more

Halal Kitchen - a table full of food - Chinese Near Me - Maspeth, New York

My family and I have been coming to Halal Kitchen for over 20 years. The ambiance and decor are rusty and worn-down and the restaurant no longer offers delivery services (Thanks a lot, Grubhub and UberEats!) so for me, I hop on the Q58 to get to Maspeth. In my opinion, while the prices have fluctuated in the upward direction, the menu items have remained solid and stable. The woman behind the counter, Sana, appears genuine and attentive to a party's needs. Because it is halal, this restaurant is quite popular with patrons from South and Central Asia as well as the Middle East. read more

Halal Kitchen - Shrimp with Garlic sauce accompanied with chicken fried rice. - Chinese Near Me - Maspeth, New York

This is the only Chinese restaurant outside of Chinatown that doesn't put MSG in their food that I know of. (Even a little gives me horrible migraines) When food has quality ingredients and is seasoned properly there's no reason for it to be used. Also, their food is fresh and not greasy. read more

I got this first time for delivery. Good food, very fresh. I Will certainly order again.

Halal Kitchen "Chinese" food is A-OK (3.5Star) in my opinion. First, the food is Halal so that is a big plus for anyone seeking Halal Food :) Second, you will notice the place is clean and does not have a smell. Third, the staff are really nice and attentive. They will bring you complimentary crackers with ducksauce and really fast in bringing the order as they are made, as other places they will wait until all dishes are completed before they bring it !!! I am quiet surprise to see such negative reviews regarding this spot, however me and my family every time we have arrived here were greeted in friendly manner and staff came and asked us how we are doing, how our food is, if there's anything else we need ... I would highly recommend the General Sco Dish, the soup is OK nothing great however I like the Lo Mein. read more

Best Halal Chinese food around, my family and I would die for Fatima's but now this is our go to! We order at least once a month

My husband and his family has been coming here for years now. Since, my husband's family eats only Halal food, this spot is one of the closest Chinese Halal joints around Forest Hills, so we decided to order take out from here earlier tonight for a family dinner. Here's some pros and cons about the spot: Service: Great! Friendly and super fast. We ordered a variety of items for dinner pick up. When my husband and I arrived our food was about ready and while we waited, the owner started engaging in small talk with us, about the restaurant and background etc. We enjoyed the friendly conversation while our food was getting packed. Price: Super Cheap! Wow! This place is a winner when it comes to cheap take out! Less than $10 and you can enjoy a large or small side of soup, fried rice, half fried chicken and still have left overs for the next day! Food: Quality of the food is ok, but nothing great. I was a bit disappointed as when we arrived home we noticed that some of our ordered items were wrong. I specifically asked for the Szechuan Chicken to be dry and after confirming it, it was made with gravy. Too late to go back so I had to settle. Though it didn't taste bad (more like a thai version of basil chicken). Soups: We tried their beef wonton egg drop soup and the chicken corn soup. Both delicious with good amounts of meat in them, though my favorite was the beef wonton soup. $2.75 for a sm or about $3.50 for a lg. Can't beat that deal! Rice: We ordered the beef, chicken and shrimp fried rice. I had the shrimp and felt it lacked on the flavor. Also, shrimp was very little (about 4-5 small pieces). Probably won't get it again. Noodles: We ordered the Beef Chow Fun and Chicken Lo Mein. Though not bad, I wasn't a huge fan of the beef chow fun, though my husband enjoyed it. He even had left over for the next day. Their portions are definitely big and prices low as mentioned. Fried Items: Fried chicken was crisp, fresh and tasty. Not oily as most fast food chains so definitely enjoyed that! Fried fish was not bad either. Though I prefer the fried chicken over the fish. Bottom Line: Friendly place, fast service, Halal Chinese and super cheap prices make this place a great stop. Is it something I'd crave though? No. Is it a place I'd drop by if was hungry and on a budget or seeking Halal food? Yes! Until next time... read more

I would highly urge anyone not to get food delivered from here. Their food is at pair with any Chinese take out but their service is atrocious. Often orders are missing and they do not correct it. Will tell you the will add it to your next order. Which is a joke. Food comes comes cold and delivered 2 hours later. Sadly I guess this is the price I paid for eating halal Chinese. Will no longer order from here going forward. read more

So This is my second time ordering from this place, only ordered a second time because I believe in second chances and just like the first time the food was uneditable and tasteless and filled with oil l, oil that tasted like some type of gasoline. I ordered a broccoli with garlic sauce and vegetable lo mien and tso chicken. None was editable, I threw it all out. read more

I enjoyed their food a lot. As I was trying to reduce weight I ordered from their dieter special side which is steamed chicken and vegetables for about $7 they gave garlic sauce on the side and regular rice. On its own the chicken is a pleasure to eat as it's cooked well while still having a pleasant flavor; the sauce was a nice accompaniment. I did not have delivery issues as I used Uber Eats. I would get this order again and likely will soon. read more

I recommend this place because the food was really good and the server was very nice and gave free drinks.and it was a calm place to eat no noise. read more

Just ok on the regular Chinese food scale but pretty good on the halal scale. It's a bit on the pricier side because they're using halal meat. Sanitation is a step higher than the ordinary no-frills Chinese. Workers are nice ppl if you talk to them nice. Used to be really good around a decade ago. Fell of really hard read more

Over a hour and a half wait time to get food is ridiculous in and of itself... but to add to it, delivery guy comes and calls to say "no parking"... so basically come out and get your food. With regards to the food, which at this point we were starving and had built up some level of anticipation... so any thing decent would have been great.. right?! WRONG! Let's start with the lo mein...one thing that a Chinese place shouldn't ever mess up is lo mein... well this place of course messed up... the noodles were congealed and mushy and lacking flavor. A major left down! How do you mess up a staple in Chinese take out?! We also got egg rolls... again should have been ok, but they were not good. Overall, the rest of the food, general tao and kung pao... were just ok...I also ordered a beef dish, which literally had 4 pieces of beef. We've had there food a bunch of times... it's never really great... but this particular time they really out-did themselves. I think we've learned not to order in from here again any time soon. read more

The worst! I ordered chicken wings in garlicsauce and instead got sesame chicken without sesame seeds about an hour later. The chicken in the chicken and broccoli are so chewy they're not even edible. The price didn't match the numbers on the menu. What happened to this place? read more

I love Halal Kitchen Chinese Restaurant. They have excellent quality chinese food at reasonable prices. I love their family style dinners. They have pre-fixe family dinner prices that make it so easy to have an assortment of foods without going over your budget. I especially like their egg rolls, which are fried just perfect, never too greasy like some places. Everything tastes fresh and clean. The hostess/waitress persons are so nice. It really is a nice wholesome atmosphere. Very clean. I highly recommend it. A+ read more

Terrible service . Staff is rude. Food wasn't good. Put a lot of vegetables in the meat dishes. Very, very little meat.

This place was a favorite place too eat..but one Day I was short 35c and they don't want to bring my food.. Not to mention that I order from work and there about 10 people that order with me everyday almost. 35c cost you more money now.. and I will make sure no one Ofer from that place again from my job.. To all future customers, never order delivery from this place. I ordered 3 Szechuan chicken for a family dinner, and literally 95 percent of it was vegetables. There was almost no chicken. I did not order a bunch of grass. It's a scummy move to fill it with vegetables when I ordered Szechuan CHICKEN. It was my first and last order at this place. To the business owners and staff: Please ask yourself, is giving your customer a bunch of grass a good way to earn the customer's loyalty? read more

This place is my absolute favorite. I've been eating here since I was in Junior High School (which is now 9 years!) and the quality of their food has remained great. This is not typical "Chinese food spot" Chinese food like you would find only a few stores down. All their ingredients taste fresh. Their chicken is always amazing (I normally order the Hunan Chicken) and their fried rice is never too oily or greasy, same goes for the egg rolls. I like their Chicken Wonton soup as well, though it may not be for everyone. Overall, I love this place. I'll be going there as long as they're in business. read more

I have been going here for well over 10 years, and will continue to do so as long as they are open! They have quick and efficient service, not a long wait time any of the times I have eaten in or gotten take-out. This is not your typical Chinese food spot, it tastes above average. The food has more flavor and tastes fresh. Their Hunan Chicken is my favorite, their low mein is plentiful and their beef isnt too touch. Their soup is always piping hot and has never once disappointed me. I love the food here, the pricing is good for the amount of food they give you. Will definitely be returning. read more

This is a solid 3, a 3 that you can come back to because its cheap and halal. Located in the town i grew up in, Maspeeeeth. Parking Tip: If heading towards Queens Blvd, park in the neighborhood immediately after you see the restaurant. Go down a bit and you should find a few spots there. For $10 you can literally feed 2 people especially with their great dinner specials. For example, Hunan Chicken with soup and an egg roll. Last time i came here we ordered the dinner for 8 which is more like dinner for 12. 2 types of soups, 3 different appetizers, and 8 entrees. The main issue was that it seems like all the dishes no matter how different the meat was, overlapped each other. It seemed like they just threw stuff together last minute and wa la. CASH ONLY -_- read more

I got a recommendation to come here by a friend of mine. I was very pleased with the food and the decor of the place. The taste of the food was better than most halal Chinese around my area. I would say here and Fatima's in Astoria would be a tie. read more

My go to place for halal Chinese. The prices are beyond reasonable, the portions are huge and the food is delicious. My family and I have been a customer here for years and they haven't let us down. They have good lunch and dinner specials, for both take out and sit in. Personally, I'm not a fan of the beef. I don't trust beef in a lot of places especially Chinese. But the chicken and shrimp is awesome. Their plates and cups need to change already! read more

I tried this place on recommendation and I haven't been disappointed yet. Clean friendly and servings are plentiful. The taste is so much better without the pork grease .. easy on the digestive system and I actually don't get tired after I eat here the way I do at Chinese food spots that serve the grease. read more

I wanted to try a new Chinese spot & found Halal Kitchen on delivery.com. I thought "Cool! A new spot to try out!". Boy was I wrong *rolls eyes* AN HOUR LATER OUR FOOD WASN'T HERE. Normally 30-45mins would be the time frame where the food gets delivered. I used to work at a restaurants, so I know how busy it can get AND I know for a fact that you can change the time slots for delivery arrivals, on whatever website you're advertised on. But 8pm on a Tuesday?! Is 8pm on a Tuesday really ever busy? Is it? Is it ever busy? For one, this place is 10mins by car & 20mins by public transportation. Did the delivery guy take the bus? Did the owner forgot to bless the food to become halal? Were they short staffed?? These are just a few of the never ending unanswered questions that I will forever hold in my heart. I wish I was able to give a negative review :( read more

The service was a little slow and the small space can easily get crowded on the weekends, not to mention it isn't the best kept place. Also, because it's really tight, anytime someone orders a sizzling entre the entire room fills up with smoke and it's a little hard to breathe. Overall, the food is worth it but dinning in isn't the best choice. read more

I've taken a break from puking my stomach contents out to write this review because OH MY GOD I found a roach in the fried rice that came with the hunan beef combination. You'd think I found it before eating it but nooooo, it had to be on the bottom! YUCK! At first, I thought it was a burnt grain of rice but upon close look, it had legs, antennae, and just BLEGH! I brushed my teeth until my gums bled and nearly drowned myself with mouthwash, and I still feel sick. I am definitely not eating from this place ever again. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x_x read more

BEWARE! DO NOT EAT OR ORDER TAKE OUT HERE. While waiting for a take out order I heard sneezing and coughing in the food prep area. It did not sound like they were covering up and probably not washing their hands. Ugh! Pretty good, if basic Chinese food joint in Maspeth. Given the three or four other places in direct competition with them, they have to have a menu that's a little more "special." I haven't tried any of the odder things on the menu (by odder, I mean not your typical Chinese fare), but I will, since the different selections are welcome. We'll see how that goes. Quick service, at any rate. read more
