Went to check this spot out as my friends only eat Halal Meat ! This is a halal steak house , serving up a bit of everything. From wings , burgers , pasta to steak. There aren't many halal steakhouses in NY , especially not in Queens. We walked in , we were greeted and seated right away. Our host/waitress was very nice. For once I was actually excited to eat , ambiance was beautiful and very modern. Now on to the food , we ordered 2 ordered of Buffalo wings and they were delicious as appetizers. Friends ordered burgers , some chicken dish and I ordered NY strip 7oz Steak (medium). Oh boy my steak came out Well Done!! Loved the peppercorn sauce on it !! But I have always encountered this problem at Halal Steakhouse that they never get the temperature correct. Wasn't too mad as it was only $26. Great presentation! Service - 10/10 Food - 6/10 Parking - Street Good for Large Groups

Was looking for a halal restaurant that served steak so came upon this restaurant. Made reservation for 8:45pm however we waited 35 minutes prior to being seated, which defeats the purpose of making a reservation! Disappointed that they were out of stuffed jalapeño peppers as we were really looking forward to it. They also ran out of Coke. How do you run out of coke? Restaurant was very crowded but it was a Saturday after all. Waiter was attentive but had to ask to get water refilled. This place has potential but recommend good management to run this place in order for it to become successful. The table was being set as we were being seated and the glasses and floors were dirty which should not be the case in a restaurant like this. Food was good but my filet mignon was bland. Caesar salad was yummy! Pointers: - serve salad on a bowl and not a plate as it gets messy - fajita toppings should also be served on a bigger plate as it made it difficult to make the fajita - pasta should be creamy, not watery

Local place but not up to quality to what a real steakhouse should be. Here is the rundown: Mash potatoes; Cold and bland Poutine; please... Steak; cooked well. Under seasoned. Calamari; it was ok. Looked like mini onion rings. Dessert: Very good. Service was ok. It's BYOB. Good to know beforehand. Gotta step it up Affy.

We reserved for a group of 6 to celebrate a birthday dinner. Upon arrival, the ambiance is modern and lights are dim. We were seated right away and the Spanish waitress was excellent!! We ordered multiple appetizers such as crispy calamari, fish and chips, wings, and nachos. Everything was perfect (my favorite was the wings). They also give sauces on the side. The nachos should have had the cheese melted on top and been presented better, as it did not look appetizing. Entrees we got were a variety and we also got different types of drinks from the menu. The steak was good, combination fajita (I got steak and chicken) with rice was a hit and everything on the menu had excellent flavor. I believe the chef is very skilled! 2 issues we had was one of the steak orders had 90% fat, so we were given the option for a refund or a new steak. Another issue we had was one of the chicken + shrimp dishes; chicken was hard like deep fried and was not edible. The server quickly swapped the chicken for a new one and we were happy. Drinks: the pina colada was sweet and excellent! If you like more of savory drink, go for the lime or mango mocktails. If you like a strawberry drink, take the 1 strawberry drink they have - taste like jolly rancher. We also had a surprise for the birthday girl and got chocolate lava, which was big and delicious! I would definitely come back to this establishment as they know how to serve their customers and their food items have huge portions.

7oz NY strip steak medium rare with peppercorn gravy and mashed potatoes

The experience was closer to a 3/3.5 but it doesn't feel quite close enough to a four for me to round up so we're going to stick to 3 stars. Because they're in their soft opening there's a lot of menu items not presently available and no to go menus or business cards. There was only one waitress working too. The 15% tip already being included in definitely convenient but I can imagine it's also frustrating for customers who don't end up even getting good service. Our waitress did her job well nonetheless, answering all our questions and checking up on us to make sure everything was okay during the meal so I wasn't really mad about it. It alleviated having to do any math at the end. I appreciated that she told us when I asked to upgrade poutine fries that there would be an added cost of 1.50 because a lot of times some servers won't mention it and you'll just be slapped with the additional cost. I wish our drinks had been brought out first (instead they came after our food) because we were sitting for a while waiting which is fine because a friend and I were here for a catch up but having drinks to enjoy during the wait would've been nice. The pina colada was almost milkshake-y and I LOVED that about it. Good flavor. Pretty presentation. Very refreshing. Tasted a hint of coconut in there as well which usually is the flavor profile that ends up totally being a miss with these drinks. The food was just okay but I enjoyed the experience overall. The ambiance is lovely, well decorated, clean, and beautifully furnished. Appreciated the complimentary chips and salsa. There was definitely some good seasoning on the chips but my friend and I put them aside so we didn't fill up before our meal. I was pleasantly surprised that an order of the NY strip steak came with not one but two sides so my friend and I opted for the mashed potatoes (which came with gravy) and upgraded the fries to poutine fries. The poutine fries were crispy and a little too salty and uh they were the worst excuse for poutine you could possibly have. BUT they were enjoyable besides that. It's just the name that is misleading and poutine purists would be horrified to find the fries are thin, the cheese is shredded, and where's the gravy (barely there)? But since this is America and not Canada I'm assuming people won't be too mad. (I just got back from a trip to Canada and had a little poutine adventure while there so I had been hoping and expecting for the real deal here especially since I hear affy's started in Canada then came here). ANYWAY fries are fries and cheese always makes things better so I was not MAD. Back to the strip steak. All come with onions and mushrooms and you can decide if you want peppercorn gravy or Cajun lemon butter. We opted for the former because it was supposed to be "spicy." It wasn't. I haven't experience with steak because this is actually the first halal steak I've had at a restaurant in my life so I really can't compare it to anything else. There was a whole chunk of fat on it which I discarded and felt like a waste of an ounce or so on the steak because I was here for MEAT but texture wise it was definitely very squidgy and soft. It was fine. I was honestly just happy to be here and trying my first halal steak LOL. I liked the flavor of the BBQ ribs but naturally there's barely any meat on it. We chose a baked potato for our side with this one and it came with cheese and sour cream. It was a baby potato. And it was then we realized all three of our sides had been potatoes. I wish there had been mac and cheese but I suspect it would've likely been kinda mid. Portions overall were large but considering how little meat there are on ribs, the size of the ribs aren't going to all add up to meat. The steak knives were kind of awful and it took a lot of sawing to even cut through the steak. The food wasn't exactly hot either, kinda warm teetering on lukewarm. I got a burger to go for my brother and really loved that the burger options included fries in the cost as well because usually you'll get a burger alone for 12-15 bucks with no fries whereas that was not the case at all here. The cut of meat was very thick and he seemed to like it so definitely something to check out. In conclusion (lol), since they're so new I definitely cut them a lot of slack. Once all the kinks are worked out I have no doubt they'll have a promising future ahead. Wishing the team at Affy's all the best!

I came here with my wife for some halal steak, and we left very pleased. We made reservations on Yelp and were seated immediately. They brought out free chips and salsa while we wait. The restaurant itself is pretty big from the inside, and the lighting ambiance is amazing. Date night friendly! Also their bathroom is like a hotel bathroom, very well maintained and kind of classy. Let's jump to the food. For appetizers we got the dusted chicken wings; they allowed us to split the flavors in half so we did half wings of Affy's BBQ and half of buffalo flavor. The buffalo flavor was average, but Affys BBQ was perfect! It's not your typical BBQ flavor, it has more heat and some extra tang! Almost like they put chaat masala(IYKYK) on there. 10/10! We got some drinks. It's worth mentioning all of their drinks are non-alcoholic and I was very pleased with this. My wife got the Mojito and I got the Pina colada. The Mojito was okay in my opinion but my wife liked it. The Pina Colda was like a pineapple bliss milkshake. Absolutely delicious, and on the sweeter side. For food I ordered their NY steak 14 OZ, as medium well with pepricorn sauce. If I have anything bad to say it will be about the preparation of this steak. The steak itself was very high quality. Lots of meat on it and not too fatty. However, it was super chewy almost like every bite was like chewing gum and then forcing yourself to swallow it. Chefs please do research on how to properly prepare steak. I ate about half and brought the rest home, and then I added some butter and cooked it for a 2 mins on low heat and it was perfect! It came with 2 sides; so i got the fries (upgraded to Poutine for $1.5 extra) and also got steamed veggies (to be a little healthy lol). My wife got the combination fajitas which was essentially a combination of chicken and steak. It came on a sizzler plate and with lots of sides for you to make your own mini tacos. This was an absolute hit! Must try. 10/10. All and all we had a great experience, the staff was also super kind, and the ambiance was great! Also they include a 15% gratuity on all bills, so please don't feel obliged to tip. My only recommendation for the restaurant would be to research on how to better prepare steaks!

Everything was perfect, the mood of the restaurant was amazing. The atmosphere was pleasant to my family. The food was very tasty, my mother enjoyed it a lot. The service was a 10/10. We received complimentary brownies too. Thank you to tatiana and employees of affys.

The service and ambiance were amazing, the food tasted great! There's a prayer room in the back too which was nice for my Muslim brothers and sisters!

Tldr: overall pretty mid Opened up a new location aside from the Brooklyn one on Grand Avenue. Food is a hit or miss, don't get the ribs pretty mid. Do get the calamari and dusted chicken wings so flavorful (9/10). Our table of 6 ordered 3 apps and 6 entrees with the total coming out to the $306 (automatic 15% gratuity included). Food came out pretty slow (40 min wait?) and service was alright.

This was my first time eating at Affy's Grill and honestly Im really not sure what the hype is about. The food was not flavorful and It made me feel bloated and disgusted afterwards. But let's be honest the picture looks great thanks to my photography. I cannot speak ill about the place however. The staff was great and respectful and the place was nice and clean. That is the only reason I gave 2 stars. The food itself gets a 0.5 star rating. Honestly guys what is the hype about? I had better food at the gyro cart .

Herb Marinated Lamb Chop w/ white rice and "Poutine" fries.

The food I had that night at Affy's was delicious. The overall experience was a 9/10. The taste of the food was phenomenal, the Cajun chips very well seasoned, however for me personally the salsa was too spicy. The ambiance was very welcoming and mellow. My only critique would involve the service and the "Poutine" fries. The service was good, however I felt that the server didn't check in enough. The fries did not have cheese curds in them, just melted cheese so the authenticity that comes with poutine was not there. My recommendation would be to encourage servers to be more attentive and to sure the cheese curds are incorporated. Outside of this it was a wonderful experience and I will be going again as well as recommending Affys to friends and family.

Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse is considered an upscale complete with table linens, celebratory atmosphere, and "all-you-can-eat" venue, typically with a bustling, energetic Southern Brazilian cuisine, serving churrasco barbecue style meats and traditional side dishes. This location is in Elmhurst, Queens, NYC and adjacent to Queens Center Mall where patrons can shop and subsequently conclude the day with a wonderful meal. Party of two for "All For One Price" continuous, fire-roasted cuts brought to your table, endless sides, and seasonal specialties from the Market Table - all for one price. The "Market Table" is a open buffet which includes fruits, vegetables, and seafood. This Market Table is very large. Food is very fresh and abundant readiness. I made the mistake to ruin my appetite with crackers mere hour before sitting at our table. Fire roasted meat distribution to table and carved with patrons catching a piece using a tong. Fogo is a meat lover's paradise for a heavy steak meal. The bottom sirloin or bacon wrapped steak, is noted by Yelpers, always dry. The parmesan crusted pork is flavorful and surprisingly juicy. I highly enjoyed the salmon and Caesar salad. The Green Card system is a signaling device used in traditional Brazilian service, known as Churrasco which allows patrons to control the pace of a meal of the "all-you-can-eat" buffet experience. Green Side (Go): When you place the card with the green side facing up, it signals the Gaucho chefs that you want to continue receiving service. Continuous Service: Chefs will frequently visit your table to carve various fire-roasted meats directly onto your plate, including signature cuts like Picanha (top sirloin), Filet Mignon, Ribeye, and lamb chops. Red Side (Stop): When you need a break or are finished, you turn the card to the red side to signal the chefs to stop. Rosé, Montes "Cherub" Colchagua Valley, Chile Dry, seductive, and elegant, it is a very smooth good finish. This wine may me float. I always have a predilection for wine. Caipirinha, Brazil's national cocktail This drink is made with cachaça (a sugar cane), hard liquor, sugar and lime with ice. It's refreshing for my friend. Chocolate Molten cake with vanilla ice cream One word: WOW! Customer service is very attentive and polite with kindness in a celebratory positive mood. Our party of two were inquired if we needed anything during mid-dinning experience and my friend requested Brazilian grilled cheese, espetinhos de queijo with honey. Pão de queijo, Brazilian cheese puff bread is served. High ceilings and there is a large relief statue of Antônio Caringi, Brazilian sculptor (1905-1981). Business cards and mints are abundantly available for grabs. I strongly suggest table reservations in advance, particularly for weekends and holidays as this large dining hall was bewilderingly very quickly filled as we dined on extreme artic cold February, Saturday. Every day can be one's birthday celebration. I think being alive with another tomorrow is a reason to be celebratory. I would surely return for another visit - enter empty stomach.

Excellent shrimp in garlic as well. I went to this Argentine spot a couple of days ago with 6 others, having previously been to their long-running Corona location a good while ago. This new location, by comparison, has only been open for a few months. The spot is casual, and the staff is friendly. Before the rest arrived, a few people ordered drinks, including some Mexican beers and, for me, a Quilmes. As with their other location, they gave us some toasted bread and sausages to begin with, which were tasty. There was a nice fragrant chimichurri sauce on the table. We started with two appetizers. The better app was an obligatory one for Argentine parilladas, Provoleta, or Provolone a la Parrilla, listed as grilled provolone in oregano sauce for $11.90. There were also some olives and some yellow pickled peppers, and it was standard and tasty, with a mild oregano flavor. The other one was the $12.90 Ensalada de Aguacate, or in other words, an avocado salad, with some red wine vinegar, olive oil, and Italian dressing on the side. There was plenty of very good quality avocado in there, but the salad otherwise was boring, with mostly lettuce along with some sliced tomatoes, onions, and some cucumber. The main dishes, of course, consisted of two of their parillada, a mixed grill platter, with both of them being ordered medium rare. The first one was their standard Parillada Para Dos o Tres Personas with skirt steak, short rib, sweetbread, tripe, kidney, and two sausages; black and Argentine. For the 2/3 person portion, it was $65.90, and it came with two sides. The Skirt Steak/Entraña on both this and the other mixed platter was wonderful, being tender and juicy with plenty of beef flavor. The Short Ribs/Costillas were flavorful, though a tad fatty. In terms of the achuras, or offal, my favorite of the bunch was the Sweetbreads/Mollejas, being perfectly cooked with a soft texture. I also loved the Tripe/Tripa, which more resembled intestines, which were clearly cleaned very well, as they lacked any gamey flavor. The texture otherwise was nice, and this was most of the others' favorite offal. The Kidney/Riñón was most of the other people's least favorite, with the strongest flavor, but as someone who likes liver, I still enjoyed it to an extent. In terms of sausages, the Argentine Sausage/Chorizo had a mild flavor, and the Morcilla/black sausage was excellent with a snappy casing and a very mild iron flavor. Compared to last time, this was even better. The more expensive of the mixed grills we got was the Parillada Especial Para Dos o Tres Personas, with more skirt steak, along with Flat Steak, flat rib, short rib, shell steak, and sirloin steak. This was $80.90 with 2 sides, and was also excellent. My least favorite, as before, was the short ribs, with the rest of the steaks having a mix of textures, with my probable favorites being the Flat/Vacio and the Sirloin/Cuadril. It was a ton of perfectly cooked meat, but it felt a bit boring by comparison this time, with the offal being so good on the other platter, compared to the other location. Our only other main dish was the $25.90 Camarones al Ajillo, or shrimp sauteed in garlic sauce, which was also served with one side. For a steak place, the shrimp here were better than most steakhouses, being plump and juicy. The delicious garlic sauce paired wonderfully and was especially good with the various sides. This was an expected hit and a necessary bite between all the various meats. For the free sides, we got two of the Plátanos Maduros, along with Arroz con Habichuelas, Ensalada Rusa, and Papas a la Provencal. Our favorites were the sweet plantains and the rice, especially with the meat juices or garlic sauce added. The Russian potato salad reminded me of a thicker version of salad Olivier, with plenty of mayo. The papas were the plainest, and I presume the Papas Frita/French Fries were better, but we chose not to order them. As we were already very full with a bit of leftovers, the postres/dessert was Panqueques Con Dulce De Leche for $9.90. These consist of crepes filled with milk caramel, and they were rich and tasty. It was great to share, and it was a good ending to the meal. We gave a generous tip, got leftovers, and still spent around $38 a person for some excellent food. Would recommend heavily, just like their other location. Rounding up to 5, or rather cinco estrellas.

The other consideration is that the meats cook at their own pace in the BBQ pit, which naturally slows things down regardless of how hungry you are. That said, my wife and I were both satisfied by the end of the meal. We ate our fill and left happy, which is ultimately the goal. The food was genuinely good -- good enough that I actually enjoyed this meal more than some of the higher end Korean BBQ spots I have visited. That says something. I will be back. The value is solid and the experience delivered. Though I have to be honest -- nothing in this city touches the hole in the wall Korean BBQ spots in Flushing. Those are in a league of their own.

We decided to stop by since we wanted to give something around here a try…read more We came in & were seated right away, drinks Passion fruit & Mango shakes w milk instead of water, very good but a bit filling. Chorizo for appetizer great tasting but u may not need it they start u off w some warm bread & cheese, salami app very good depending on how hungry u are I'd say u can skip the appetizer. Main dishes Milanesa à la napolitana this was good, way too many onions but good comes with rice & beans. I had the Pechuga de pollo la provenzal, yumm this was delicious the sauce is so tasty, I got it w tostones great since dipping into the sauce. Next time, Ice tea & Sprite for drinks not bad, no apps since they start u off w that bread. I had the Meat special #4 , This comes with 2 pieces of steak & chorizo , got it w tostones the meat was very flavorful, cooked just right , comes w a chimichurri sauce so good. We also had the Pollo Provenzal again, man that sauce is amazing got it w fried yuca, it was very good. This place is a one stop shop, butcher style Meats for sale, some Argentinian desserts, candy & merchandise they seem to have a little bit of everything. Good size location, decent decor & service. Prices are seasonable since they do give u a good portion size. Good neighborhood spot, this place was a good find & chances are we will continue to visit from time to time.

That was enough for us to decide we will not be returning. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 25 years. The food has generally been good, which is why my family continued returning and recommending it to others. Our history with the restaurant has not been without issues. Years ago, we stopped coming after a Mother's Day incident involving my grandmother. We had been seated in the upstairs dining room (when it was still open), only to later be told by the owner that we did not have a reservation and that we had to leave. After several years, we decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and eventually started coming back again. Unfortunately, today confirmed that the earlier incident was not simply bad luck. I was dining with my parents. We ordered two steaks, two appetizers, three sides, a bottle of wine and later a second bottle (of which we only drank half), along with four after-dinner drinks, cappuccino, and dessert. It was clearly a very busy day, and service was slower than usual. Because of the restaurant's pace, our meal ended up lasting a little over three hours. We were patient the entire time and never complained. After we finished eating and were simply finishing our drinks, the owner, Marcelo, approached our table and remarked that we had been there for three hours and were now only drinking alcohol, indirectly suggesting that his establishment was not a bar but a place for dining. Considering that we had just spent several hundred dollars and have been customers for decades, the comment was unnecessary and unprofessional. We immediately asked for the check and left. For context, I am a physician and understand the pressures of demanding work environments. However, professionalism and respect toward customers should always come first. Over the years, my family has typically spent between $300 and $500 per visit here. Unfortunately, after this experience, this will be the last time we come. There are many excellent Argentinian and Uruguayan steakhouses where customers are treated with appreciation and respect, and that is where we will be going moving forward.
