Really great AYCE Shabu. Went on a Sat evening without reservations, but the staff was able to accommodate our family. The staff are really nice and attentive. This place is nice and clean. You see staff wiping down the buffet area and constantly Restocking the variety of Shabu ingredients. Along with seafood. The meats are excellent. Craving for hot pot this is the closest from we are at neen here a few times now I know it's not too busy can get a table without having to wait long. Same lay out like shabuya a big area in the middle with different vegetable, seafood no blue crabs they have shrimp, clams, mussels and squid. They have limited sauces not much choices for meat as well. Place is clean they constantly refills the Buffett area and keep it clean. The broth they have , what can I say ordered pork bone I'm not sure if they know or they even try it so bland no flavor at all the quality of the meat is ok . Notice this me being here twice is that the wires under the table are sagging I think it's a safety issue or maybe it's just the table we are at. But again I was looking at other tables they are the same way all connected to the Switch where u can adjust your stove or something. They do close at 9:30pm we where there around 7:30pm was surprise around 8:30 they said last call for meat orders anyway it is what it is but again quick fix for dinner cravings . One of my dear friends treated me to dinner in celebration of my birthday a couple months back. Thank you my friend for your wonderful company, the great eats, and spending time with me. I appreciate you. I picked Shabu Lin in Arcadia because it has "Lin" in it's name and "Lin" without the "h" is part of my first name LOL. I know... it may sound like a silly reason for picking out a place to eat, but it's not silly to me. There's always a story behind the choices I make... I know why I'm doing it and why I'm choosing it LOL! When we first walked into the restaurant, no one greeted us... this was not a great start LOL. Unfortunately, we had to wave somebody down to acknowledge our presence (knocked off 1 star). Finally, a gentleman came over and seated us. But he didn't ask us any questions or provided any instructions on how to start our All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) hotpot journey. I know... you're probably thinking, what is there to ask or provide... it's AYCE! LOL Well, we didn't want to assume we knew the steps. Anyway, our server (Alex) finally came over and asked us what soup base and meats we wanted. I got the House Special Shrimp soup (this was tasty) and my friend got the Mala soup (not good at all... too oily). Since neither of us eat beef, we chose the Basa Fish (we got several rounds of refill on this fish... hey, we gotta make up for not getting any beef LOL). So glad they had fish as an option. We both went over to the seafood, vegetables, noodles, plus other stuff bar that had tons of variety/selections which was a plus. We got our share of plates. Actually, I don't think I even went back for seconds. Oh well... My friend's side of the cooking pot wasn't working so her pot had to be switched to another cooking pot, but we didn't find out about it until 10-15 minutes later. Time was wasted and food eating was delayed LOL (knocked off another star). They need to check on their equipment for proper working order regularly so it doesn't impact the customer's dining experience. Or at least, place an OUT OF ORDER note if they know about it. Alex was nice and pleasant. He did his best to attend to us, but sometimes we still had to wave him down. We were informed that all servers don't have a designated area to attend to... they just help whichever tables need service... I think this is not the best approach. It can get confusing for the customers to whom to call upon for assistance... they need more structure in this area IMHO. Price for dinner was $33.99 per person which I guess is average nowadays for AYCE meals. Ambience was okay... nothing special... just one big room with bright lights! LOL Will we be back? To be honest, I don't know. I was hoping to really like this place since it has "Lin" in its name. Let me think about it. In the meantime, you're more than welcome to give them a try. Came here roughly 1hr before closing and was worried that we wouldn't have enough time to eat but it was more than enough. We were surprise how good the service and quality of meat was given these tough times. They had no limit on how many orders of meat so we were ordering A LOT of meat that the trays tower so high we couldn't see the person across from us. This place is more like 3.5 to me but I'll round up for the good service and seafood!! My bf and I ordered the mala spicy soup base and the sukiyaki. As expected, the suki is initially very light BUT it tastes so good after you cook stuff in it!! The mala is not that spicy or mala but very flavorful! For covid, they bring out a set plate of veggies/tofu for each person since we can't go up to grab our own. The meats that we kept ordering that day were 2, 3, and 7! My bf's fave part of the meal was the seafood since he loves crawfish. There was only 1 server for like 4-5 tables but he was super nice and attentive! There are more and more AYCE hot pot places popping up in this area and I cannot be more excited for that because hot pot is the best! Shabu Lin has been around for a year and my family have been a frequent guest of theirs. The meat and vegetables choices they have as a selectIon are great and they are fresh. Every person gets their own soup base the house soup base is my favorite. There is a sauce station on each end of the buffet line with plenty of options to mix the flavors. The service is great there, they usually have something special for guests on holidays. When we went for Mother's Day all the mom's got roses...and when we went back in a month for Father's dad all the dad's got a mug of beer. My mom and I were craving hot pot and we're debating on whether to go to Momo Paradise or Shabu Lin. I decided to give Shabu Lin a shot since I've already tried Momo and there were pretty good reviews of Shabu Lin. I called to see if I needed to make a reservation for 6pm but they said no and to just walk in. We got there and there was no line so we were seated immediately. I chose the house special shrimp soup base and my mom got the herbal chicken soup base. I like that there was no limit on how much meat you could order unlike other hot pot places where they limit 3 orders at a time. The waiter recommended trying out all the beef first so the soup taste doesn't change so we got all the beef options. WOW the meat quality was on point!! I personally like my meat a little more fatty so I'd say #2 and #7 were REALLY good! For the buffet section, they had like 4-5 different veggies, two types of mushrooms (I was disappointed that didn't have emoji mushroom), tofus, seafood, salad and sushi. I felt like they could've had more of a variety for veggies and fish balls. I felt like the sauces were alright too, nothing too special about them. When I tried out the soup, I felt like it wasn't anything too special and I felt like there was quite a bit of MSG cause I got really thirsty after the meal. Overall I'd say that the meat was really good but everything else was just decent. It was a semi-chilly Monday night and shabu sounded like a great idea. I've heard of Shabu Lin from a few friends and my group decided to try it out! Between the four of us, we had ordered the pork bone broth, mala veggie, and house broth. The broths were all flavorful and the added bonus was that they actually refilled you with broth instead of hot water. The veggie bar could've been a little bit more stocked at times, but you can see they were really short handed. There was a variety of veggies, seafood, fish cakes, and other random little goodies. There were a huge variety of sauces to choose too! There were a number of different cuts of meat and I loved how their menu has a "fattiness scale" so you have an idea of what you're in for. All the meats were thinly sliced, and per the recommendation of our server, order lots. Service was a little spotty, but they did the best they could considering there were only 2 or 3 servers for a packed restaurant! The reason I like coming to this spot is for the most part there hasn't been much of a wait time in the few times I've gone. The service here is usually good, nothing bad to note. Let me start off with my food of choice being hot pot. Anywhere, any type, I will always choose hot pot. Now, would I go back here? Probably not :/ I got the pork broth here and it tasted like nothing. No pork flavor, no signs of any fat, no essence of anything! ANYTHINGG!! Surprising because they even picture all the ingredients they use to make their broths, and somehow it is this entirely homogenous white liquid. Maybe that's how they get you HAHA. But no worries, yet! There are many more aspects to hot pot than the broth. Plus, I find that flavor often builds as things cook in your pot. To the meats! Their wagyu round cut is a no go, really lean and dry. Even drenched in sauce, you can't escape the dry. I gave the rest of that cut to my boyfriend. I try the rest of the cuts, and they were pretty standard good! Then, I get to the pork belly, which was too rubbery to eat. Even my boyfriend couldn't eat it, which was when I knew all hope was lost for this meal, because he is an actual food trash can. The sauces were ESSENTIAL to this experience. The pot flavor did not build. Everything came out of my pot smelling like hot water. I only got up once to grab hot pot items and sauces, and didn't care for anything enough to get up a second time, NOR did we order a second round if meat. Definitely think there's potential if the other broths are better, but I probably will just pick another restaurant and not risk it. I will say the restaurant was really clean and servers were really quick. But, For the price, $40+ per person with tip, I would rather have gone anywhere else (I would consider this normal price considering its AYCE). The sauce bar was also decent but it would've been nice if they had some more options to mix in. Shabu Lin is the center of many of my stories and the place of many of my dinners. It is Korean style shabu which differs slightly than Japanese. There's hardly ever a wait, they accommodate large and small (I eat alone here often) parties, the wait staff is attentive, and they play female Kpop MVs on the TV the whole entire time - because let's be real, female Kpop is superior! For the broth, I always get the sukiyaki. The one they offer here is a lighter version than what you might find at other neighboring shabu spots, but it doesn't bother me since it can get heavy quickly if it's too flavorful. Sauces are good and abundant. The restaurant has a large self serve station located in the center, with an impressive veggie and side selection, and seafood if you dine in for dinner. Crawfish, octopus, mussels, clams, shrimp, squid. The seafood is incredibly fresh; like, scary fresh, and it's so consistent too! Meat-wise, my picks are going to be from #3-8. Don't be fooled here: the #1 is Wagyu but it's their leanest cut of beef! Something to keep in mind if you're looking for that, but personally I always look for the best marbling aka the fattiest when it comes to my sliced meats. #7 is their short plate which is pretty much that, but the other offerings are pretty solid as well. The lamb and pork are also great here, one of the few spots where I'll order pork as much as I do beef! Everyone is pretty friendly here and the price is fair for what you get. Really interesting concept! The basics are like any other shabu place, but the way in which you go about getting your food is quite unique. This is an all you can eat (AYCE) style place. You pick your broth base and then whatever meats you want them to bring (they come in super thin slices in stacked trays). All of the rest of the stuff (including salads, veggies for the broth, rice, sauces, etc.) can all be found in a center buffet style. I actually like this method as i don't have to wait for any of the extras (i can just help myself). Of course the negative is that you inevitably end up eating more veggies and not enough meat. The staff is pretty good about checking in and getting your order for new meat, but the slices are super thin and honestly most of them kinda tasted the same... so to get your money worth you have to eat fast and re-order quickly. The food is great. There's a great selection on the items. Definitely not the worst or the best. It's a good place to come and eat. The reasons for my 3/5 stars are the following: 1. Customer Service - when it's busy it can take a long time for them to come to your table and get your order of meats. 2. Tips - they will question why you leave a smaller tip. This is place is a great deal, but in my opinion, it was a bit rude to ask why the tip was low when it was $10. That's just me. 3. Sometimes the pots don't work, they don't heat up the soup and you may have to move around. I think they should prioritize fixing them or just not sitting people at those tables. read more

Came here on a Saturday night. The place was not packed around 7, but by 730 there was a wait of about 3 tables. Food quality is above par. The wangyu is definitely the best of the bunch, we'll marbled and presented. However, the rest, such as the brisket and lamb are on the lean side, but still relatively better than most of other places. If we are talking about Shabu Shabu(which is what this place is), I would not consider this is premium. The meat is good, however when considering the price I'm paying (around 30 for dinner), I can definitely find something else around that is more reasonably priced and better quality. If you are comparing this to regular hot pot(no, they are not the same) then yes, this place is premium. But 30 for hot pot? Meh..... I dunno about this place. If I want premium I can find better places that's more affordable, but if I want all you can eat there is also places that's more affordable.... The selection is good, but there is nothing that is like a "must have at this place" that calls me back if you catch my drift. The food service is very good. So glad shabu lin is finally open! I've had this spot bookmarked pre-pandemic and never had a chance to try it because indoor dining was closed for so long. The experience was great. Everything felt really clean and all the tables were really spaced out. Instead of having a self serve style, everything is ordered at the table and brought to you. In the first round, you order your soup base, proteins, carb, and sauces. Every one gets a plate of assorted veggies and you can order more as well. Then as you eat your meal the server comes around to take any additional orders. The food quality was really good. I ordered the house special shrimp soup base and it was very flavorful. Both the meat and seafood were really fresh. There's a good variety to choose from. We couldn't decided so we got a little of everything in the first round and then decided which ones we liked to order in the next rounds. No parking but luckily, found street parking on the side of reataurant. We walked in, had few groups dining. Mind you it was afternoon on weekend during summer. Tip 1, though less greasy than Korean bbq, don't have when the weather is hot. The soup and meats are brought by server but the seafood, vegetables, and noodles are self served at the buffet. The quality of the meat goes down as you reorder over and over. The buffet counter is cl ean and stocked with fresh vegetables. Nothing fancy or special to note. The price was decent. This is my first all you can eat hot pot! And I'm very impressed. I get the impression this is more of a Korean run hotpot which was different than the a la cart Chinese ones I've been to. The cuts of meat were amazing. I'm partial to fattier cuts because it doesn't dry out as fast. I personally chose the Mala spicy and it wasn't too spicy for me. The dipping sauces were different than the ones I'm used to but still very good. Especially the home made chili sauce. The service was very nice and they were very attentive.
