My friends are I were itching for some warm soup as comfort food since it had been cool in the evenings. We saw the favorable reviews and the proximity to the house and decided to give the restaurant a try. The place is clean, well lit and felt roomy. The first thing we liked was individual soup broths. Everyone has a different spice and texture preference so the flexibility is nice. The menu is pretty straight forward. Our server was very friendly, helpful and willing to explain the options. Each of us were able to select our choice of broth, meats and self service sides. We all enjoyed the meal here and the hospitality of our server and his willingness to allow us to sample selections first. All in all, a very reasonable price for hot pot. Tasty meal. read more

Walked in with family on a Sunday around 7:55pm and the restaurant was quite dead with only 2 tables dining. Kind of odd considering it was the weekend, but I brushed it off. We ordered our soup base and the waiter told us they ran out of meat #2 (our favorite). Ok. Then, I go the vegetable/ sauces station. They got rid of the California rolls, which was a big bummer (especially after they had already gotten rid of the pigs feet, deokbokki, and japchae from the early days). Then at the sauce station, I saw they were completely out of garlic so I asked the waiter if she could refill it. She goes into the kitchen but comes back and said they ran out of garlic. Like, what? Again, ok. We barely started eating and at 8:12pm, the waiter comes over to tell us they are doing last call on the vegetables bar and to grab what we need before they close it. What?? Their website states that they close at 9:30pm on Sunday, but their last call is more than 1 hour before closing?? Ok. So my family and I scramble to stack our plates with veggies. The waiter then comes over again and tells us they are actually closing the meats too and to order the rest now. After we ordered the meat, it arrived quickly, and I see they already started to clean the veggie station almost immediately. By this time, we were the only table left at the restaurant at 8:30pm. This entire experience left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I am a regular customer here and come quite often since their meat quality is decent and the calm ambience. Their waiters are also usually nice, although stretched thin. Now I understand why business is so slow on a Sunday because this visit makes me not want to return. They should have told us that we had only 20 minutes before last call - then I would have gone somewhere else. I felt completely rushed and pressured to eat faster so that they can clean up even though the hours on their website states they close at 9:30pm and on Yelp, it's 10:00pm. Their Yelp hours aren't even updated. Also, the fact that they ran out of so many things during business hours with no intention to refill them, as well as removing many items that were available before makes my experience a very lackluster one. At this all you can eat, everyone gets their own pot. There's a controller so you can control how hot your soup is. I got the chicken ginseng soup. After you order your soup and meats, there is a veggie bar with different kinds of veggies, mushrooms, noodles, fish balls, and seafood. There's also a sauce bar. Probably one of my new favorite hot pot spots in the Los Angeles area. Really excited about it! On a busy MLK weekend, we were seated within 10 minutes. The place is kept pretty tidy and there is someone constantly refilling the buffet and making sure everything is neat. I was very happy that they gave us two portions of each meat order, and as a future tip, each single portion is very generous compared to other popular hot pot places, so be sure not to initially over order! Although this place is AYCE, I think that the selection of food is quite meager. During lunch time, you can only really select from two meats, which aren't of any good quality. There was a good selection of vegetables, but you can clearly see that they are the lower echelon of vegetables (canned) or the vegetables aren't presented very well. For instance, for cabbage, it would be nice if they cut it down as opposed to have the entire leaf to choke on. It's not like they give you something to cut it down. Also, the server that I had was very nice, but he had to tend to all the tables in the restaurant which made getting anything quite difficult. There was a sign where the servers store their clean plates and utensils, but I can see people just grabbing this stuff ignoring the sign that says not to do it. The place has a funky smell inside. Each person gets their own soup and I chose the ginseng chicken soup among the 8 soup options. Theres is a sign in front of the clean plates stack saying do not touch and to ask a server. I asked a server and turns out I can grab the plates and bowls myself. There was street parking in front of the store. At 530pm on a cold Friday night, this place is pretty empty, but when we were leaving about 2 hours later, we noticed it was about 70% full. It's all you can eat and there's a pretty decent selection of assorted vegetables, shrimp, mussels, noodles, fish balls to choose from. The sauce station isn't as extensive as other shabu places, but I actually prefer this.. It keeps things simple. We each got our own shabu pot so no need to share soups, unless your want to try multiple bases. We were a group of 4 and choose the Kim chi soup base, pork bone broth, miso broth and the shabu lin special. There's a list of meats to try and we choose numbers 1-6. I remember the short plate bring pretty good so e ordered more after we finish the initial 6. The menu describes the level of fattiness for each cut or pork/beef. Workers are nice and helpful. Booths are clean and everything is neat. If you don't care for super fancy meats or desire for a bear mould soup base sitting in your pot, I'd say this place is pretty decently priced for how expensive everything is nowadays. read more

First time here. The place was quiet when we arrived. The meat selection was awesome. We got all the beefs, pork belly, and bass fish. Everything was delicious. The Mala had barely any Chili peppers and just a few peppercorns and had no real flavor. The pork bone broth was just a bit bland but had a good rich flavor. Self Service bar was clean and had some great options. Service - The service was terrible. We were forgotten and never checked up on. Once we had finished our first round, we had waited for a server to notice us waiting to order and looking around. The busser even noticed we were waiting for around ten minutes and decided to take our order. My niece decided to have shabu for her birthday dinner. She picked Shabu Lin and it was a great choice. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is clean and they practice safe COVID protocols. I felt very comfortable having a meal with my family at the buffet because they kept it fresh and constantly cleaned. The meat option is huge, they have quality meats and they're very nicely cut. We tried all their meats and it did not disappoint. Their vegetable bar was amazing too. You select your own sauces, my favorite is the ponzu and sesame, both served buffet style. Lastly, we had their Korean bottled wine. We stared the first bottle and somehow ended up with 2 bottles. There's nothing to complain about food-wise, however the service was really really lacking. We ended up ordering 4 rounds of food. Parking: There is a parking lot that is accessible from Alta St. In addition, street parking is also available along Alta St. as well as S 1st Ave. Environment: When we arrived, there were only a couple of tables inside that were occupied; plenty of room to be spaced out. Hand sanitizer was readily available when walking in. Masks are required until eating. Restrooms are located towards the back of the restaurant. The cool thing about this place is that you can easily adjust your heat level for your broth by using the attached controller. What was ordered: AYCE dinner means all the meats you want! TLDR; come here! Quality of food & service is amazing I've been craving hotpot so much that my bf and I had to stop by before going to Santa Anita mall (only 5 mins away). I'm surprised it wasn't busy when we arrived! They have plenty of socially distanced booths with plastic dividers on top of the seats. Hand sanitizer was offered as soon as we stepped in and we were seated immediately. We missed lunch AYCE ($19.99/person) by an hour so we had to get the dinner AYCE option instead ($29.99/person). But that's okay because the dinner options lets you try more meats!! The veggies came prepped beforehand and included cabbage, bok choy, onion, green onion, carrot, corn, pumpkin, and mushrooms (wood ear & enoki). We tried most of the meats on the menu #1-7. Our favorites were #1 Wagyu eye of round & #3 Chuck eye steak. The quality of the meats were surprising for an AYCE shabu place. It's definitely worth the price. My bf also ordered clams & mussels but he wasn't a big fan since he said he could still taste the sand in them (lol). Stick to the meats! There weren't many people here so service was awesome! I get to momo on a random Tuesday for lunch and to my surprise they had a 1 hr wait (even though there were plenty of open tables...). Shabu Lin it is! Food: The meet is average. The quality fluctuated drastically throughout our meal. The first plate of beef was good but a bit to thin where it broke apart. The 2nd and 3rd plate of beef was thicker and tough. They have a large variety of vegetables and meat balls for you to fit (self serve). I even tried a piece of the california roll for kicks...it was surprisingly good... Service: Staff was attentive and on top of it. Though I have to say when we sat down we were only given 2 pieces of ultra thin napkins . Environment: Easy parking. Quiet area. The restaurant is very spacious. Something about the decor makes it feel like it is lacking some character. They also have wires dangling all over the place. That is a trip hazard.
