Was visiting home for some time and in the area. Decided to call in for an oil change. Clemen said to come by and drop it off. Oil change was done after a couple of hours and I was recommended some work. After some careful thinking, I called back to get the recommended items taken care of since I was back home anyway. And the OEM battery and brakes needed to be ordered on their end anyway. Came back on Monday morning to drop it off. In the afternoon, everything was good to go and I took it home. Suddenly, I got an error pop up. I called back and Clemen said to bring it back. So that's what I did. It was my FRM. Not a good sign for anyone with a 3 series or an X5. It wasn't due some shady work. I was expecting this to go out at any time. Clemen was super generous and put it on speaker to order the part so I knew the cost. Actually, he first let me hear if it was still under warranty. I barely missed it with the number of years. Clemen then said I can pay him whatever in labor since this was unexpected. I'm not going to do that. I left my car there. I got an update saying I need to leave the car another day or two since the coding part had to be done at a dealer since I have an older model. That's fine. I got a call to pick it up a couple days later. I can't express how much Clemen did his magic with his connection with the dealer because it would take probably a month before I could get an appointment with everything going on. Super satisfied. Since I don't live in the area, Clemen said to even give him a call since a lot on my car is still under warranty and so that I don't get fooled into paying for costly repairs where I am. Got the car towed in and Clemm inspected it right away and after a little bit told me the diagnosis and showed me the issue. He priced it and said it would be ready the next day. Well, Clement has come through again! After having repaired my transmission, an engine malfunction came up and since I needed an oil change, I called his to schedule an appointment. I go in quickly and after running a diagnostic he found the problem to be the original turbocharger boost controller solenoids. Clement fixed the problem and got me on my way. He even told me in case the turbos go out, I may want to look at another car due to the high cost to replace it. After wasting time and money at other places I brought my car to SGV Bimmer and the owner Clement was able to diagnose the problems with my car and give me an estimate the next day. Before he did any work, Clement called me to go to his shop so he could show me my engine and how the bolts on my timing chain were broken and causing the engine noise and rough idling. In addition to the engine problem he also inspected the whole car and gave me an estimate for everything he recommended be replaced which even included the trunk springs. It is incredibly rare to find an honest and competent mechanic. After moving from NY to LA, I needed a reliable place to take my 2010 BMW. I used dealerships throughout but they were becoming ridiculously expensive. My first stop was close to where I lived in San Pedro, an indie shop with 4 stars on Yelp. They were average; the estimate and suggested work was too much. I pulled my car from there after they charged me $140 for an oil change and inspection. I then took the car to South Bay BMW. They charged me $250 to do an inspection alone. Came out with an entirely DIFFERENT set of recommended repairs. When I told them not to do it, they wouldn't even pay for my uber back to the dealership. So $250 for ZERO work. I finally decided that I needed a specialist and found SGV Bimmer. They were 1 hour away which was why I didn't go to them in the first place (would have saved me $350!). Master mechanic Wong was fantastic. Honest to a fault. Told me exactly what my car needed and what it did not. Even talked me out of getting the transmission fluid changed. The "recommended fixes" from the other two shops suddenly disappeared as they were not necessary. The prices he charged were very reasonable for the complexity of the work. Parts were at cost and labor incredibly fair. SGV used the recommended OEM BMW parts; my new brake pads and rotors feel EXACTLY as good as the originals. I even had them replace my rear bumper due to 12 years of dings. I don't know how they were able to perfectly match my car's color (a hard to match Atlantic Blue) but it looks seamless. Clemen has been amazing. I found SGV Bimmer after my 2017 530 xdrive was out of warranty and I was quoted over $4000 by the dealership for a variety of issues. I elected to get a second opinion and I'm glad I did. I didn't do all the repairs since some were minor and cosmetic but for the major components I had fixed I saved about half by coming here. The thing that I really appreciated was an issue with my air vent (which I'm nearly sure the dealership had messed up many months before and I never noticed). I was quoted nearly $500 for this alone, but SGV Bimmer didn't charge me at all. It was a quick 5 minute fix (and not a full replacement). My second time going was when my check engine light came on. I brought it in and agreed to the computer check fee. About 30 minutes later I got a call from Clemen that the issue was with some emissions part (which has a longer warranty than the rest of the vehicle - which he double checked for me before calling me). He easily could have kept that to himself and told me the charges but instead he told me to take it to the dealership and didn't even charge me the agreed upon fee. They are dependable They keep you well informed. Car was done on time as promised. There was also a couple of small surprises that I wasn't told would be replaired but I am completely grateful for. For example my mat/ rug had been getting on my last nerve because BMW of Monrovia sold me oversized mats that didn't fit my car and also kept sliding and I just haven't had time to go fight with them. SGV fixed that problem by adding Velcro so that the mats stay in place and away from the breaks. They also fixed my driver side door handle which had been a problem for a long time.
