Ben and Tony are a great father and son team. They are knowledgeable, skillful and honest. I'm so glad to have found this place. I've been coming here since Honda dealer messed me up by claiming to have swapped my spark plugs but never did, causing me to have stalls on the freeway! I was lucky to find this place as emergency and have been coming here for big and small jobs. Ben and Tony will give u honest advices on what u need to fix and change and how urgent they are. They charge reasonable prices. They are now my go-to mechanics and I highly recommend them to anyone.

Let me start with saying Ben is a Wizard. I have never trusted a mechanic more in my entire life. There is literally nothing he cannot do. In my 29 years of existence, I've never had such thorough, quality, and cost efficient work done on my car. You come here knowing that not only will you get the absolute best deal with Ben's prices, but you will get the best quality work done. You cannot go anywhere else to get better quality. Period. You get A+ service for A+ prices. Along with all of this, Ben walks you through the issue and shows you what has been done (old parts + new parts) and will recommend what needs to be looked at in the foreseeable future. He is like the Willy Wonka of car factory's ... only he doesn't have anybody like Slugworth working for him. Honestly I recommend Ben to all of my friends. I found him when I lived in El Monte .. and now since I've moved to Long Beach I still come here because finding an honest, quality, affordable, and extremely knowledgeable mechanic is few and far between. He's done my clutch, axel, engine oil leaks, brakes, tune ups, oil changes, starter, and to save me money on my need for a new ignition switch, he installed a "push to start" button in my '95 civic. How sick is that ?! You know how many blumpkins that switch alone has gotten me? Seriously, don't think twice, come here . A huge thanks to Ben and all of his workers for such amazing work and for always hookin it up!

Tech No 2, as their name would suggest, is their second, more spacious, location in El Monte.

I'm originally a customer of their first location Tech No 1. I'm a return customer now because my car is old haha and Ben Diep, the owner, is a honest and friendly guy who always gives a good price on his work. My car broke down the other night (10 pm) and I towed it to his shop planning on leaving it on the street till morning. Luckily I caught him as he was headed home. Instead of just having me leave my car in the street and deal with it in the morning. He put the dogs away, unlocked and opened the gate for me to park inside. Then he asked his son to give me a lift home. This is the above and beyond type of service you will get from Ben at Tech No 1 and 2.

Drive train issue? No problem. Driveshaft was completely stuck in transmission and they were able to remove it!

Took in gfs 2000 toyota 4runner which had very bad drivetrain issues. Was very skeptical that any auto repair shop could fix the issue but I had a good feeling bout this place. They inspected the vehicle and got immediately to work. They kept the old parts from the car that got replaced (to show that they actually replaced it) and walked me through what they did to fix the issue. These guys know their stuff and will not overcharge you. Real honest guys with great prices. No job too difficult that these guys can't cure. Highly recommend!

    Waiting room

Just took my car to get serviced and they were friendly and easy to work with. Called in advance and they took my car for an inspection as soon as I arrived. Price is decent as well for each service. Would recommend coming back.

My 1999 Toyota 4runner. Always in good hands at Tech One Auto.

They took a look at my car for free to identify the issue and they detected the leak to be coming from my engine and not my transmission. They showed me exactly what they were seeing, why they thought it was my engine and not my transmission, and offered to put a dye in my transmission fluid to ensure it was my engine and not my transmission. I drove my car for a week and took it back to double check, and sure enough it was my engine! Although they spent time and care on my car, they didn't charge me a single penny, even when I insisted to at least pay for the dye. They were able to refer me another mechanic to fix my engine leak and I was able to get my issue solved that same day. I brought my 2013 Nissan Versa in for a second opinion because the dealership (where I thought my…read morenew transmission was under warranty) quoted $10,000 to replace the transmission AGAIN and replace a few other parts. Lee and Sam took the vehicle for a few hours and got it running again for a fraction of the price. They determined that the issue was not related to the transmission. Their willingness to listen, inspect, and be transparent was most striking. I'll definitely be back.

SERIOUS CONSUMER WARNING - DOCUMENTED TRANSMISSION TEARDOWN AFTER "REBUILD"…read more I brought my truck with its 4L80E transmission to this ATRA member shop for a full rebuild. The owner, Mr. Lee, stated he has 43 years of experience and that he personally performs all the rebuilds. I paid him $2,850 and supplied an additional estimated $1300 in quality brand new parts, which he inspected and agreed to install. For context, I have 20 years of experience working on vehicles and am a certified diesel mechanic. The main reason I brought the transmission to a shop was that I didn't have the space nor resources at the time to perform a full removal, installation, and rebuild myself. Communication was polite initially, and the owner appeared willing to work with the parts I supplied. He was also extremely fast and did the actual rebuild in half a day. The transmission failed three separate times within three weeks, requiring removal and reinstallation each time. After the third failure, I towed the truck home and completely disassembled it myself. During teardown and measurement, I documented multiple serious assembly and quality-control issues, including: -Wrong pump installed, despite being told no hard parts were changed -Intermediate clutch pack assembled with incorrect clutches, leaving clearance nearly three times outside specification (which can prevent the clutch from holding properly and lead to rapid failure) -Sun gear installed upside down, blocking a critical lubrication hole required to supply oil to internal components -Several worn bearings, steels, seals, and other components appeared not to have been replaced -Reverse band misadjusted to the point the output shaft would not rotate in any gear The FIRST failure was caused by a transmission fluid leak from an old 180k-mile pump bushing and seal that were not replaced. The SECOND failure was explained to me as transfer case and transmission cracking as soon as Mr. Lee shifted into Drive.. the shop claimed it was caused by my driveshaft despite it being the original factory driveshaft with new, unbound U-joints. The THIRD failure caused severe transmission overheating (never disclosed to me) during Mr. Lee's 5-mile test drive, with a claimed valve body diagnostic code that never appeared when I scanned the truck myself. Because this truck is critical for my cross-country towing work, I ultimately spent three months in very difficult circumstance personally performing a very slow but full transmission teardown in order to rebuild the transmission correctly. I have extensive photos and video documenting all findings of why this transmission had repeated failures in a span of three weeks. If proper assembly, reliability, and accountability matter to you, I strongly recommend choosing another shop.

Although they don't have a tow service, Christina was able coordinate towing my truck to this shop where they rebuilt the tranny, transfer case, differentials, and replaced a couple of parts. World transmission is a family owned business with respectful people. David is very knowledgable and knows his craft. He went over the details of how my transmission worked and how to preserve its lifespan given that it's a 4x4. Christina is very professional and stands by her word. After I left I reviewed their work and noticed the dust shield on one my brakes was carving into the rotor. I phoned in and was asked to bring the truck back and within the hour of bringing it in, had the rotor replaced with a new one. Mind you that the differential was used so the dust shield may have been bent to begin with. But the important thing is that they didn't play the blame game. Instead they took responsibility and within the hour having brought in the truck, I was already driving off the lot with a brand new rotor. I am completely satisfied with the work and the amount that I paid for it. Truly worth the price. As Andre (see previous post) put it in his post, this is place has the best prices in town. Their prices are fair for the amount of work that needed to be done. The only downside in my opinion is that they have too much work and they don't open on weekends other than Saturday to return the cars. Thus the need to take time off of work to deal with all this. Overall though I can say that I will continue to service my truck here as well as brining my other 2 cars which may be long over due for some transmission service. I read the many positive reviews for Hye-Tech Auto Repair and decided to visit them. Upon entering, I was greeted by John (owner) with a friendly, "Welcome, how may I help you?" I explained that my Ford Explorer needed a new water pump and a few other items that other auto shops had advised me would require repair or replacement. While John looked up a few items on the computer to provide me with a quote, he introduced me to his son, Harry, who happened to be in the office. Thirty seconds later, John provided a quote that was $3,500-$4,000 less than the other shops. I could not believe it. John explained that he makes his living and succeeds in his business through repeat customers, and he does not believe in gouging customers for every last penny. He also shared that when he retires, his son Harry will take over the business, and he wants to leave Harry with a solid foundation of loyal repeat customers. It was then that I knew I could trust John and his son Harry. John went on to explain that replacing the water pump on a Ford Explorer was a 10-12 hour job, as it was an internal pump requiring numerous engine parts to be removed to reach it. This was the same thing all the other shops advised me. John suggested that I leave my vehicle, and he would perform a full inspection of the engine and contact me before doing anything to it. I agreed and left my vehicle. The following day, I was contacted by John, who advised me that the water pump did indeed need to be replaced, as it was the source of the constant leaks of the water coolant. I left my vehicle in John's shop for three days. During this time, John or his son, Harry, contacted me numerous times to keep me updated on the progress of my vehicle and also to point out that mechanics had discovered two or three very inexpensive items (under $50.00) which they recommended replacing, which I agreed to have done. All in all, I was and am extremely impressed and satisfied with everything about this shop. I spent much less money to have five different issues repaired on my vehicle at Hye-Tech than what I was quoted to replace my water pump alone by every single shop I visited prior to coming to Hye-Tech. John and Harry are very friendly, honest, and trustworthy. They are also very knowledgeable and experienced, and they offer GREAT customer service and communication. This is my new go-to shop for any issues involving our family vehicles. Thank you, Hye-Tech Auto Repair, for a very positive experience.
