The guys here were honest and helped me with my cars needs at a fraction of the price of what Honda wanted. This is now my go-to for any car maintenance needs! o5.1o.2o22 This was the autoshop Brenda from Autozone told me about. She said they order parts from them all the time and they're very reasonable. So, I decided to swing by around 8:30am even thought they usually operates starting at 9am. I had decided to come here instead of driving 30mins to the dealership because it just didn't seem safe to drive. Apparently, the gate was open when I got there so I just pulled in to the lot. One of the mechanics were there to get ready for open. His name is Andy. He said he starts earlier so he can leave earlier. He asked me to call the owner, Ben, to see if he's ok on checking my car today. I asked if it was too early to call him though and what if he's still sleeping? Andy laughed and said yeah, he comes in late and leaves late, sleeps late too so we don't usually call him in the morning. And I am like...and you're asking me to call him slightly past 8:30am? Funny guy! Well, I waited until after 9am to call just in case. Lol Luckily, he picked up my stranger call. I told him about the report from Autozone and that they referred me. He said he'll have his son take a look when he comes in. Momentarily, Tony came in and tells me the report doesn't have the details and that he will need to run the scanner and assessment fee is $89. It's already cheaper than the dealership so I am down for that. He told me it will take a few hours but I just waited there bc I can't really go anywhere without a car and I do not recommend walking around the neighborhood. I am not brave enough to. Haha. I waited until past 1pm and my husband came to pick me up. Then we did some errands and decided to get some lunch and found this Shabu place! Stay tune for the next review. I called back around 5pm to check on the status and it was ready for pick up. I think it was Andy the picked up but later knowing he leaves at 5pm then it must have been Ben. He explained to me what the possible issue was that caused the signs my car had. He said I didn't need any parts replaced (which that saved me at least $500 I would say). They really went all out trying to diagnose and solve it. Ben already noticed my car was ceramic coated and that was one of the first things he asked me when I went to pick up the car. I told him, yeah, my husband did it. Then those two had a whole freaking conversation about that and wrapping the car bc he got a new Tesla X. And he asked my husband to send him the link to purchase the products my husbands uses. Lol I don't know if I am revealing too much at this point. My husband details car as a hobby when he has time just in case anyone is interested! Lol Ben also was telling us they used to be Tech 1 but it got too small so they moved here. They've been in business for 22 years. They don't have many mechanics bc they want to maintain the quality of their work and never try to charge more just bc someone else has a nicer car, that they treat everyone equal, quote the same way. He said he only works part time now and they try not to take new customers bc they're so busy. He said I got lucky hah! Well, with what had happened thr entire, I'd say I was pretty lucky. I took my 2000 Honda Accord for oil, transmission fluid, and brake fluid flush and change as well as replace the front rotors and pads on 03/07/22. They did an excellent job and Ben took care of me well. To whomever worked on the vehicle, couldn't be happier. The brakes and transmission were well overdue as the brakes had to be pressed more to engage them and that put me uneasy prior to taking it to Tech #2. They made the brakes feel like new and I can now sleep that the trans fluid is new and the oil change has been done. I have to start with Tech No 1 Auto saved me BIG time! As I was on my way back from up North my car broke down in Santa Barbra. AAA took me to the nearest shop and they quoted me $1400.00 to change my fuse box (due to a blown fusible link) and alternator in my Lexus is250. Last two weeks have been hot and my AC was just not keeping the car cool. I knew the problem was more than low freon because I've tried buying those recharge cans with sealers and it was a temporary fix that lasted a few days before I would suffer from the heat again. I searched on yelp for a place with good reviews and found this auto shop. I read some reviews and found that people would bring up Ben's name a few times, sure enough when I called their number Ben picked up and told me some reasonable prices on AC work. My car is 12 years old and needed a lot of work, previous owners and myself haven't done any AC servicing so it ended up costing me a new AC compressor and since were at it we did the condenser as well with a flush. The dealer or other places would of charged me an arm and a leg but Ben worked out a deal and I'm happy in my car again despite LA traffic. I would come back to this mechanic again, he was honest and explained what happened along with the game plan. He showed me all parts were new and compared them to the old parts which is a good practice to know you really got the items you paid for. The team at Tech No2 Auto ( New Location) took care of me in a matter of a couple of hours an I was on my way. I used to take my BMW to another mechanic in City of Industry who would give me an estimate and then give me a completely different bill when I came to pick up the car. They took several days to repair the vehicle and when I arrived to pick it up they had me wait two hours for it to be washed. I don't care about my car being washed, I want it to run efficiently... I don't need a to be charged Beverly Hills prices for simple repairs. That is when I started working with Ben, who is knowledgeable in working with BMW's. He came highly recommended from the El Monte law enforcement community and I can honestly say that he is honest, quick, and on top of everything. Every time I call he answers and lets me know where he is at with regards to finishing the repair. He is reasonable with his prices, doesn't over bill and perform unnecessary work. He once worked several hours trying to determine a mechanical problem with my starter only to discover that it was the actual key that needed to be replaced by the dealer since I was using a spare key that had not been properly programmed. He didn't charge me for any of that labor. It's nice to know that when my car needs work in the future there is a reliable guy I can turn to. Another sucessful visit to Tech #2 auto today for my mom's car which will be getting 3 motor mounts replaced. Greeted by the owner, Benny, upon arrival and within minutes he had the car on the lift identified the issue. Recieved a quote and informed car will be ready for pickup by tomorrow evening.
