I brought in my 1968 Cougar to the shop because my car wasnt shifting properly and i didnt know what was wrong with it. I was greeted by friendly staff, and one of the owners son. They invited me in, offered me water or soda, real friendly. They asked me what was wrong with the car and they were able to check it out within the same hour. They informed me it could be expensive or it could be something small, they were honest. After checking it out and finding the problem it turns out it was something small and gave me a very reasonable price. They could have easily charged me a lot but didnt, they were honest. They seem to work on classic cars there too so thats a plus. After they fixed it they test drove it with me in the car to make sure it was good. I was highly recommended to come to Joe's transmission shop today to see what's wrong with my Toyota and I'm glad I did. Joe was super friendly and personable from the start and made me feel so comfortable leaving my car with him. Before he did any work or even took any money from me, he drove my car around for about 10 minutes. He requested that I ride along, and honestly I am very appreciative of the gesture. During the ride we had a very heartfelt conversation about family and values, and I honestly could've talked to him forever. About ten years ago my transmission gave out on my Ford Explore, I called Boston Transmision in Pico Rivera and spoke to Joe, without meeting him in person I had my Explorer towed to his shop. Being a woman I did not feel he took advantage of me with over charging me like so many other mechanics do to women. Joe was very friendly and kept me updated about my car while it was in his shop. My children and I have continued taking our vehicles to Boston Transmission. We also created a nice friendship that I would ask about his family and he would ask me about mine. About a week ago I called Joe to ask him questions about my Hyundai Sonata that seized on the freeway. Joe is up to date with recalls on vehicles, he looked up information online and suggested to me to also look at the information about recalls on the Sonata's. Joe guided me on what to tell the service department at the Hyundai dealer. I'm happy to say that I did contact the Hyundai service department and my Sonata motor will be replaced by the dealer at no charge.
