The staff helped me pick out the perfect combination of frame and matting that made the piece pop. While I did have to wait about three weeks for completion (and paid more than expected), the result was worth it. Bottom line: If you're not in a rush and are willing to invest in quality custom framing, City Picture Frame delivers beautiful results. Just be prepared for the wait and the higher price point.

I brought in a mirror that had separated from its frame, and honestly wasn't sure it could be saved. Jonathan not only took on the challenge, but completed the repair right then and there while I waited -- and the finished product was absolutely perfect -- you'd never know it had ever been damaged. The frames that they came in were quite bad, so now ay was I going to hang them up on our walls as we decorate. Originally we went somewhere else, but it took them 3 weeks to figure out a frame we wanted was out of stock and they just didn't seem that professional or knowledgeable in what they suggested, so we went here instead. I spent plenty of time on Fillmore street and came in before to buy some picture frames and liked the store, it had a great selection of a wide range of frames and they handle real art, so fear not if you have expensive paintings they will be handled with care. So we brought both pieces in and spent about an hour figuring out the frames. The owner was there and spent time helping us and giving great suggestions but not pushing anything we didn't need. The other place tried to get us to buy museum glass which is really pricey and not necessary, she told us flat out it's not going to make a difference for us since there is not direct sun or glare on the piece. The selection was great, lots of wood frames, lots of textures and styles for everyone and definitely quality and elegance in everything. We love love love our finished products, it's like we have new art in the house! While the price was slightly higher than the first place we went, it's well worth it for your nice art pieces and things that make a statement.

They do decent work, first off…read more The last piece I had done--and I've had six here--was about 4-5 years ago so take this with a grain of salt. But the person who was in the shop, a woman who told me she had some previous living experience in China since I brought in some Chinese calligraphies-- was extremely unprofessional. I told her that the calligraphies were valuable --they are museum-level valuable calligraphies and that I would be prefer she not touch the surface unnecessarily. Her response was, "We always touch the works, it doesn't matter, see?" And she proceeded to wipe her hands all over them as if to get a reaction from me. Because my partner was there and did not react I felt my hands were tied, but honestly she was a real nightmare. On top of that, we had a 40 dollar off coupon that she didn't honour because she wasn't "great with technology" --where did they find this person? I have had a lot of pictures done and the frames are nice, but this person--and I have no idea if she is still at the shop as an employee--was a disaster.
