We came here for lunch and were not disappointed. Through yelp reviews i read their summer rolls were incredible so we went with that for a starter. They did NOT disappoint with the flame broiled meat instead of shrimp. I had Pho and my friend had ginger tofu (off the lunch menu). Both were equally delicious and i had extra soup to take home. Overall, the atmosphere is clean, staff is friendly, and food was great. I'll definitely return for more! read more

Shrimp salad was good but the vermicelli need more meat. The vermicelli also had lettuce and to much bean sprouts. I would go back to try the other foods since I love Asian cuisine. Thai tea was good as well. read more

Ok I found my go to Phó spot every time I'm in Reno! Literally down the street from GSR. Service is excellent and very friendly! The food is awesome! I highly recommend the Ox Tail Phó!! For a Vietnamese restaurant the price are ridiculously high. Place is not fancy with mixed decorations inside and the quality and freshness of the food and ingredients are not good for the price they charge. Also didn't like how they do not have a small or medium size pho but charging customer $9 for a very large bowl of pho which I can't finish and the food goes to waste. The condiments to put in the pho also looks like they been rewash, reuse from past customers who didn't use all their condiments and serve it to the next customer. But overall the broth of the pho is amazing. Authentic. I'll be back if the price on the food drop a little. read more

A couple weeks ago we tried to get pho at a couple other locations, but they were closed on a Tuesday night?!?! SF Kitchen was close to the second location we tried, so we decided to come here. The staff seemed pleasant and attentive. When ordering pho, there was no option of small or large, it was a single bowl for all. In our group, one person ordered the chicken pho and another ordered the rare steak pho. Both of them said that there was nothing that stood out to make it better or worse than any other pho place, but they both indicated they liked the pho at the other places we go to more. I ordered the grilled pork over vermicelli noodles. The waitress brought out the fish sauce prior to my dish coming to the table. The color was more red than any other place I have been to, and my wife sitting to my right indicated that she could smell the sauce from across the table (to my left). It didn't smell bad, it just had a strong smell. The portion of my dish was fine, and the addition of the fish sauce, made the flavor that much better. I agree with the others, there was nothing that I tried that made me want to come here over the other locations we enjoy. read more

Omg the kung pao chicken here is amazing. Best in the city. Fried rice was excellent as well. Came here around 5pm and it was a little busy but still received very prompt service. Servers were attentive and courteous. Food came out extremely quickly. Nothing bad to say about this place, definitely recommended. read more

I used to go to SK Noodle a lot and pretty much tried most of their menu when the owner Sang was there years ago. I left town and went to grad school in Southern California for 4 years staring in 2013 so when I heard Sang opened up this new restaurant, we had to stop by when we were back in town. Took a while but we finally did on our last visit to Reno. Parking may be a bit difficult especially if the spaces are all filled up. This place gets pretty busy especially on weekends and they ran out of the ox tail pho which my wife and I really wanted to try. We were recommended to get the beef stew instead which was a really good alternative and my favorite when I used to go to SK Noodle back in the day. Their lunch specials from 11am-3pm are really good for the quality and price. I was pretty hungry and with my family so these are one of the rare occasions I forgot to post food pics. Oh well, just stop by if your in the area and try them out. If your lucky, get the ox tail pho! It's a great place to get bulk food trays orders as well which are perfect for parties or special occasions. I have to say the location is very random, but I can't really complain about the availability of the parking. We came on a Saturday night, it was abnormally packed. I don't think they anticipated that many people, but you can tell they were hustling. I am vegan, and wanted to point out they have plenty of vegan options, but mention it to the waiter when you are ordering. I ordered the ramen with the vegetable broth, which was extremely delicious. I stop by here every time when I am in town. Their lunch specials are amazing and pretty filling too. It comes with a cup of soup as well. Depending on the day it is either hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. Both is very tasty. I like the egg drop soup best with a little chilly oil in it. . But if I'm not craving for their lunch specials I would order their pho. They even allow customers to customize the pho. I usually get their number 4 pho with the spicy beef broth instead of the regular pho broth, just because I like the spice. Oh and their ox tail pho is amazing as well. It seems they run out of it pretty quick. Have to be here early if I want the ox tail. A good majority of the food here is made fresh and from scratch. Their pho broth tastes authentic. Unlike some other pho places that uses powder to make their broth. Big difference in quality. read more

This is one place I WILL return to. Arrived a little early, only a few tables occupied. We were seated in a cozy little back corner. Interior is warm, welcoming. Server came over took our drink orders, she was so pleasant, great smile. I had hot tea, he had Tsing Tao. When we visit restaurants that are Vietnamese and Chinese we have a couple of go to dishes to test our likeness of returning Rare beef pho, and sesame chicken. He had the pho but said it was bland. I on the other hand tasted it and found the broth quite rich and flavorful. I think his tastebuds were off that night because he said the same about the potsticker app we had. I disagreed. My sesame chicken was superb. Lovely presentation with fresh steamed broccoli on the corners. Chicken evenly breaded, fried so crisp without overlooking the chicken and sauced perfectly. Mmmmmhmmmm I was a happy camper! I enjoyed the service, once our food arrived we were left alone to enjoy. Some may see that as neglectful, I see it as good service. I've been here before but came specifically for pho this time. I have been to a few other places in town that are dedicated specifically as pho restaurants and really liked the variety of pho and non-pho options SF kitchen has. I got the vegetable tofu pho with chicken broth and it was delicious! They also had a vegetable broth option for vegans. The tofu is fried crispy and so good, especially dipped in the peanut sauce that came with the tofu summer rolls. Reno is not known for its Chinese food, but that doesn't mean a diamond in the rough doesn't exist. After scouring a dozen or so hole in the wall Chinese shops; I have finally found two local joints that I will call home to my china tooth, aka Chinese food craving. When I want a late night bite of generals chicken or honey garlic shrimp, SF Kitchen is my top choice. The setting and decor isn't quite Asian Crawfish, but that doesn't matter once your first bite is taken. My wife and I love honey walnut shrimp, and we will try anything that resembles that on any menu. At SF Kitchen you will not be disappointed with the honey garlic shrimp! Usually there is the issue of too much batter, or sauce that's too sweet, or too few shrimp, or ect... But alas, this dish is quite perfect. As I rant and rave about the shrimp dish, the sezchuan beef was on point as well. With that in mind, I cant stop thinking about that shrimp dish. Now that I've said my piece; go out and try it. I have to give it a 3 stars because I have wasted my time going there three times. They were closed. This restaurant has been my go to whenever I visited Reno. But this week I stopped by on Tuesday and it was closed. The website said open. I went against on Wednesday still closed. The website said open. I tried again on Thursday still closed. I was very disappointed if they were going to closed multiple days. They should at least put a sign stating it. We had summer rolls, vermicelli with bbq pork and spring rolls, and a #1 pho soup. Everything was as delicious as we've ever had. Their bbq pork may even be the best we've had. What is good Chinese food? If you say, 'hot, fresh and tasty', I agree whole-heartedly. SF Kitchen certain are those things. However, in spite of how rare those three aspects are in combination at a Chinese restaurant, SF Kitchen is that and something even more. The "more" is the cook's courage to say, 'here it is'... not hidden behind too much corn starch or some all too easy and common sauce. Each dish is considered valuable and good enough to stand on its own. The freshness comes out in how the dish is made. For example, the hot and sour soup is popping with flavor. The white pepper, which is the 'hot' element, is so fresh and alive that it's like eating this soup new for the first time. I ordered the Lemongrass with Shrimp. The lemongrass was thoughtfully removed just prior to being served, thus leaving the taste of lemongrass in its own true fantastic flavor. The slight breading on the shrimp, which is not breading at all, is there to hold the elixir of flavor combinations waiting for you. The egg roll variety meant that we got to taste all of them! I have paid more and received so much less that I am actually disappointed in myself. I used to eat Chinese food in San Francisco. This is a level above insofar as you also have the clean, crisp elegance of a Vietnamese cook. She does not leave it all to chance or rote. I mourned Thai Nakorn closing, but welcomed a new Vietnamese restaurant in it's place, especially since the owner was formerly (like wayyy back in the 90s) with Golden Flower and SKNoodle, both places we expect solid food with a couple of consistant standouts. SF kitchen does a really solid Pho broth that's made from simmered bone broth, not from a powder mix. They also do thick hand made dough wrapper potstickers that are plump and flavorful with a great sauce. We like this style, although if you prefer a thinner skin you will not. (these come close to the wonderful potstickers from the now closed Peony, which we only discovered about a month before they closed. ever since then we've been chasing that dragon to find potstickers like theirs!). Their broccoli beef is perfect with tender slices of beef, tendercrisp broccoli all enrobed in a rich savory brown sauce/gravy. I'm not a big fan of any of their batter fried dishes like calamari or sesame chicken due to the thick batter, but their sesame chicken sauce is very good and zesty. When my family is wanting potstickers and Pho and I'm not feeling up for such a filling meal I get the $3 wonton soup. It's a nice size bowl of clear broth with 5 or 6 little purses of pork filled wonton skins and some fresh bok choy. Another standout is the summer roll with grilled pork strips and crispy bundle of cha gio wrapper inside, it's like a handheld bun noodle roll. When the owner is there they are always very nice. I do know the waitress that people complain about, I remember her from Golden Flower. She's brusque in a seemingly harried manner, but she's never been outright rude. It was disappointing. My sister in law recommended it so we came in for lunch. Half of the stuff we wanted to order was sold out. They just opened at 10am and we came in right at 12. It took forever for our food to come out. They didn't offer us any water, we had to ask for it. Our yellow noodle was tasteless. Maybe they ran out of the broth and just added water or something. My daughter's noodle was the same. My pho wasn't too bad though. My son liked his rice plate. I was debating between 2 and 3 stars but decided on 3. If I can give this restaurant negative stars I would. This place was such a disappointment. Literally came here to try the oxtail pho and bun bo hue and they were out. No noodles for the bun bo hue, completely out of oxtail pho, and ran out of beef stew. Mind you, we were here at 11:30 am. So there should be no way they were out of food at all. We ordered the bun bo hue and beef stew then was told while waiting for our food they were out. Reordered new food and everything was completely bland. We had pho ga, seafood noodles, pho dac biet, rice plates, and spring rolls. Adding hot sauce, hoisin, and the toppings is to enhance the flavor, but there was nothing to enhance. The best thing about this place is the soda. We had 6 adults and 6 kids. The kids didn't even like the pho and rice places. Idk what to say about this place. This restaurant was astounding. Nice staff, beautiful interior, delicious food. When interacting with the staff we were returned with warm smiles and attentive service. Restaurant is fairly small but relatively clean. Lighting set a fancy mood and walls were layed with hard wood. The most amazing thing, by far, was the food. Trying their "family dinner B" we got to sample a number of appetizers and two main dishes of our choosing. All the food tasted authentic and original; it would be difficult to recreate and that was an amazing experience. For appetizers we were given potstickers, deep-fried shrimp, eggrolls, and egg drop soup. All reminded me of homemade versions of themselves, fantastic! Walnut shrimp had a light crisp exterior and warm soft interior. The taste of walnut was well introduced in the sauce, which had a highly creamy and a balanced touch of sweetness. I would definitely recommend ordering this dish. Mongolian beef is usually too salty, but not here. SF Kitchen does well balancing flavors on all of the usually saltier foods. read more

This was my first time here and I can say I wasn't disappointed. Though it was questionable as to whether I'd be able to get in the restaurant as the door latch mechanism broke and nobody could get in or out. A Good Samaritan diner helped them get the door open finally but it was quite funny! I'm glad I waited for the door because the food was wonderful; great flavors and plenty left over. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty and the Mongolian bed was spot on, not too spicy but certainly not bland. The sesame chicken is some of the best I've tasted in years with a great balanced sauce, not too sweet and very nicely crisped chicken. I'm looking forward to another visit for the pho. read more

I ordered 5 dishes from here and she was so quick to ask me "is that it?" (I don't know about you but, I'd like to be the one who ends the order since I'm the customer. Right?!)
