Absolutely shady, he will do anything to get your business, but once you handover your device, you are in for a never ending wait. My first bad experience was somewhere in 2020. At that time I gave him the benefit of doubt. Recently I took my MacBook which had a blown motherboard, diagnosed by Apple authorized center. I just took it to him to see if my data can be restored. He said it may not be motherboard issues. It could also be battery issue. He tried to sell me another motherboard for around $360. Anyway I left the MacBook with him with the assurance of being called back in 1 hour. Of course I received the call, but he said the issue was with the motherboard and advised me to get the motherboard replaced. I refused and asked him to give me back my MacBook after putting the things back in. He started saying that he did not have time to put it back. Anyway after 5 hours I got it back, that too I had to personally go to his shop and wait there. He charged me $60 for diagnostics for something which Apple authorized center had already diagnosed. For what? For unscrewing and screwing back again. There was no mention of diagnosis charge when I handed the laptop. This is a mom and pop type of shop located directly across the street from the 7-11 on Jackson Street in Hayward. I have an Apple iMac and the work was completed without issues. I would strongly suggest either texting or calling Vicente first, rather than just showing up to his shop to let him know you're on your way to see him. As I mentioned earlier, this is a small business so there may be times where he needs to leave his shop momentarily and you may miss him if you just show up without giving him a heads up. When my daughter picked her phone up, she noticed the quality of the screen was very poor. The front facing camera was visually grainy which affected FaceTime, videos, and camera quality. My daughter ended up going back to have it looked at and Raj and Adeel let her know that it was her screen protector. They removed the screen protector which doesn't make sense at all, but my daughter left thinking that everything was resolved. Wrong, the quality of the front camera was still an issue with no change or improvement. She also purchased the screen protector from the store and never received a refund. She came back a third time and they ended up replacing the screen. Usually, second time's the charm right? Not this time. The quality was exactly the same. My daughter tried messaging through Yelp to find a resolution, but her messages were completely ignored. I'm disappointed in the customer service this store provided although having a good rating. My daughter had to find a more reliable and dependable store to have her screen replaced. So far, it's as new as the day we bought it. Not to mention that the new store we went to was very friendly, fast, and provided a warranty. Having to pay for another store's failure is unpleasant.
