I had taken my computer to another shop, where one issue was replaced with another. Didn't feel confident about leaving it there, so I turned to Yelp to find somebody else near where I live and that's when I found Vicentech. This is a mom and pop type of shop located directly across the street from the 7-11 on Jackson Street in Hayward. I have an Apple iMac and the work was completed without issues. I would strongly suggest either texting or calling Vicente first, rather than just showing up to his shop to let him know you're on your way to see him. As I mentioned earlier, this is a small business so there may be times where he needs to leave his shop momentarily and you may miss him if you just show up without giving him a heads up. The HDD failed on my server. It corrupted the partition table on the HDD where backups are stored. Vincente came onsite, pretty accurately diagnosed the problem, installed windows on a new HDD (but did not activate it!!!) then left. After that he became unresponsive. It was entirely up to me figure out how to finish reinstalling Windows and recover backups. This abandonment and lack of service and no response is confusing. Vincente left knowing i was not up and running and to expect further contact. There was still money to be made here. Is this a business or a hobby? read more

How are you gonna have a store with certain hours posted and not be there? Very unprofessional, doesn't even have a time that you would return. If you want to sit around wait and guess what time he will come back then this is the place for you. Don't even bother calling ahead he will not be there. Should not be this hard to get your computer fixed, even calling ahead and setting a time would not help, very unreliable. What a waste of time next time go to any other store. He works as quickly as possible and does his best to explain whatever problem is being addressed. He also carries an inventory of useful computer supplies -- memory cards, flash drives, etc. The one-on-one nature of the service you get with Vicente, and his excellent talent and ability to diagnose, quietly work on and solve your computer woes, puts him an edge above massive Geek Squad-type companies that take your money and reformat your hard drive and call it a day. Took my laptop here due to missing keys on my keyboard due to misuse from a previous person. I was given a fair quote for the three missing keys, however Vicente suggested I get my keyboard replaced with a new one for about the same price. I agreed. This place was such a disappointment. I'm not very computer savvy at all and took in my older desktop for a checkup or estimate because it has been making a loud humming noise as of late. Drop it off and the employee says he'll call in 2 of hours to let me know if it's a fan issue, hard drive issue, or virus. It was my day off so I ran errands all day. Six hours later still no call. I call in and he says it's hard drive damage. He says it will be $150 to fix. I asked if it would be worth fixing or if I should just purchase a new computer. ..again I know very little about this stuff. He says it's up to me. I tell him to go ahead and fix it. It will be ready tomorrow by 6 pm. I let the next day go by due to my work schedule I couldn't make it by six. I call in the next day asking if I could stop by before work to get it, sure he says. I show up about 20 mins later...it's not ready it needs to update, should take 15-20 minutes. Okk that sucks, I can't wait since work is 35 minutes away and I had timed it so that I could spend ten minutes there. He says to pick it up tomorrow.. Saturday. I show up at 10 when they are to open, I wait 20 minutes and leave a message saying I'm outside waiting to pick up my computer and would like a call back as I have to leave to get to work on time. 30 minutes later he calls and says he was running late and just got to the store. They are closed Sunday so Monday I pick it up finally for $150.00 (that's with the 10% off yelp coupon). I get it home and it is unable to connect to the Internet bc of the new hard drive. I go get a network cable for $20 at best buy. Today ...just a couple days later it's making the noise again. I call and tell him this, to which he says I didn't hear a noise here. Well yeaahh the door just a couple feet away is wide open to Ast! So frustrated, I feel like I totally wasted nearly $200 plus all that time and gas since this place is 15-20 minutes away from my house and out of my way to work. Just awful. read more

I GIVE MORE LIKE A --5 STAR REVIEW!! But it wouldn't let me continue without tapping on a star. I have read some of these other reviews and I'm wondering if these other people are talking about the same computer repair shop and the same person who runs it because my experience was a nothing like theirs! I sure do wish it had been! But we are talking about the same shop and the same person named Vincent who runs it. And for some reason my experience with him was not a very good one and I am extremely upset and left unsatisfied with his horrible service with my IPad that was brought in to his shop for him to fix. So let me explain my story a little more from the beginning. My boyfriend had brought my IPad to him on October 10, 2016. I wasn't there when he dropped it off on that day, and I really wish I had been so I could ask him if he had ever replaced an IPad Air 2 screen before because that was what I needed done to it and it also needed a new battery replacement too. At first, I was paying him in payments because I didn't have all the money right away so he was cool about me making payments but that was the only good thing out of this whole situation. A week went by, then 2 weeks, then 3 weeks. By then I had paid him the full amount. I began trying to contact him to ask what was going on and all I kept getting was excuse after excuse. He kept telling me it will be done by the following week and that he got the new screen but he broke it while replacing it so he had to order another one and he then told me again that it would be done by the following week. Whenever I called him he never answered his phone and when I went there he was never there and he would have a sign on the door with a time he'd be back, but he was never back until 2-3 hours later than what his sign said. At times, I would be sitting there for close to 2 hours waiting for him and then I would just leave because he never even showed up and I got tired of waiting for him. After a month of him still having my Ipad, when I finally got in touch with him, I just got another Bull**** excuse from him. He told me that they haven't sent him the screen yet, but they just shipped it that day and it would be there the following week. So that following week I went to the shop expecting it to finally be done and nothing or no one! Again he was not even there. He was never there. When I finally got a hold of him, I mentioned to him about him always being gone and I was wondering why? He said that he was working on another project somewhere else and that is why he was always gone and away from the shop. And never back at the time his sign on the door says too. I began seeing why my Ipad wasn't done yet. Now it had been a month and a week since my Ipad was brought to him with nothing done to it. I began telling him that I just want my Ipad and money back so I could bring it somewhere else. He told me that FedEx had tried to drop off my screen the day before, but he wasn't there to get it! Surprise, Surprise!! I had just told my boyfriend the day before that that would happen because he was never there. And it happened! I was just going to get my Ipad and money back, but he talked me into giving him 1 more day and he would fix it as soon as the screen came later that morning. So I did. Well the screen came, but when I went to pick it up later that evening, some other customer walked out with her laptop all fixed and what do you think had been done to my Ipad that he has had for over a month now? Still nothing! He told me that he cut his finger and wouldn't be able to fix it by the time he closed. I then asked him for my money back and he told me he didn't have all of my money in the shop and if I came the next day by noon, he would be done with my Ipad. All of that just happened last night. So today, I went there by noon hoping my Ipad would be finished but it wasn't. He showed me his scratched finger and said he was going to the hospital. Wow! I just couldn't believe it! Really? I demanded my money back and my Ipad and left very upset! I would just like to warn and advise everyone who has an Ipad never to bring it there. I don't think he knows how to repair Ipad screens and he doesn't seem to have the time to fix them.
