My daughter likes this place. She likes their orange chicken so when I was driving by, she wanted some. They give HUMONGOUS portions for the value. I really enjoy their hot and sour soup with hot chili oil...delicious. It's the only time I have that soup. One large order of hot and sour is only $4.50. VALUE. I ordered three containers and one soup for about $35. We wont be able to finish. All good, leftovers it is.

The serving is humongous. The food is actually not bad. The staff were very friendly. The place is clean. Recommended for people who's in a hurry and hungry.

I was relatively surprised with this place. I'm always around here because of the huge plaza and all I wanted was to get some boba and I saw the sign and I was all over that. Went inside and I happened to have my in laws with me and they wanted to eat. They got food I got boba, we sat down to eat and I was drooling over their boba, wasn't the best but it was great being it was at a Chinese restaurant. Their food was good to, had a bit of a taste of chow mein it was ehhh, rice was good, orange chicken had good sauce, beef broccoli was tasty as well. Its quick and cheap service was great and very clean establishment. I would come back again(^.^) Happy eating

Average place, nothing worth noting. Panda Express is more authentic (being sarcastic). The prices are decent.

I really enjoyed the dimly lit Hong Kong style bar. Food arrived pretty promptly after we ordered but we did get an array of hot and cold items. Flavors were fabulous. Fish potstickers had a delightful crunch and savory, flavorful filling. Shrimp shumai have a nice bite with plenty of filling. Our chili oil noodles had a great texture and wasn't too spicy. Their house made chili oil had a nice spice profile, not wildly spicy. Quaint place that was a perfect spot for two. Prices were reasonable and their house drinks were well balanced. Great experience.

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity. This that wonton place your girl tells you not to worry about forreal. Will be coming back despite the long drive from home.

Overall: 4.8!!! Can't wait to come and eat here again!…read more TLDR: casual vibe, good food (get beef noodle and pork belly) Ambiance: 5/5 (for casual dining) Woon is a cute vibrant eatery that charmingly reflects the essence of a homey Asian family style meal. From the short booths inside to the outdoor bistro style seating, there's nothing overtly fancy about the place. Definitely a casual vibe. Most importantly, I didn't feel like I'd be judged if I pulled up in a shirt and shorts. The kitchen is open and you order at a walk-up style register. Because of this, it was on the louder end (volume wise) throughout the meal since we sat inside BUT it was not too loud to have a good catch-up conversation. Definitely prefer the ambient noise of a bustling restaurant instead of the blaring electronic music found in many LA restaurants. Service was fast and friendly!! Food: 5/5 After eating here, I will be bringing everyone who visits me in LA to Woon!! I can't wait to eat here again! I ordered the beef noodles, pork belly over rice, the five spice chicken wings, and one scoop each of the two ice cream flavors they had. Holy sh*tballs the food was so good. The beef noodles had such a good flavor and the noodles themselves had an amazing chewy texture. The pork belly melted in my mouth and the sauce drizzled over the rice and veggies was so good - I actually ended up taking just the rice and veggies home (I had eaten the whole pork belly) because I couldn't stand to waste the sauce. The chicken wings were crispy and seasoned well but happened to be my least favorite dish (which is crazy because it was still so good!). I think eating the pork before the chicken definitely skewed it :) lastly, the ice cream was so delicious! I'm not completely sure if the flavors rotate but I had a vanilla scoop with peanut brittle topping as well as a vegan pineapple sorbet with a frothy pina colada tasting topping. I was so full from my actual dinner but the dessert was so good that I ended up scraping the bowl clean. When I go back, I'll be ordering the beef noodles, pork belly, and ice cream again!! I also really want to try the gai lan the next time. Price: 5/5 Definitely reasonable and a great value for the amount you get! Parking: 4/5 Street parking as much of LA usually is. Can be pretty busy and hard to find parking in the surrounding area. Got lucky and found a parallel spot down the street. Surrounding area: 5/5 I personally love a good bar after dinner and Rasarumah was such a cool/groovy place to grab a post-dinner cocktail! It was also only a block away. Echo park is also not very far if you wanted to get a little crazier. Not completely sure what else there is to do around the area especially in the daytime.

Woon actually wasn't on my radar but a friend visiting suggested it. I was pleasantly surprised to…read moresee it on a corner of a street I've driven hundreds of times. It's a very small (but super aesthetically cute) spot. There is a tiny parking area (I believe 3 spots) but we found street parking on temple. Menu is small and everything sounded great. (I learned they used to be a food pop up/cart, so makes sense!) You order at the counter and then pick a spot. The dining room inside is small with a handful of tables, but they also had many tables outside on their patio and alongside Reno street. I loved the photos of the family of the creators sprinkles through the dining room. Food was yummy. I had no expectations and I enjoyed it. The wings were nice and crunchy with tender chicken inside. Beef noodles were great, too. My only tiny qualm was staff, tho helpful, all looked very serious and I saw no smiles. It was a weird contrast to the charming spot.

The reception wasn't warm as the girl was on the phone and she just waved at us to get in. Food was scrumptious. Their basa fish fillet in chilli sauce had to be the best I've tasted. The fish was tender, sauce yummy, veggies fresh! It was excellently prepared. Husband and Wife beef and tripe slices was another outstanding dish. It was so good I had to order more rice to eat with it therefore happily broke my diet again. Steamd eggplant with pickled condiment on top tended to be on the salty side, it was soft and tasty. I loved it! Service was lukewarm at best. The girl performed her service in a convincingly nonchalant way. But at least I got lemon infused water refilled twice. :) Well decorated with Chinese cultural elements. Very spacious, clean and peaceful ambience. We had a lovely time and will return.

Funny enough, I actually discovered Firstborn by asking AI to recommend restaurants in Los Angeles with a good prix fixe menu. Firstborn came up, and they had reservations available, so we decided to give it a try. At $68 per person for the prix fixe menu, I thought the price was very reasonable for the quality and creativity of the food. The food was excellent, and what really stood out was how creative and unexpected the dishes were. Don't come here expecting traditional Chinese food just because of the name or concept. Instead, expect a unique take with interesting flavors and creative twists that make the meal feel different from your typical dining experience. The service was fantastic throughout the evening, and the cocktails were good as well. My only minor complaint was that the restaurant felt a little cold in terms of atmosphere (and temperature). The cocktails were also a bit on the expensive side, but those were relatively minor issues compared with how much we enjoyed the meal. We didn't mention that we were celebrating our anniversary, so there wasn't any special recognition, but that's entirely on us for not letting them know! Overall, Firstborn delivered a memorable dinner with creative food, excellent service, and a reasonably priced prix fixe menu. I'm glad I took a chance on an AI recommendation, and we'd definitely consider coming back!
