Is a ok Chinese food restaurant, their selection of items are not the greatest but are ok , place looks clean and staff is friendly , but taste of food still needs a lot of work, it was a good try out place , but not a comeback place

2/24/22 Been a looonnngg time since hubby & I stopped by to eat/order from this place. It's literally years. But guess what?! Cathy remembered my name right off the bat. Now I totally appreciate this place just for that! Normally I would rate it a 3 but it's deserves an extra star for her great customer service. She doesn't skip a beat, making great conversation as she starts working on my order. It is conveniently located in front of LAC-USC Medical center in a tiny plaza a few doors down from Yumyum donuts. Small parking lot but we usually get a spot when we visit. For a 3 item combo it's $9.50, had my choice of chow mein (and/or half steamed rice or fried rice) & the usual suspects, beef broccoli, orange chicken & chicken with zucchini & mushrooms. She doesn't skimp so unless you're really famished maybe you can finish it off--highly unlikely. It all tasted great especially the orange chicken (tangy, not to sweet & a little crunchy the way i prefer) & the broccoli is still fresh & vibrantly green & crisp. She ran out of soup but I told it was alright, although she apologized for not having anymore. It was about sn hour to closing anyway. The place is showing its age, wear & tear but it's neat & clean. Will be back when craving these dishes & when I'm too lazy to bring lunch from home (or too tired to cook after my shift) Thanks Cathy! You're the BEST!

The food here is pretty good and the service is awesome. The lady behind the counter was quick efficient and so friendly and sweet. I can see why they're busy. I'm glad I discovered this little spot for a quick and easy meal.

Tiny almost empty container of hot sauce.. egg drop soup behind

First time..Came for lunch. I ordered 2 Item Combo. Chow Mein , Jalapeno chicken and Orange chicken it comes with a small egg drop soup. I was hoping it would be good.. well was disappointed. Dry overcooked chow mein, dry/rough overcooked or old jalapeno chicken I couldn't tell probably mixed with fresh and old pieces of chicken..It had good flavor but the texture was too rough couldn't even enjoy eating it thought I was eating pork... The orange chicken was ok as in taste but chicken rough as well. The egg drop soup was watery and flavorless. Stingy on hot sauce I asked for hot sauce and they give it to you in a container almost empty like what am I supposed to do with this.. for 1 piece of chicken? Tried to wettn up the food but can't even give me a good amount of hot sauce to try ! ;( I tried to eat my food just cause I was so hungry but ended up throwing more than half away.. it's rare when I throw food away that's how bad it was. ;( The food should be fresh during lunch time I went an hour after they opened! I'm not understanding the good reviews smh.. I won't be back.

A great view of their health code grading. It's an A!

Parking: The restaurant is located in a small parking lot by yumyum donuts and a gas station. Free parking. Staff:Super friendly Price: nice! Health rating: A! What can I say? The price is right and the food has all the flavor it should! Nothing like a little "Fried Rice" express that is

We had two orders of slippery shrimp, kung pao chicken, eggplants with hot and spicy garlic sauce, juicy steamed dumplings, and pork fried rice. Overall, both restaurants in Chinatown and Pasadena provide great food quality. The ambience was cozy with dim lighting. Our round table had a wooden rotating tray. They have pictures of celebrities and politicians who've visited their restaurant. Service was relatively quick, but there was a 20-minute wait for the dumplings. Valet parking can get difficult when the lot gets full. A few cars entering the narrow driveway had to reverse out of the way to let others leave. The kung pao chicken was very tasty with a good amount of spice. I noticed that the slippery shrimp didn't taste as spicy as the portion from Pasadena. Reviews say that the spice is adjustable. Regardless. it tasted great as it came right off the pan. The pork fried rice was delicious with a savory flavor that didn't seem overpowering. I thought the juicy steamed dumplings were the weakest dish out of our whole order. There wasn't enough flavor and heat from the broth. I didn't try much of the eggplants, but they tasted adequate for me.

Anything you can eat you any night you don't have to cook is usually a great night out. This evening was no exception. Our waitress was kind and accommodating. Their pork shumai was delicious, xiao long bao's soup dumplings were flavorful. Delicious. I definitely need a second trip here to try their soups and more of their variety of dumplings.

Our go-to dishes are the cucumber salad (refreshing and perfectly crunchy), green scallion pancakes (especially good with the chili sauce), pork shumai (better than Din Tai Fung imo), and the spicy pork wontons. On our most recent visit, we tried the sesame noodles, and I've been daydreaming about them ever since. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the vibes inside are great, and there's a solid drink selection with cocktails, draft beer, and bottled options. And the price point? Outrageously reasonable, especially in this economy. Consistently delicious food, great service, and incredible value. Highly recommend!
