I absolutely love this place. It is a gem. I found it one rainy day looking for some close-by Asian cuisine and let me tell you this place does not disappoint. The menu is small so you know they do what they do good or shall I say great. I love the sisters that own the spot. They are very kind, attentive and even let me bring my bicycle in so I didn't have to watch it outside. The space is small, but it has a familiar feeling. You feel as though you are about to eat someone's families best dish. This is the yellow curry. It is some of the best curry I've had, especially so close to home. This time I got the passionfruit green tea and after the last few hot days we've had, so refreshing. I've also ordered the rose lychee green tea, and it's amazing! That was an amazing meal! I'm going to be dreaming about it for days . The server was super helpful, shared with us all the ins and ours of the menu and really made us feel at home. This cute cafe had people come through the entire hour we were there. We shared 2 orders or Crab Rangoon that was super flavorful. Then 3 of us shared the following and we left with sooooooo much, the portions are amazing: - Wonton Noodle Soup, I could eat this on repeat with their house made chili oil. (My favorite bite! ) - Popcorn Chicken (the deep fried basil was a new experience that I needed) - The Fried Chicken Rice, this was so good. Our vegetarian had the Tomatoe Sauce Rice with Tofu instead of chicken, she loved it. We had a few Passion Fruit Green Teas with coconut jelly lychee and a lychee Lemonade and that Lemonade was the star, it was everyone's favorite. Why it did take my Salvadoran neighbors telling me about this spot for me to realize Im so late to supporting my paisanas here? This used to be a mid pho place but the new owners said they moved here 2 years ago! The guilt is real. When I walked in they greeted me like my tias would have, no hesitation and in my native language (mandarin with a Taiwanese accent). The food here is like a restaurant version of what you'd have at someone's house it's just a little more spiced than what my family would make because salt is bad for you blah blah but it tastes good to me and the decor awakens an ancient nostalgia. It's homey the vibes kinda like Otomisan if you know what that is but also more "unfussy" to use a google word. I'll definitely be coming back cuz I felt like a kid who hasn't called home when I left and she asked if I was a local cuz she hasn't met that many overseas Taiwanese in the neighborhood. But enough about Asians you should just go try this place it's like teleporting into Taiwan in 2000 without needing a plane ticket or a time machine. I continued to have a seat close enough to the only source of fresh air they had running at the time which was a floor fan, fine. I mentioned to the hostess the place was a tad bit warm and she then proceeded to run the air conditioning which was nice. I sat there for several minutes glancing at the hostesses every other minute and so and still no service. Finally I stood. Look for the ceramic cartoon characters just outside the door of this palace of great Asian on Asian fusion cafe. The service could not be better. The owner is always there with a smile and great vibes. The food is delicious in great portions. My favorites are the cold noodles and yellow curry. Very unassuming spot. Seems like a lady and her run run the spot by themselves in a very home-esque kitchen. They did mention you can park in the empty unpaved lot across the street. Very Taiwanese centric and surprisingly delicious. We were the only people in for weekday dinner. Before we were in the ladies were mostly sitting at a table with no A/C on, but after we said we were dining in, they gladly closed the front door and turned on the wall mounted A/C units. We ordered the pork chop rice and popcorn chicken. The pork chop was legitimately the softest most tender pork chop I've ever tasted. And it tasted perfectly like the salt and white pepper offerings from Taiwan. The rice provided also had pork belly mixed in it. The popcorn chicken was more similar to Japanese kaarage in size, but still had that classic white pepper and salt flavor. All in all, a great little takeout spot with limited offerings but really provides that authentic Taiwanese taste. read more

So service was great - they accommodated me by taking a phone order and preparing the food for my group to eat there (we are limited on lunch time). Our group had the popcorn chicken, spicy wonton, beef noodle soup, pork chop rice, and the Thai curry (chicken). All the foods were a solid 4. Is it PP PoP? - no, but it doesn't aim to be. They intentionally aimed to offer a touch of fusion given their food background (SE Asian) to broaden their reach in this neighborhood. I'm actually surprised and pleased they offer one thousand year old egg + tofu. I ordered the Fried Pork Chop Rice that one likes taiwanese style and I like that nothing goes wrong with it . My husband had the tomato sauce rice with shrimp. That one it's sooo good, especially for the flavor, we have never had that before! My daughter had the house cold noodles that were great. The combination of all the veggies and sweet n sour sauce it's really good for the hot weather out there. We also got the side dish, the spicy wonton which has added bean sprout at the bottom when eaten with the wonton that will bring up the crunchiness that's really good as well. The chili crisp topping also seems to be homemade with an awesome nutty sweetness you don't get with Lao gan ma. The popcorn chicken is legit with the right amount of spice, fried basil, and crunch.
