Been trying different Vietnamese iced coffees in Chinatown and this one was pretty yummy, 10/10, walked to the restaurant and it felt like walking into a hole in the wall but it was cool, quick service too

A friend recommended I try the Pho here and I'm soooo glad I did! I had the order delivered and everything was perfectly sorted and packed. My only complaint was they didn't include siracha or hoisin sauce but, the broth is so good - I didn't miss it. The broth is truly amazing, the beef was tender even though I opted to have it cooked before adding it to my bowl. The basil and bean sprouts are the perfect addition to the Pho, it was perfect. My friend ordered the shrimp pho with extra shrimp and he loved it. I highly recommend checking this place out for amazing pho.

I don't normally eat Vietnamese food at restaurants cause it's hard to beat mom's cooking at home... but my friend was craving pho this New Year's and Pho Saigon Republic was open! FLAVOR (4/5): 1. PHO FILET MIGNON: The broth was clean yet flavorful, and I felt like it didn't need much hoisin sauce, if at all. The portion size is large as well, so I left feeling really full. They provide bean sprouts, lime, and mint. SERVICE (4/5): Service was good. PARKING (2/5): Street parking. I came on New Years and there were plenty of spaces available, but I'm not sure how it is on a normal weekday or weekend. TAKEAWAYS: In my opinion, good pho in LA proper is hard to come by. I think Pho Saigon Republic offers great bang for your buck (I personally recommend the filet mignon pho). As a plus, they're open on New Year's Day!

I never heard of this place nor knew it existed, but on an adventure to get pho, no one got pho. Instead, we grabbed garlic noodles and the vermicelli dish with pork and egg rolls (my favorite!) Omg I absolutely loved the vermicelli and pork dish with egg rolls. It was so fresh and flavorful and the egg rolls that had that crunch, plus my bbq pork might have actually been better than the shaken beef in the garlic noodle dish. The garlic noodles were really good too, but I probably wouldn't come here specifically for these, because there are a few other places that do it slightly better than here. However, if you live close to here or don't want to take a long drive to Orange County or the SGV, there garlic noodles here will definitely fulfill those cravings. The shaken beef was also really tender and full of flavor too, so that was nice. The place has attentive service. Someone else ordered a soup that had its own fire. I want to try that next time! The ambiance is a bit cozy because you could tell the business has been around forever. It's definitely a place worth trying and I can't wait to come back!

1st time here. I tried their Special Beef Combination Noodles "Pho Dac Biet". Portion was huge for their price of $15. The Pho came with big bowl of soup with a lot of noodles and meat pieces. The soup itself tasted good and I can tell they didn't put a lot of msg in it. Beef meats were tender and a lot of variety of pieces included. I was full by eating half of this order. Service was good; staff were nice and attentive. This place is clean and less crowded on weekend. Difficult parking because it is on the street with paid meter parking. But worth to try this place for good price with good portion in today's economy.

Pho Saigon Republic really hit the spot The broth was and perfectly warm you can tell it's been simmering for hours. The veggies and meat were fresh, and the portions were generous so I left full and happy. The atmosphere and the service is quick and chill too, which made it a great place to just sit and enjoy a comforting bowl of pho.Definitely coming back!

This is my new favorite pho spot in Chinatown (and top 5 in LA). The restaurant is no frills but the service is quick. The pho broth is super rock and delicious. We would definitely recommend the oxtail pho, which is served up in two different bowls - one for the noodles, and another for the oxtails. Great portions of meat and noodles! They also have fresh noodles here, which are soft and bouncy and adds a lot of texture to the meal.

Super friendly staff and decent food overall. The pho was pretty good if you're not being too picky. The broth had nice depth, though it could use a bit more spice. They also have a good range of options like seafood soup noodles and beef garlic noodles. The Vietnamese coffee was surprisingly good too. Interior is standard for a Vietnamese spot, clean and casual. Service: Very friendly and welcoming Food/Drinks: Pho had solid depth, other noodle dishes looked good, Vietnamese coffee stood out Ambiance: Simple and casual, typical Vietnamese restaurant setup 7/10 Good pho and great service make it an easy spot to come back to

The food was almost delicious. Everything was good except the jasmine rice. It seemed like it was sitting out there for a minute. I like the fact that the shrimp eggroll they didn't have much noodles in it, which I liked the pho was delicious. We ordered: egg rolls, shrimp spring rolls, brisket only pho, and shaken beef filet mignon w/ jasmine rice. The ambience was OK. I like the fact that there wasn't a lot of people there.

we just got off a cruise (cause we're viet) and we wanted some warm pho to settle our stomachs (cause we're viet) and we stopped by here. LOVED IT. YUMMY! Clean set up, but could use more wall decor I would love to be immersed. The thai tea was strong but a little sweet (cause we're viet) but the pho was scrumptious. The waiters were fast and got 14 bowls out in like 5 minutes I was shocked !

Best pho ever Everything here is amazing! Great service for a small family business Place is small and cozy! Great location!! Best Thai tea! They have fresh coconut

The peanut butter sauce is so rich and thick. You can taste the quality and peanuts

For the last 9 years my favorite pho spot was always Pho Hai in walnut (great place you should check it out) until my fiancé took me here and changed my mind. This is my new favorite pho spot ! I've been here 3 times and everytime it is amazing. I always get the combo pho with no meatball everywhere I go and it's great here. The noodles are perfectly made!!! The caldo has amazing flavor they give a good amount of meat. I get spring rolls everytime too. Spring rolls are fresh great quality but my favorite part is the peanut sauce !!! So Rich and thick hee hee.

My group ordered the #3 pho with rare beef the #4 pho with rare and well-cooked beef and a rice dish. We did not expect the rice dish to have such generous portions. The spring rolls and the crunchy spring rolls for appetizers come in sets of 3 and had the freshest of ingredients. Apparently, there is a private parking lot in the back but we did not find it when we were there. Fortunately, we did find street parking. Allot extra time to find parking since this is Chinatown, LA and you'll be fine.

There were allegedly no tables available so we were told to put our names down. We waited about 7-10 mins and were sat. We each ordered the House Pho since it seemed to be the most popular dish, as well as an order of Spring Rolls. The waiter who was attending to us repeated our order which was (2) bowls of House Pho, Spring Rolls, and (2) beverages. When the food came out we only received one of the Pho dishes and one beverage. We asked to follow up on our additional soup and beverage only to the waited to tell us that we had only ordered one soup dish and one drink. We were very confused since he had repeated the order to us before sending it to the kitchen. The soup itself was lukewarm and flavor of the broth wasn't necessarily extraordinary. Similar to what others have written, it lacked flavor and tasted watered down. Pho should be packed with flavor and hot. The quality of meat was okay, but don't think I'll be going back. I wish I had nicer things to say about this place, but everything was disappointing. TLDR; overhyped, lacks flavor, and overpriced.

Each time I've come the waitstaff has been super friendly, and the food amazing. So, when planning a little birthday lunch for my mom's 81st birthday, this was one of the first places I thought of. My mom lives in south LA and we live in the valley, so after picking her up, we wouldn't have to travel far to eat. Although we planned to arrive to the restaurant at 2, traffic was horrible and we arrived at 230pm. After looking for parking, I dropped the fam off at 2:40 so they could sit and look at the menu while I found parking. I get a text from my husband saying they closed at 3 so hurry. This was news to me, as I thought they closed at 5. I found parking and rushed in at 2:48, to see my family outside the restaurant. Perplexed, I went in to ask if we could still eat, as it wasn't yet 3pm. No wait staff came to the front to greet me, so I walked in a bit and asked the waiter if it was okay to eat. The waiter said we close in ten. I said I thought the website said you closed at 5. I must have read it wrong. I understand, but it's not 3 and we came a bit of a distance and it's my mom's 81st birthday. The waiter, whose name is Jack, offered to ask the kitchen if they would still make food. I said yes please would you ask? While Jack was asking, another waiter asked me if I had been helped. I told him yes, that Jack was asking the kitchen if we could still have lunch. This waiter says, we're closing in 10. I'd like to have lunch too. And walks away. Yes, with shade. Jack returns and says it's fine as long as we can order within a few minutes of getting the menu. I say great and we all come in. The 2nd waiter takes our order with the least amount of personality he possibly can, and the whole lunch is slightly awkward and we're not able to truly enjoy ourselves with the feeling of "we better hurry up and eat" lingering. By the time we ordered and received our food (which was delicious as usual) , there were still 4 other groups of customers there, and we actually left the restaurant within a minute or two after the last customers before us. Also, no one came around to ask how our food was and if we needed anything. I'm giving 3 stars because this experience didn't quite sit right with me. Yes, it was near closing, but your doors weren't closed and there was no sign saying last call/order at 2:45 or anything like that. I feel like once the kitchen approved making our lunch, customer service should have been at its peak for paying customers, who gave no attitude and tried to be as polite with the ask as possible. It was not. I still tipped 25%, because Jack (waiter 1) was polite and my 81 old mama who I was celebrating raised me that way, but I'm not sure I'll patronize them again.
