This is a review for happy hour! It's from 3-6 at the bar and 3-5 at the tables. We sat on the covered little patio and it was great. Service was good and there are a solid selection of items happy hour menu. We tried the wings (yum!), the guac, the croquetas (interesting?), the tostadas (delicious but small). The happy hour frozen cocktail was a tasty blue concoction presented beautifully. And of course, had to finish with the churros. It wasn't a busy evening so they kindly allowed us to hang out at the table and linger after closing our check. Coming here is always great! read more

Fried nigiri appetizer was pretty good. It was fried rice on the bottom, and creamy meat on top. Bottom didn't have much flavor, so the top carried there. Wagyu tartare was also good, but you need to make sure you're including some bread in every bite, otherwise you'll blow your head with mustard. Horchata was delicious. Food took a while. I know it was dinner rush, but I feel like similar establishments don't take as long. read more

Came here for some drinks before dinner and had a great experience. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender. It was happy hour so we lucked out, and they also had a holiday cocktail menu. For drinks we had the pisco sour and the frozen margarita mix as well as the grinch hot chocolate and the champagne with mezcal. Everything was delicious; however, I didn't realize the champagne and mezcal would be a glass of champagne plus a shot of mezcal on the side. Other than that the place was a hit. We also ordered some salchipapas which were a little spicy but super delicious. The happy hour portion was perfect to share with 2 people. read more

A very pleasant experience with some truly delicious food. We started out with happy hour - nice drink specials as well as snacks. Our affable waiter steered us to some of his favorites. The guacamole and queso with chorizo started us off right as well as a taco we shared. Everything is meant to be shared and we did. The raw seafood dishes had our names on them and each one was flavorful, presented beautifully and served promptly. The tuna tiradito with passion fruit and citrus was light, vibrant and lively, a nice summer dish. The tuna tartare was exceptionally pretty to look at and delicious as well, as it melted into our mouths. The carne de onca, with a warm brown bread, had a warm beef filling that was truly satisfying. The short rib pepper pot, tender, tasty and also very filling. Great margaritas all around. Good wine selection by the bottle and glass. Dessert of rice pudding was alright, but the churros were exceptional -- crispy, hot, sugary = wonderful. Reservations recommended, it is a popular spot. Be forewarned: The restaurant is very loud at 82-90 decibels, so you will not be able to talk much, without shouting. read more

My son took me here and it was tasty and a nice atmosphere. We enjoyed a meal that was a taste treat. Great kale salad. Spicy jerk chicken and the coconut rice was rich and tasty I had to take it home for leftovers. I'd come back. Loved the plants and the people celebrating. read more

We arrived during happy hour on the patio and opted for a happy hour marg and guacamole. The guacamole was delicious but the serving size was small for the number of chips we received, so we inquired about purchasing salsa to enjoy with the remaining chips and were surprised to learn that they don't serve salsa. The guacamole was creamy and fresh and a nice light snack for two. He chose the happy hour margarita and reported that it was delicious. I chose the spicy strawberry margarita and it was a wonderful summery flavor combination. Our server was kind and delivered water for each of us by request as well. I find the 20% service charge that is automatically added to the bill confusing because it states that it's to ensure that all service members are paid equally, but isn't a tip?!? It's either the cost of food or the tip imho. If you're charging me additional money to provide to the employees then bravo, but that replaces the tip. A very pricey afternoon snack, but with a lovely outdoor patio and very fresh ingredients. We've been wanting to try this restaurant for many years and I'm glad that we finally did. read more

I had such high hopes coming here!! But was a little disappointed with the food! Came in during restaurant week with two friends. Service was totally fine! Our server answered all of our questions. The atmosphere was great! It was lively and I liked the space. Now onto the food. One of my friends has a gluten allergy, though is usually fine with cross contamination. Sadly she ended up with stomach pains that felt as if she had fully ingested gluten. We can't actually confirm if there was gluten in her food, but she had a strong suspicion. Next, myself and a friend got the short rib pepper pot. It was insanely salty! It was incredibly hard to eat. The sofrito rice also wasn't cooked well. I was super disappointed!! Though to their credit, I did not inform the staff about this, so I didn't get to see if they'd be able to offer any solutions. read more

Okay, I was across the street at Ballyhoo and wanted to get some snacks and an end of the night drink. I can say I wasn't disappointed but I can't in good faith give it 5 stars until I try the ceviche. The service was good and the atmosphere solid. I sat at the bar and just got some shareable because I wasn't too hungry. Got 2 appetizers and one mini drink at it cost more than 30$ so it's a little pricey but it includes a 20% service charge on the bill so be aware of that. The Peruvian nigiri is 9$ and it comes with 2 pieces. I thought it was a rice croquet underneath it but it was fried rice with nigiri on top and while it was only 2 pieces it was good. You decide if it's worth the price or not but I found it tasty, the rice overtook the taste of the nigiri a bit but not enough to make this less than a 4 star review. I then got the the papaya to try to be healthy and it was tasty, gummy and good. I figured to leave a legit review I had to get at least one cocktail and I'm a fan of Negroni's and mezcal so I got the mini Negroni. It tasted exactly as expected. A Negroni but with mezcal so no complaints. Overall it's a bit pricey but solid. Can't complain and it's a solid 4 out of 5. I do want to try the ceviche sometime but overall since I was just looking for snacks and a drink it met my every expectation and then some. No complaints overall but it is a bit pricey. Could be a good date spot read more

I really loved the ambience of the restaurant -- it had a great vibe from the moment we walked in. The food was delicious, and the service made the experience even better. Kristy and Simon were incredibly friendly and helpful when it came to choosing what to eat. The cachapas were outstanding -- like the perfect blend of sweet plantain and warm cornbread all in one dish. Definitely a spot I'd come back to! read more

Brandon, our server, went above and beyond... attentive, super friendly, and just all-around awesome! The food was fantastic. While I didn't try the burrito myself, everyone who did raved about it. I had the empanadas (chorizo, egg, and cheese) with a side of green chili, and they were amazing--the green chili was absolutely spot on. I also sampled the Ranchero Benedict, which had a creative twist with roasted poblano masa cakes and mole verde hollandaise. It wasn't my favorite, but that's probably because I'm more of a classic eggs Benedict fan. Overall, great brunch spot with delicious food and stellar service! read more

We enjoyed a group, family style dinner at señor bear. Highly recommend the burrata and carnitas. We enjoyed everything we ordered with exception of gnocchi. My absolute favorite dish is the churros. I will be back 100% for that delicious dessert. BEEF AGUACHILE wagyu beef carpaccio SAZON CHICKEN CHEF'S STEAK CHURROS PATATAS confit potato HOUSE BREAD My favorite was the churros. Second favorite was the rice that came in the chicken dish. Third favorite the beef aguachile. House bread yummy. I'd skip the potatoes, steak, & chicken, both fresh and delicious, but a bit plain. I will try some other dishes next time. Very lovely ambiance, I enjoyed all the decorations around the restaurant & colors. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Went to the Bear tonight. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures of any of the food. We got the coconut rice, beets, squash, lamb, pork, queso, and guacamole. It was absolutely delicious! It's been a while since I've come here. Not since the summer. They added a new enclosure on the side. Which would be nice when it in winter. And good for chilly nights like today. Manager Virginia was really sweet and our waiter was great. I hope to get back sooner. Excited for sitting outside too! As they have a great patio. read more

Came here for a Birthday Brunch and overall really enjoyed it! They sat us promptly and we had great service the entire time. The empanadas were a big hit, as well as the eggs Benedict! However, there was some inconsistency in the chilaquiles, the first plate that came out (as pictured) was full to the brim of toppings while the other two for our group came out 20minutes late and had significantly smaller portions of toppings. Outside of that, I would say this is a good choice if you're looking for something unique for brunch since the Mexican fusion dishes are very inventive read more

Loved our first dining experience at Senor Bear. Arrived on a busy Saturday night and the host couldn't find our rez.... we then realized my husband confused the dates he made a reservation :). The host was beyond kind and was able to quickly find us a two top inside at a packed restaurant which was greatly appreciated on a freezing Saturday night in Denver. Service all around was fantastic, attentive, just pleasant people working there. Had a few cocktails which hit the spot, whatever drink I had with Mezcal was so good. Food highlights: loved the hamachi appetizer... so fresh and the light sauce was perfect. We decided to share the fried fish which was absolutely delicious. Perfectly fried ... very light, didn't take away from the fish at all. It was a great shared option for two people, served with tortillas and the most perfect pairings of fresh salsas. read more

I don't eat Latin American food very often and was very surprised at all the delicious flavors that each dish had a crispy pigtail Carnitas were delicious and was one of my favorite dishes. Food was just ok. Although the churro was fantastic, the actual dinner and 6 apps we got were anything but. The staff, especially our waiter, were the absolute worse part of this experience. The way he acted was like we were an inconvenience and when you spend $400 dollars for 3 people, you would think that the waiter could at least get you water without being asked twice. read more

Señor Bear was a solid find. We snagged a same-day reservation on a Friday, which was awesome. The vibe inside was great-- music was a little loud when we arrived but once we sat down it did not bother us. The playlist was so good. The cocktails were all solid, but the cucumber margarita was the standout for me. As a Brazilian, I can say the caipirinha was delicious, even if it was a bit different from home. For food, my top picks were the carne de onça and the coconut rice. The wagyu tartare on warm bread was so good, and the coconut rice could seriously be a dessert all on its own. The chorizo was also full of flavor. I wasn't as crazy about the jerk chicken, which was crispy but lacked the spice I was hoping for. The hamachi tiradito was interesting, but just a different style than what I'm used to (it was more Ecuadorian than Peruvian). We finished with the tres leches, which was a modern take on the classic and absolutely delicious, especially the dulce de leche on top. Shout-out to the staff--they were super helpful and gave great recommendations. Definitely going back for that tartare and coconut rice. Yum! PS: Picture of the carne de onça was blurry! read more

The menu is outstanding - you can't go wrong with any dish and the chefs are very creative and unique in what they prepare. Coconut rice is bomb They train their servers incredibly well. Great vibe in the restaurant. Food was good, although a bit overpriced for what it was. Coconut rice was recommended, extremely coconutty with little other flavor. Jerk chicken was good although "jerk" is a stretch. Margaritas were tasty. They forgot our elote dip appetizer, then when we brought it up after they dropped off our main course, they just brought it out and still charged us. We were waiting for a while for the main course so it would have been nice to have an app to snack on. read more

The place was good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. Service was amazing. The vibe and decorating super cute and stylish. Staff super friendly. But the drinks and food was MEH and on the expensive end. I ordered the hibiscus drink--nothing special other than the look. I've had delicious hibiscus drinks elsewhere. Then my husband and I ordered the chicken entree, hot wings, and the side potatoes. The chicken was MEH also--soft, not a lot of flavor. They added sauce at the bottom of the chicken which was their version of mole. Again, had better mole elsewhere at a more inexpensive price. Anyways, I think you are mostly paying for the vibe and looks at this restaurant. read more

We stopped here on a whim, the patio looked quaint and like a great place to enjoy a date night. My issue with this restaurant has nothing to do with the food -- it's the mandatory 20% service charge added on top of the expected 20% gratuity. If higher operating costs require higher prices, then raise the menu prices accordingly. We came here for dinner, but was told happy hour is the way to go. It was very pricy. Quality and portion size was decent. We ordered a bear basket for two of us (basically we let them order for us for a flat rate), and wasn't initially told that it was meant for big groups of people. Still enjoyed it either way. What I loved: their horchata. My GOD, it was good. Also... THEIR CHURROS. These are by far the best horchatas and churros I've ever had. Elevated traditional. It seems like they have pretty interesting drinks. I would probably come here again for drinks and happy hour tacos. Or maybe a bear basket with a large group. read more

Everything was well executed, but it didn't leave much of a lasting impression for the most part. According to the server, the concept is supposed to be "latin", meaning pan-South American. However, quite a few items were Mexican, such as tamales and carnitas, and there was only one red wine from South America. Began with the tuna cerviche, which wasn't pickled as expected. It came with some jalapeno slices and micro-greens in a creamy dressing. It was OK, but a bit bland. The lamb cheeks with broccolini and parsnip puree was excellent! The lamb was incredibly succulent and tender, although a few bites were a tad too salty. The pork tail carnitas were crispy and sticky from a sweet-ish sauce, and came with little ramekins of pickled cucumber, mashed avocado, sliced cabbage and 4 tortillas that weren't particularly flavorful. It was fine, but nothing special. The restaurant was surprisingly uncrowded for a drizzly Friday night. read more

The food is amazing, came here a few times, once for Happy hour, and another time for brunch. The happy hour is a must, as there are many delicious munchies at a very good price. The margarita slushies are a must, and a very good deal. Most of the happy hour food is an upscale version of trashy bar food, everything from queso to wings. I especially enjoyed the Chicharrons, which were perfectly crunchy. read more

I came on Saturday night at 530pm. They had a full house. There were 3 seats left at a window counter. Then someone left and I moved to the bar. I was served by Cailee. She handed me a happy hour menu (3pm-5pm at tables with extra hour to 6pm at bar). I quickly ordered a Paloma cocktail for $9 vs regular price of $15 & Shrimp cocktail for $11. She brought my drink quickly. While looking at Winter 2024 menu ( a customized paper menu), my appetizer came out. Four large shrimp dusted in spices on a bed of ice. Nice presentation. Their regular menu has appetizers both in smaller sizes & shareables, ceviche & crudo, entrees & sides. Lots of choices. The cocktail menu is also large. You can also get wines, frescas and beers. I got a grilled caesar salad and a seared marinated tuna entree. The salad was a bit small with romaine spears. The tuna entree was excellent. I added a cocktail, Mango no.5 made with Stranahan's whiskey & amaretto with egg white. A great drink. I then switched to their house Sangria with red wine & rum. A lighter drink. They add a 20% service fee, so no additional tip is needed. read more

Came here on a Sunday for brunch! Nothing standout honestly. Got bottomless mimosas which has a 90-minute limit and our server said he would put in another round every time our glass was half empty, but we had empty glasses half the time we were there, and at the end when we asked for another he said our time was out! For $33 that sucked lol. The food was decent. We got the breakfast sandwich and the chilaquiles! The chilaquiles were good, no complaints. The bacon on the breakfast sandwich was crispy and delicious but we asked for the egg over easy and it wasn't runny at all. Potatoes on the side were good!
