Went for dinner with my mom. They had a live band playing outside the pub downstairs. I grew up going here when it was in the old building and under different management. The main dining room was closed so we went down to the pub and opted to sit outside for the music. The view of the green is beautiful but on a 90 degree day for a seasonal place I was surprised there were no outdoor fans. Golfers coming of the course do have to walk through the patio area to get back to their cars which didn't bother me but can be descriptive if it's a large group. The lower bathrooms also double as changing rooms for golfers and have a shower and dressing area in each. Our server was friendly and attentive. The menu was small but very varied though there were certainly some colder weather option meals that looked interesting but would have been uncomfortable to eat in the weather. We shared the poutine and hummus plate for apps. The hummus was presented well and flavorful. The poutine had alot of meat, a good dollop of horseradish sauce and a surprisingly small amount of cheese curds. Fries were good. For my main meal I ordered the club sandwich without ham and kettlechips. The club was a single decker and was as expected but just a bit smaller. But the real star of the plate was the home made kettle chips seasoned with old bay. Admittedly old bay seasoning is one of my favorites. I would go back again and try some other things. read more

This is what a $17 pizza gets you there. We ordered this for take out and I had to open the box because it felt like nothing was in there. I've been in the food business for 26 years so I know the profit margin on pizza. When you trying to make 1600% on your pizza you are being too greedy for me. Size wise it's literally the equivalent of a large slice at most pizza restaurants. They should learn marketing 101 and at least put that tiny thing in a smaller box to make it appear a bit bigger. We don't like getting ripped off so won't be back. read more

Had a great time at Seymour's. Walked in, placed our order and took some time to walk around the property to soak in some of the views. Steak was perfectly cooked and delicious as were the sides. Chicken Parmesan was good as well. Chicken was well seasoned. Would've liked more flavor when it came to the pasta--just a minor detail. Ticonderoga has only a few reasonable options for good, let alone great dining...Seymour's started out great but has slipped to just plain okay...with a great view. Prices have exceeded the quality...especially in comparison to past meals, or maybe our last dinner there was an exception? I really miss the true pull-apart roll appetizer with special flavored butters...? Just had a wonderful evening at Seymour's. We knew it would be a busy night so we grabbed seats at the bar to have a drink and be patient. Best decision! Darlene was our server and she made our night! Darlene is a top notch bartender and knows the food menu well. Her recommendations were spent on. Two of us enjoyed different sets of wings. Went for Sunday brunch. Food good and ambiance/views of the golf course were nice. Fair prices, good portion sizes. So, why only 3 stars you might ask? A few flaws. The food, while well prepared, was quite seasoning-deficient. One might wonder if there's no salt, pepper, garlic and onion in the kitchen at all. Nothing worse than bland food at a restaurant. The server, while pleasant, was also the hostess of the place. She might have had too many tables as well. This is solely on management. In NO EVENT should a hostess who greets people, checks off reservations, brings people their tables ALSO be waiting tables, taking orders, bringing food, refilling beverages, fetching hot sauce, ketchup, utensils, etc.... NEVER. First time managing a restaurant ???? This is an epic fail. Whether on ownership or management, this is inexcusable. As a result, beverages (coffee, water, soda, tea) went empty for long periods of time before we were able to flag down our server. Lastly, someone brought a dog into the restaurant. Clearly not a service animal from its behavior. While I am a dog owner and lover, this is unacceptable in an indoor dining. establishment. If this was burgers and fries at an outdoor patio quick service place sure, no problem. But a "fine dining" indoor place, not ok. Probably a violation of health codes as well. What if someone is allergic at the adjoining table? Or if this pet bites someone? Or starts barking incessantly during the meal? Or worse, relieves him or herself on the dining room floor. BIG NO NO. In summary, management needs to change or significantly improve their skills. Someone buy the chef some seasonings !!! read more

Went to another place first but it was closed. We passed Seymour's on the way so we stopped back to have dinner. Steaks were delicious and the desserts were amazing. Not sure about some of the low ratings because this place rocks! 5 stars for sure. read more

I want to love this place. The last restaurant at the Ticonderoga Golf Course burned down several years ago, taking almost 100 years of history with it. The old restaurant was in dire need of updating, and completely lacked outdoor seating, which was always so frustrating considering its spectacular setting, but I loved it for all of its familiar comfort and home town feel. Millions of dollars have been put into the new golf course and restaurant, and sadly I feel nothing. Like I said, I want to love this place. Something is missing. While you can easily see the amount of money that was spent, the restaurant feels sterile and cold to me. Too planned, too precise. Almost like a fancy office building. The landscaping is beautiful but again just seems overdone, like they just can't stop spending money. We have been to Seymour's and the Tap Room Seymour's is the "upscale" restaurant. 5 people $400+ So, for that price, I don't expect to be greeted by our server and repeatedly addressed as "you guys." I don't expect nothing to put my water or drink glass on so that our condensing glasses leave puddles all over the table. I don't expect nothing but the bare table to put my silverware on. Beef is market price. No sides. No bread. You can order bread for $7.00. My husband's $40 rib eye was not good. 4 others had filet, and while it was decent, my cut was decidedly smaller than the others, not appearing to be 8 0z. Plating was nice. $12 Caesar salad was just ordinary, with grated Parmesan and small hard croutons. Creamed spinach was cream with very little spinach. Ice cream dessert came melted. Creme brûlée was awful. I make a great Crème Brûlée! Similar experiences at the more casual Tap Room. Indoor seating very limited. Outdoor seating lovely but noisy under the covered part. Servers trying hard but lack training. Long wait for drinks. Server put her hand over top of glass as she was serving it. Burger was good. French fries limp. Like I said, I want to love this place, but they sure make it hard! read more

The snapper was absolutely delicious. Having eaten a lot of snapper in French St. Martin restaurants, I was hesitant to order it. I thought I would never get anything as good, but the meal measured up for sure. A special treat was the wonderful entertainment - music by Russ Cook. That was certainly a bonus. Went there tonight. Food I had was salmon was over cooked. Sides were asparagus, which was very salty. Mashed potatoes had no taste flavor whatsoever. I was very disappointed. Would not recommend. My husband had blacked shrimp with linguine no flavor at all. read more

A hidden gem! Incredible views of the Adirondack mountains. My husband played golf on the public course earlier in the day and suggested we try the restaurant. It did not disappoint! The country club rebuilt their restaurant and did a fabulous job. Very pleasant greeting and seated immediately with Open Table reservation. This might be a place for pizza and sandwiches based on meals noticed on other tables. They don't do Italian well. Meatballs tasted like there was barbecue sauce inside. Pasta was sticky and lacked sauce to coat it. Mushroom rigatoni lacks salt and mushrooms were hard to find. This place needs a real chef. Will not be going back. read more

Dined at Seymour's twice this week. Food was very good. Minor complaints: dessert menu was limited and service was so-so I think largely due to inexperienced servers. But overall as good as any meal we have had in our many years of travelling to the Lake George area. We will definitely be back again. Went for brunch and view of the mountains was great plus the space is extremely nice. The server got me extra horseradish for my Bloody Mary and the eggs benedict were really good except one egg was a tiny bit over cooked. The home fries were great and I'm not a huge fan of them but they were super crispy like tiny french fries. Had brunch today at Seymour's. Wow! Best brunch I have had in Ti in 25 years. Seriously, the exec chef put out a plate that was perfection. It was 2 eggs easy over with hollaindaise that was creamy and shot through with chives. Every cube of home fried potatoes was crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. A ramiken of corned beef cubes fell apart at the touch of my fork. Surrounding the meat was a delicious meld of root vegetables, corn, and a mystery caramelized veggie that was really good.
