For my cousin's wedding she got her nails and toes done here. She knew exactly what she wanted because she's gone here before. She wanted the dip glitter on her acrylics and a pedicure. When she sat down for her pedicure, they literally wet her feet and painted her toes. No nail clipping nail filing no callous removal nothing whatsoever but painting and wet feet. When he went to do her nails he painted her nails with glitter and she said "oh I wanted the dip glitter" HE YELLED AT HER. He yelled at her and said "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT" and she left crying and still paid and tipped. Don't go here if you want basic human decency. read more

Was hesitant to go here initially because I am very loyal to my San Diego nail shop but was in need of a pedicure last minute while deployed to Yuma. I chose a neon green color from their wide selection & as soon as the gentleman began painting my nails i noticed the color was very sheer, i figured it would just take a couple coats to build up.... NEGATIVE. The color came out looking like a completely different shade. After over an hour my nails were dry on the surface but were smudging all over the place. I brought this to the attention of the owner, his response was that it was too late to fix it & if i wanted a color change i could come in the next day and pay $5 but there was nothing more he could do. I went to get a full set, and I will need to go get these fixed... I set an appointment today and arrived and had to wait 15 minutes to be serviced. Then, half way through my appointment, the nail tech left me and went to give a lady a full pedicure after just putting acrylic on my nails... after waiting 30 mins he came back to finish... they look horrible. I have a white French tip but he used a nail polish remover to make the tip that removed the acrylic so now my nails are 3 different shades, you can see the original nail line and glue underneath, and are transparent when in light... Ive gone to Sexy Nails and Spa 3 times now and each time ive just gotten acrylics. Yesterday rolled around and i was in desperate need of a fill in. Im in the military as well so i have pretty simple and east nails. The first 2 times i just got an almost nail shade of acrylic put on but yesterday i thought i would get a french tip. Its been about 3 years since ive had acrylics taken of but ive never had this done to me in this manner. My nail tech cut a diagonal piece of the tip and got one of the glue on nail tips/ extension pieces and started wiggling it between my nail bed and the acrylic. It was so unbelievably painful and i asked her if it should be and she said "oh it might feel like your nail is being ripped of" and boyyyy it did. She proceeded to do this to all of my nails and i could just see how damaged my layers were on the actual nail. I kind of shrugged it off because maybe ive just never heard of this before having to be done. So she lays on the clear acrylic and just does what she needs to and got a decent amount on my skin and let it dry (i had to peel it off when i got home). Then puts white gel paint on my nails to do the french tip portion of it. At the time i thought it was an amazing idea but now that i got a good look at it you can see where she took the acetone and cleaned it up. But the filing was the worst. Like i said im in the military so i have to keep them relatively short so i understand sometimes you will it the skin a little bit but she filed my tip raw and its happened in the past times i went to this salon as well. She went back and had to do another round of filing and hit the spot and i reactively pulled my had back because it burned. And she laughed and said haha beauty is pain. Its okay. I really wanted to love this place but those things added up and cant bring myself to go back. Little side note: my nails hurt now from how bad they are damaged from this appointment. read more

This place had really great reviews so I decided to try it out. I made an appointment at 4:30 because I had to do a 45 minute drive since where I live there are no nail salons open. I sat in my pedicure chair for 50 minutes while they all worked on other clients. I decided to walk out and go to PG nails instead. I understand they are low in staff but if I wanted to wait that long for a service I wouldn't have made an appointment and just walked in. Went in at 6, a little late but they kindly took me in. Wasn't busy but only had 3 staff members around this time so don't expect 3-4 people coming in an hour before they close to get serviced. I had a grandpa type man do my pedicure. He did an okay job. Could my paint job have been better? Yes but other than that he did everything else fine and knew what I wanted and what I didn't want. Would I recommend this to someone? Yes Would I come back? Yes Basic pedicure- $22 it's a great price from what I paid elsewhere. For the price and service it's a win. Although my nails don't look bad via picture, I can see the flaws in person. I do love them, but this isn't the first time I've gotten my nails done so I know what to expect. First, the salon has a very strong smell of I'm guessing a combination of things such as nail polish/nail polish remover, etc. that I left with a headache.(I researched so many places before going to this one & I really couldn't find a really good place so I basically settled.)Second, the man who did my nails seemed like he was in a rush when no one was there. I went in on a Tuesday to specifically make sure the person I got would do my nails correctly & in a timely manner. Even then, nail techs should do your nails correctly no matter what because that's what you're paying for. My nails are uneven & disfigured if you compare one hand to the other. He was also pushing my cuticles back with his own nails instead of using a tool & it hurt. He was doing the process way too quickly, not paying attention to detail, & not being gentle whatsoever. He wasn't even really talking so if he needed my hand he'd kind of just point or reach out & grab. At the end he tried making conversation, but my husband & I were not having it. Last, but not least, I asked for almond shape. When cutting my nails he asked if I wanted oval & I said no, almond so it's not like I didn't try to correct him. At the end I just didn't want to argue with the man because my husband was there. I don't mind the shape, but that's not what I asked for. He charged $50 where elsewhere I probably would have paid more. I like my nails, but next time I'm going somewhere else. I'd rather pay a little more for the nails to be neater with nicer nail techs. read more

This rating is based on my first experience at Sexy Nails. I went on a Friday afternoon and the place was packed. I took that as a good sign, evidently they have customer loyalty. I waited about 15 minutes, not too bad considering it was the beginning of the weekend. My only compliant about that is I didn't have anywhere to sit but that's because half the seats were occupied by small children. (Which btw, what is that about?! Leave your kids at home. It's selfish as a parent to expect them to behave while they wait 2+ hours for you to pamper yourself. And it annoys others around you when they start screaming and crying because they are cranky.) Back to the point.... The service was good. There are lots of colors to choose from. The nail tech who helped me was friendly and listened to what I wanted. As I looked around I noticed most of the customers were having some kind of trendy design/details added to their nails, all of which looked nice. My pedicure was good too. Thorough job overall, I will be back. Oh, also the price was very reasonable. For an almond shaped full set, with rhinestones on ring fingers, and gel top coat, along with a deluxe pedicure I only paid $65. If they offered water or wine that would be even better, but for Yuma-hey I'll take it! Next time I'll come at a slower time though, as I am not a fan of crowds. read more

I was here from California for the weekend I just have just waited.. the lady that did my nails was a completely arrogant even after I was complementing her work.. she ended up messing up my nails the bottom of the nail was full of unnecessary acrylic . If your just going for a one time only I don't recommend this place . I almost felt hostile I hate to use the word bitch , but that is literally how she was acting. I believe the husband also works there and they have a kid that hangs out there .. Please avoid this place and look for a place with at-least better service . This review is based on my two experiences. I got shellac both times. I don't know the names of the manicurists, but the first time, the young man reminded me of Rufio from the movie Hook. And he did a wonderful job! He chatted with me a little bit, was quick and professional. The second time, I wasn't pleased with how the shellac turned out. And the manicurist that time didn't even say hi, just told me to have a seat and what color. Which is fine, we don't need to have a conversation but I still want my nails to look nice. It kind of felt like they just wanted to do my nails and get to the next person. I get it, it's a business and you want to make money, but part of a business is customer service too. My friends get their acrylics done here and absolutely love it. So maybe they just specialize more in acrylics than in shellac. read more

First two times turned out just fine then this last time the guy who wears the black hat filled my nails all the way to look like duck bills. They look so bad! I came to Sexy nails for the first time with a friend.I will never come here again! I am very disappointed with the lady who did my pedi. First she cut the side of my big toe she washed it off with water and continued to dig the cutters into the side of my nail. I sat through the pain because I didn't want to say anything until I couldn't handle it anymore and I moved my foot away out of reaction and told her it hurt she moves on to my other foot. After that she comes back to the one that's already hurting and cuts a part of the side nail from my big toe. She also cut my nails way too short on the big toe. Fast forward a few hours later im at home and it starts hurting every time I put pressure on it. I wake up the next morning and my toe is purple and swollen. I let like 4 days pass thinking the swelling will go down with cleaning it daily but it later just turns red and it's very painful to step on. I make a appt with my dr and I had to see a podiatrist and he told me the nail salon has caused a infection and nail was cut wrong so it caused a ingrown(btw i never I'm my life had had ingrown nails it was caused by this place )I had to Get toe nail surgery to remove the ingrown she gave me and then I had to get a antibiotic with a shot to remove the infection. If I had to rate my pain the pedicure it hurt just as bad as my surgery!Long story short I'm not coming her especially if Tammy or Traci I forgot her name does my feet, the lady who did my friends nails was not as rough with her as the lady who did mine. Very sad not coming back I had good hopes for this place and was happy to try out but instead I had to get surgery and antibiotics out of it read more

First off, the best nail salon in Yuma. Once you walk in you get greeted and the also give you a complimentary water. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Whenever I get my (acrylic) nails done here, they last up to 3-4 weeks! If you find a nail design you like off of the the Internet they can do the exact same design. Chrome, ombré, matte, you name it! They take their time and make sure you're satisfied. I've been to couple of nail salons and none of them compare to Sexy Nails. Pedicures are reasonable priced. A standard pedicure is about 26 dollars. Also they end with a nice hot towel with a great foot massage. Many people come here for the good reputation and their skills. I'm very disappointed in the service, I used to come here all the time and their work was always amazing. But I recently went again after maybe a year of not getting my nails done (I only get the shelac gel) it usually lasted up to 3 weeks which was amazing! Unfortunately this time it didn't even last two weeks before it started peeling off. Also the price was bumped up I used to be charged $18 for the service and this time it was $27 for just the gel no manicure or anything, usually thay would even be olay if the shelac had lasted longer than maybe a week at best. read more
