It's decorated nicely and feels welcoming. The employee was kind and friendly. This is definitely a quilter's shop, not a fabric shop. I was looking for fabric for a non quilt project and didn't really find exactly what I wanted. If you're a quilter I think you'll love it. They have Cosmos embroidery floss which is a nice touch.

Whenever I visit Runs With Scissors or attend one of their classes, I feel welcomed and comfortable. The atmosphere has always been upbeat, healthy, and welcoming. It's like a thrift store for crafts. Most items are used and in good condition. We saw all kinds of yarn, wood, stamps, sewing supplies, and even birthday and Christmas items. Everything has is in it's own section but does take some time to look around, if you want something specific. As for the crafting area, it cost about $8 for 1 hour of crafting. They had tons of recycled items available for crafting. It did take us a bit to look around and decide on something to create. But once we did, we found lots of things to use. They did have glue guns to use but I didn't see paints, or sharp things for cutting. They also offer birthday parties in their crafting area. ReCreate is a crafters dream but an organizers fever dream. It can be a little hard to look but it's best to just take your time and enjoy the walk around.

Tons of beautiful fabric!…read more Decided to treat myself to a project after doing some care taking for my mom. Map app it and found it was out by the airport. Maps took me what I guess was "close enough," but I was in the middle of the road. Looking around I saw a quilt flapping in the breeze. SMART! Didn't have a particular project in mind, but I have been wanting to make some more colorful tote bags. Super nice employee found me a pattern. It took 6 fat quarters and I found a beautiful prerolled sample of those.

I was in the shop a few weeks ago with an entire tribe of family while visiting for a funeral. I brought a quilt top with me that I had just finished. It is108" x 95" so I needed 10 yards+-. When we (all adults)came thru the door we were not sure they were even open because not a single one of us were greeted. After we wondered our way thru to the back of the store we realized there was in fact someone at the cutting counter, she never looked up from her cutting tasks. After we found a couple of options we inquired if there were any additional bolts in stock so that we could get our 10 yds, without hesitation, the answer was a hard NO. At that time, a colleague apeared from the office and reinforced the NO. I then inquired about ordering a bolt and I'm not sure I was even answered. I was so disappointed because they had such a wonderful selection. After leaving, we all collectively agreed that the customer service was one of the worst any of us had experienced and were glad that our money was not spent there. I'm guessing the shop does the majority of their business thru mail orders and get very little walk in business so customer service or interaction is just something they don't feel at all interested in. I hope this was just a situation of it being a bad day for the 2 ladies that were there and they normally find themselves to be friendlier, kinder and more helpful. Unfortunately a brick and mortar store will lose a sale.

There are loads of samples, which is so inspiring. And then there are the ladies who work there...absolutely fantastic!! My friend and I found a sample quilt that we fell in love with. There was not a kit for that particular quilt, but the ladies cut one for us while we shopped around the store. They were gracious and fun to visit with. I would absolutely visit this store again and absolutely recommend it to all my quilter friends!
