When I travel for business, I try to carve out an hour or two if I can, and look up the nearest fabric store on Yelp. So I was happy last week when I noticed World Class Textile pop up in my search. I had just over an hour to spare, so I zipped over there. Little did I know how monstrous this store is! It's not one, but TWO giant rooms stacked literally floor to ceiling with fabric. Most of which is on a roll (though some are folded). It's mostly upholstery fabric and apparel fabric here, although they also had pretty much everything else you could want, too. The trick is you need to have time to do some major digging and shuffling around of the rolls to find what you want. But it's probably in there...somewhere! Luckily, the rolls are well-organized by fabric type, and many are even hanging on wall racks. Besides fabric, they also sell thread, zippers, trim, and a few other accessories - though if you're looking for specific notions this is probably not the place to find them. Very few items are priced, so you will have to ask one of the helpful employees who roam the store. To be honest, as a first time visitor, this place was a bit intimidating. After looking around, I decided I might just get their website name and buy online when I got home. I asked, and they don't do online sales. So I skedaddled back to the vinyl section and grabbed some yardage ($10/yd!) of a few prints I'll try out for bag-making. What this store lacks in charm it definitely makes up for in selection. If you're making bridal or formal wear projects, or doing some home decor, this should be your very first stop on your fabric buying journey. read more

My daughter and I discovered this store when we both purchased a Cricut machine. That drove us into cards and then followed to Scrapbooking. When we discovered graphic 45 papers and cards we became obsessed with crafting with paper. So beautiful. We have now been creating using graphic 45 for around ten years. Yes, it's more expensive when you use g45 papers BUT. so worth it. Better quality, beautiful designs and it even smells good! The store is set up to craft right there and the company with the owner is delightful. read more

Selection and prices are very good. Nothing is priced, which is a bit frustrating, and you literally have to either find an employee and ask the price for every fabric you might like, or have an employee following you around the store as you browse to tell you the price. That annoyance aside, the selection of apparel, upholstery and crafting materials is really good, and most of the prices for the full sized bolts of fabric is worth the visit. If I have a favorite fabric store, this would be it. We've been here several times and the projects I've stated (don't always finish) we're destined to be fabulous becoming of the fabric. I have purchased silk shantung and mad a beautiful skirt. I bought upholstery for recovering a loveseat that was a project way out of my league and I have purchased beautiful silk and embroidered fancy fabric that became a baptismal gown. The baptismal gown won 2nd place at the CA State Fair. So when I could find what I needed at my local Joann store, we headed here, about 40 minutes from home. I found 3 out of the 4 fabrics I need to make a Frodo Baggins costume. The easiest part of making the costume was finding the fabric. I love this store and couldn't imagine sewing without access to their inventory and the amazing prices they offer. Thank you! read more

My daughter is taking a sewing class and was required to look for sweatshirting fabric for her next project. We went to Jo-Ann's. The elderly lady that cuts the fabric gave me the death stare when I asked for directions to locate this fabric. Rude! Hobby lobby does not have very many options but THIS place has everything you need. There is a vast amount of choices in fabric. The prices are much better than Jo-ann's and Hobby Lobby. Now I can ONLY review partially because I just went in to see if they had what I was looking for. That's to say the least, it's soooo much fabric in this store I didn't know where to start. I went in looking for rainbow fabric for an upcoming trip to Costa Rica and I'm having a swimsuit made. Maybe 5 minutes into looking around in a guy (may have been the owner) asked if I needed help, I told him I was just looking and he responded with "let me know I'll help you". I didn't ask the cost of anything but definitely will go back there to get what I was looking for. When I entered the shop after a long drive, I was greeted by a young man. He asked me what I was looking for, and I showed him a piece of woven fabric from my sewing class that I needed help finding more of the shop was huge at least three other sections. I am so glad he came up to me I've been to many other fabric shops and most disappointed. But when I showed the fabric to him, he felt and inspected the fabric and immediately took me to the right area. There was so many types of woven fabric. I checked the fabric myself. It looked really good with the crisscross pattern the texture I love it!. Coming back here again. The area was definitely ghetto. The parking was in a alleyway and I just watched a whole gang come out to meet in one alleyway. I don't know, but they seem harmless as long as you dont stare at them lol read more

I decided to make my own linen cotton lined curtains so I was in the hunt for 25 yards of linen at a reasonable price. WCT was a gold mine. There is a ton of all different kinds of fabrics here. If you are looking to do any project, this is the place. It felt family owned and run so I was happy to support a local business that clearly had a vision to stock a wide assortment of material. The customer service was great too. They had plenty of 100% linen in stock- which isn't always the case at stores. Although I left Sacramento a little over a year ago, whenever I get the chance to go back for work or leisure, I try to stop by and stock up on some basic fabrics. In particular I have come to appreciate their linen stock, which is an incredible deal at around $6/yard. They stock a wide variety of fabrics, from heavy duty upholstery to natural fiber to prints. I needed some fabric to make some curtains for my office so I figured I'd check out some spots in my local area...pulled up yelp and saw this spot pretty close to my house... I've driven by this spot literally hundreds of times and never realized It was a fabric store...let alone open for business. They have a huge selection and even though I wasn't in the market for anything beyond curtains...the sheer variety had me thinking of what else I should make. Cheap junk.. I spent over 160$ for fabric I can't even use. It falls apart when I try to manipulate or tuck in places. All fibers come off. Yes it is CHEAP prices but u are also getting CHEAP low quality fabric. Do not use this junk to upholster. I bought the fabric and I can't use any of it for my couch. Low life scum bags won't refund any money either. Make sure when u buy it, it's exactly what u really want. It might "look" pretty but it is awful. I will never go back. Hole in the wall graffiti all around. U got Fanilies that come in here running all around. One of the guys working here YELLED at my husband for using the bathroom so....it's NOT ok to use bathroom but it IS ok to met your kids run wild. Would never come read more
