Cali Quilt Co is a beautiful Five Star Sewing & Quilting store in Roseville, CA. As you walk through the doors you will feel so happy. I sure did! The store is filled with beautiful fabrics, lots of sewing, quilting & embroidery machines, a wall of minke, rows of threads and a very cool button area. I came in to see one of the owners, Joe Singer, who showed me how to work my new Little Rebel baby long arm machine, that I bought at the Reno Quilt Show in June 2026. This was a fantastic Five Star customer service experience because he really took time in teaching me about my new machine. I don't feel scared now to go back to Reno, and turn it on and start to try it out. I have never owned a long arm but you have to try new things to learn new things. I did get to stitch out a doggie paw and some cool circles patterns. I also bought the most beautiful cork fabric with gold sparkles...pricey but worth it. Also, I bought minke hot wheels fabric that I will make into a blanket for my little grandson. He loves hot wheels. Also, Cali Quilt Co has just expanded to another area next to their store, and they will be holding classes and quilt retreats very soon..I can't wait! I am a beginning sewer & quilter, and I purchased this really adorable quilt of the month block. It looks like a watering can, but it is a house....what? I also chose a very cool flower button from their button area, to add to my finished design as the door knob of my little watering can house. I am so excited to see if I can complete this block of the month. They have already made 3 of the many cool house blocks for this cute house quilt. Go check it out. Again, thank you to the great staff for cutting my fabric and helping me with my new discount card. I have already earned 5 stars. Yea! I wish had the pleasure to met Yavya, the other owner, but I just missed her. Next time! Cali Quilt Co is opened from 9:00 to 7:00 pm except Sundays I think. Wow! I wish they would expand to Reno. If you are wanting to learn to sew, quilt or take some cool classes, I suggest you check out this beautiful five star fabric and quilting store. I truly felt happy when I walked in and felt happier with all of my new fabrics and quilt block pattern & little button, when I walked out. It was worth the 2 hour drive to see this store. See you all again soon. Julie A read more

Terrific service, selection and knowledgeable team. Check out the classes and new makers space.

VERY disappointed with the new location which, generously, is less than 25% the size of the old location. When I said I was disappointed in the size, the employee recommended I look at their website to have a cut of fabric sent to the store or my house. I'm old school... I prefer to touch the fabric before I buy it. That's getting to be very difficult. read more

Very clean and super nice staff! They are all very knowledgeable! They had so many fabrics I have never seen! Absolutely will be back!

When Cali Quilt Co was in Rancho Cordova it was a favorite of mine and then it relocated to Roseville. Not as warm & welcoming but I can live with that. Extremely poor customer service is a big NO for me. I was in and bought Steam A Seam 2 from them. When doing the 1st step, tracing, the layers separated, meaning I had 3 layers rather than the single layer that should have been there. I called Cali Quilt Co and Joe answered. I explained my problem to him and he referred me to a sales associate. She couldn't answer anything and referred me back to Joe, the store owner. Joe couldn't be found and I left him a msg to call me. That was on a Thursday morning. The following Thurday with no call from Joe, I went back to ask for a refund. I was told I would have to come back when a manager was there. I answered this was unacceptable. She repeated I would have to come back and I repeated this was unacceptable. The sales clerk then sent her manager a text. The manager's reply was to test the product I had brought back. The clerk started an iron & I told her I hadn't gotten that far in the process and her reply was she had to do what her manager told her. At this point my husband came in from the car. He asked what was going on and both the clerk and I told him. He stayed with the clerk and I sat down. Just as I sat down my husband said he was not listening to that and the clerk said "You will listen to me ", shaking her index finger in his face. At that point my husband turned around and started walking to the door. The other clerk said they had store cameras and she saw it all, that my husband had been in the other clerk's face. So sad that this clerk didn't try to defuse the situation but rather stir the pot with additional poor customer service. All of this over 2 yards of Steam A Seam 2!!!!!! read more

I wasn't sure a quilting shop would have basic sewing supplies for a baby crafter like myself, but Cali Quilt Co. delivered. They have a little of everything, but also a massive selection of fabrics and quilting supplies. This also seems to be the place to go should you be interested in a new craft project and would like to interact with friendly crafty folks who are as knowledgeable as they are personable. The shelves are peppered with adorable stuffed animal samples, which maybe one day I would be interested in trying to make. Stuffies are a weakness of mine. As for me, I did know how to do basic sewing at one time. Mama tried. But it has literally been decades and my supplies have been depleted. I was on the hunt for thread, sewing needles, a pin cushion, possibly a needle threader, and push pins. Cali Quilt Co. had them all, and then some. When I eyed these adorable unicorn pins, Emily told me she had even better ones and whisked off to find them for me. She returned with KITTY pins!!! See picture below. She's brilliant, that Emily. She also had tips on what color and type of thread to use to sew patches on a denim battle vest. Because I sure as heck had no clue. And sometimes a real life expert you can talk to in person is better than randos on youtube. The folks who work here were all very nice and helpful. My visit was pleasant, and checking out took no time at all once I had everything I needed and had managed to resist anything I did not need. (The snacks and wine table was tempting and so were the sparkly purple scissors.) The store is clean and bright, and stuffed wall to wall with fabrics, but very neatly. It was no trouble to find what I came for, and I will return for sure. Big thanks for the nice welcome and helpful advice. I know I can trust Cali Quilt Co. for future endeavors and don't need to feel intimidated when I shop here. This is a place for no0bs and seasoned quilters alike, and I dig that. read more

I learned the hard way today that purchasing less than 1 yard of fabric costs the consumer more than the per yard price on the bolt of fabric. Today I purchased 1/3 yard of fabric. Instead of the $12.99 per yard price x 1/3, I paid $5.25 for 1/3 yard. Doing the math, that is .92 more. When I asked, the cashier provided no explanation. Later I called the store to inquire about the excess charge or error. It was neither of those to my surprise. This business charges to "cut" the piece of fabric for cuts smaller than a yard. When I replied that the fabric has to be cut anyway whether it is a 1 yard or 1/3 of a yard, the reply was "extra labor cost"! What?! What extra labor cost?! Never will I purchase fabric or anything else there again. Totally unbelievable! read more

If you are a quilter, machine embroiderier or love to sew with good quality minky don't miss this beautiful store. They have an amazing selection on Luxe Cuddle fabric in the store and even more in the back. If you don't see what you are looking for ask. They are so helpful, but staff don't hover or pressure you to buy. They have so much great inventory all organized in a clean and welcoming, organized manner. Lots of fabulous quilting cotton, patterns, byAnnie zippers and mesh, quality sewing notions. Also all things Kimberbell and OESD. They sell and service Elna machines too, but no pressure sales tactics They offer lots of classes in store and online too and the owner posts tutorials online to help too. I live over 600 miles away but can't wait to go back and am grateful they also sell online too. @caliquiltco.com. My budget may not be so happy! Their prices are great but it is all so wonderful I want to take it all home! Customer service is also top notch. If you have any problems give the owner a chance to address it. She truly cares! read more

This store is amazing! I've been in 3-4 times now (and never remember to take photos) but it's much larger inside than it looks on the outside. If you love modern prints this is the place for you. They have so many fun fabrics and an enormous selection of children's prints including general things like fairytale castles to superhero's, movies (like toy story) and books such as the hungry caterpillar. Each area is themed so it's easy if your looking for a particular kind of fabric like polka dots or dinosaurs and they typically have a ton of fat quarters already cut. Oh my minky! They carry Shannon minky which is definitely the best and it's by far the largest in person selection I've ever seen. They also have classes and lots of kits. It's a fantastic place to take your pre-teens and teens to teach them to sew! read more

Top Notch! I stopped by this afternoon looking for some special fabric to back a pair of needlepoint stockings. They had loads of fabrics, which overwhelmed me a bit. One employee helped me find the perfect fabrics and had some great suggestions on how to emphasize a special element on the back of each stocking. Delighted and excited when I came upon Cali Quilt Co on ETSY while searching for Kaffe Fassett fabrics to purchase! Joyful to discover there is a Quilting fabric store just about a 15 minute drive from my work place in Folsom that sold Kaffe Fassett Fabric. During the past few months I have now visited the Cali Quilt Co 3 times and also have placed 2 on line orders through ETSY. Fast speedy delivery which is truly appreciated and the in store selection of overall fabric and supplies is very worthy of your time! There is always a friendly and welcome energy when I walk through the doors and all of the beautiful fabric and supplies are a sight to behold! There are gorgeous quilted blankets to view and admire hanging on the walls and a generous beautiful selection of fabric and supplies to browse through for purchasing. Ample parking lot that is spacious as well! On their Facebook page Tayva also creates live video instructions for various funtastic projects! I discovered the fabric balloon ball tutorial a few weeks ago and during my last visit to the store I was able to purchase the template for the fabric balloon ball which are surely going to make funtastic welcome gifts during the holidays and year round too! read more

Fabric selection is great. But don't bother taking a "class" from this operation. Twice now I have had to walk out after being mislead about the topic. The classes are a front for marketing Elna Sewing machines. They spend a disproportionate amount time having you perform tasks on the fancy new machines (that they sell) that have nothing to do with the topic. Then, you move on to some dumb straight sewing for a long time which again, has nothing to do with the topic. Instructors should ensure that machines are set up with the proper equipment (throat plate, bobbin, and thread loaded) right from the start. They waste so much time on this "touch and play with our fabulous machines for sale" portion that there is very little time to actually learn anything else. Having a potential customer touch and use a product for sale is a well-known marketing tool. Fool me once, OK, fool me twice? I'm gone. read more
