It's decorated nicely and feels welcoming. The employee was kind and friendly. This is definitely a quilter's shop, not a fabric shop. I was looking for fabric for a non quilt project and didn't really find exactly what I wanted. If you're a quilter I think you'll love it. They have Cosmos embroidery floss which is a nice touch.

The shop, as well as the classroom, is clean, well organized and stocked with anything I've needed and the cost of products has been comparable or less than Amazon or other fabric stores. Whenever I visit Runs With Scissors or attend one of their classes, I feel welcomed and comfortable. The atmosphere has always been upbeat, healthy, and welcoming. I plan to continue to make new friends, take many more classes and shop at Runs With Scissors.

Michaels is what I would categorize a "big box" store. Therefore, helpful and approachable are not words one typically associates with these kind of stores. So big thank you all for that! My reason for the visit was to find pens with red and green ink and with a thicker point. Not a fine point. I was going to be addressing Christmas cards and wanted a festive look. Believe it or not I had been to many stores, and even Amazon... with no luck. Several other retailers had suggested Michaels. Well, they were right. One of those helpful employees personally walked me to the section with writing implements. And, voilà, there they were. Yay! There were quite a few pens from which to choose. And it was a BOGO half off. My lucky day. Check out was fast. Even though a real salesperson helped me, I noticed quite a few self check out kiosks. And customers were using them. So the long lines moved quickly. In summary, this is a clean and organized store with great employees who are willing to assist shoppers. There appeared to be a lot of inventory including lots of Christmas decorations at very reasonable prices. There is a huge parking lot. So all the boxes are checked. I Absolutely, 100 percent, recommend Michaels for your shopping needs.

The store is filled with beautiful fabrics, lots of sewing, quilting & embroidery machines, a wall of minke, rows of threads and a very cool button area. I came in to see one of the owners, Joe Singer, who showed me how to work my new Little Rebel baby long arm machine, that I bought at the Reno Quilt Show in June 2026. This was a fantastic Five Star customer service experience because he really took time in teaching me about my new machine. I don't feel scared now to go back to Reno, and turn it on and start to try it out. I have never owned a long arm but you have to try new things to learn new things. I did get to stitch out a doggie paw and some cool circles patterns. I also bought the most beautiful cork fabric with gold sparkles...pricey but worth it. Also, I bought minke hot wheels fabric that I will make into a blanket for my little grandson. He loves hot wheels. Also, Cali Quilt Co has just expanded to another area next to their store, and they will be holding classes and quilt retreats very soon..I can't wait! I am a beginning sewer & quilter, and I purchased this really adorable quilt of the month block. It looks like a watering can, but it is a house....what? I also chose a very cool flower button from their button area, to add to my finished design as the door knob of my little watering can house. I am so excited to see if I can complete this block of the month. They have already made 3 of the many cool house blocks for this cute house quilt. Go check it out. I've actually driven past this store many times, but I've not had the opportunity or reason to stop in. But recently, I had a project and needed some specialty fabric. After calling several stores, I decided to stop by this one first. It's easy to get here, it's in Little Saigon, just off of Stockton and 47th/Elder Creek. Plenty of parking in a private lot with a few other stores in the plaza. We came on a mid-morning on a holiday Monday. There were just one set of customers checking out as we got here. I asked for the fabric from the boss lady who was measuring out fabric and she quickly asked a few questions and then led me to look at what they have and told me the price and after I agreed, she cut off the appropriate length and directed me to the front of the store to pay. Note that if you are buying less than $10 worth of merchandise, you might want to bring cash unless you don't mind getting charge a 50c credit card surcharge. The owner rang up my purchase and then we were on our way. The owner was pretty nice, he explained that he's who the store is named after and he's owned it for decades. They also speak Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin both) and Vietnamese, but their English was just fine too. In addition to tons of different kinds of fabric, they also sell "bling" you can add on like laces, jewels, special trims, and they have tons of buttons and zippers to choose from too. Overall, a great store to shop in for your fabric needs and I'm glad to shop and support a mom & pop local store.

Maps took me what I guess was "close enough," but I was in the middle of the road. Looking around I saw a quilt flapping in the breeze. SMART! Didn't have a particular project in mind, but I have been wanting to make some more colorful tote bags. Super nice employee found me a pattern. It took 6 fat quarters and I found a beautiful prerolled sample of those.

I was in the shop a few weeks ago with an entire tribe of family while visiting for a funeral. I brought a quilt top with me that I had just finished. It is108" x 95" so I needed 10 yards+-. When we (all adults)came thru the door we were not sure they were even open because not a single one of us were greeted. After we wondered our way thru to the back of the store we realized there was in fact someone at the cutting counter, she never looked up from her cutting tasks. After we found a couple of options we inquired if there were any additional bolts in stock so that we could get our 10 yds, without hesitation, the answer was a hard NO. At that time, a colleague apeared from the office and reinforced the NO. I then inquired about ordering a bolt and I'm not sure I was even answered. I was so disappointed because they had such a wonderful selection. After leaving, we all collectively agreed that the customer service was one of the worst any of us had experienced and were glad that our money was not spent there. I'm guessing the shop does the majority of their business thru mail orders and get very little walk in business so customer service or interaction is just something they don't feel at all interested in. I hope this was just a situation of it being a bad day for the 2 ladies that were there and they normally find themselves to be friendlier, kinder and more helpful. Unfortunately a brick and mortar store will lose a sale.
