    I wanted to reupholster my 30 year old favorite chair but had several very expensive estimates until I found Cut-Yardage, who provided me with a very reasonable estimate. They have a gazillion fabrics to choose from. The end result was stunning! I'm so happy with the chair and ottoman! Would 100% recommend and will definitely use them on my next project!

    I usually don't leave feedback as I usually am lenient and overlook a few issues that may occur with businesses trying to deliver services, however in this situation, I felt compelled to write a review as I had a very unpleasant experience. From the beginning, I started noticing issues in terms of notifying us on the status. We had to call multiple times to keep them on track in terms of them receiving the material (as it was back ordered) and scheduling pickup. Round 1: When I received the couch with the updated cushion covers, the covers were fitted over the old cushion covers instead of replacing them. They were not fitted well and when I called to explain the situation, I was told that this is how it is done. The response kept me wondering as to how someone can fit a new slipcover over an old slipcover. It seemed that you are wearing your new clothes while having your old clothes on. We had to drop off the cushions (driving 25-30 mins) to get it fixed, even though pickup and delivery were included in the contract. Round 2: Upon dropping off the cushions to have them fixed, we requested that the slipcovers be restitched/adjusted to properly fit the cushions without the old slipcovers, they overlooked our request and fixed the issue by adding extra padding to the cushion without our consent. The cushion bases were sliced open to add the extra padding which were not sewed back, ruining the original look, and did not fit the couch frame which now was sticking out at least 3 inches. The addition of the extra padding made the cushions stiff and very uncomfortable. When we brought this issue to their notice, they mentioned that the padding was complementary which we did not request and they would charge an additional fee to remove the non-requested padding and fit the cushion covers to the original size, which was supposed to done at the first place. This felt that we had to pay for their mistakes. Round 3: Cut-yardage removed the non-requested padding and did some adjustments to fit the cushions but now the covers wrinkles up when someone sits on the couch (this was not the case with the old slipcovers). When asked by the delivery person as to why there were so many back-n-forth with cushions, I mentioned to him my experience of the grueling process I went through. Two hours later, Doug (the owner) shows up on our doorstep unannounced and started gaslighting about the situation. We felt harassed and intimidated by his approach. It just confirmed my plan to share my experience with Cut-yardage. As per Cut-yardage guarantee to "value every customer and stand behind our craftsmanship 100%", however, the whole experience felt that they did not consider their customer request and instead of trying to make it better, they tried to cut corners in fixing their error and tried to make an extra buck at the expenses of their customer dissatisfaction regarding their work. I apologize for the long review, but I wanted to share my worst experience working with Cut-yardage in detail. Please don't get fooled by the 'five' stars as this may be farmed. EDIT: It baffles me to accept that a couch would look loose when cushion covers are changed from a patterned fabric if it is stitched to the right dimensions. Since we don't belong to your domain of knowledge, a business who is serving customers for 25 years of business should know to take the time in understanding their customer requests rather than assume. We were never explained the outcome of our request properly and hence missed expectations. Yes, we were promised that Doug was going to drop the cushions covers but he did not show up. However, the covers were delivered by a delivery person and we were not informed that Doug could not make it to the delivery. We were disappointed to see the delivery guy show up rather than Doug when the covers were delivered. Later when Doug showed up and my husband opened the door, the first thing he said was 'Well I had to come because your wife said she was going to leave a sh**ty review (whereas what I mentioned was that I am planning to write about my experience) Also, Doug did not like me sharing my experience with his delivery person when his delivery person was nice enough to ask me, what went wrong as he had done multiple rounds for it. Doug said that "Well you can write whatever you want but just so you know that I'll write back". I don't know why he had to mention that? It felt intimidating and threatening. It makes me wonder and question the ratings as I have never had such an awful experience with any business/vendor. Being the best means to listen and understand your customers and deliver to their expectations, which in this case fell short even though multiple attempts to rectify the situation just added to more frustration and aggravation. The bottom line, it was ill-fitted with/without the existing covers.

    We purchased a beautiful Mid-Century Modern chair with ottoman many years ago. The chair is well over 50 years old and we decided it was time to get it reupholstered. We took the chair and ottoman to Cut Yardage and Zecaly took her time to assist us. We chose our fabric and a couple of months later the chair and ottoman were better than new. We chose a style that reflected the chair's origin. This was a complicated pattern and they were able to match the pattern, including lining up the stripes from piece to piece. The chair has a separate headrest, as well as arm protectors. Everything looks great! It wasn't inexpensive, by any measure, but we only paid $25 for the chair originally and this one nice chair.

    Photos of the roman shades i do not recommend getting the flat roman shades here as they have no supports to keep them tailored looking and some of them do not hang straight. I even measured window width top to bottom to be sure crookedness wasn't a window issue.

    I love my chairs. It's no wonder it took a bit for the work to be done, they do great work so it was very much worth the wait.

    Recovered and restored cushion!

    I got a nice oak rocker at a garage sale. It needed some work including the cushion needing to be completely refurbished. Cut-yardage did a great job for me. The staff was friendly and helpful and the choice of fabrics was so good I had trouble choosing. The workmanship was terrific! I highly recommend their services. And, I like that it is a California company and right here in Sacramento too!

    I had one of my grandmother's chairs reupholstered at Cut Yardage. They were very helping giving me ideas for fabric, and the chair turned out great! The only complaint is that it took four weeks longer than promised. I was not in a hurry for the chair so that really didn't matter to me.

    My husband and I chose Cut Yardage to reupholster 4 of our dining chairs. We went to them in December and they said they couldn't start on the chairs until the end of January. It was two weeks after when they called to pick up the chairs. I asked the lady on the phone when will we have them back and she said it will be another two or three weeks, or more. I got upset and asked to speak to the manager. Vanessa got on the phone and said they could have it done by the end of the week, so I was pleased. It had been a little over a week when we received a call the chairs were done and they would deliver. My husband went to their business to pay the remaining balance as they said we had to pay before they delivered the chairs. He took home two of the chairs while he was there. The ribbon on the chairs were loose at the top and their were gouges in the chair at the top. We could also see the staples in the chair which was tacky. My husband called to see what they could do about this situation. Vanessa asked if he could send her pictures of the damages and the loose robbon. She called back and said they would pick up the chairs and fix the ribbon issue. My husband asked for a discount for the damages. She mentioned no apologies, but that they were probably already there, which they were not as I have photos before the chairs were in their possession and we recently bought the dining set brand new. I looked on the positive side and texted her and said I was impressed with the turn around time and appreciate she got it done within the time frame I requested, and that I was willing to give her $100 for completing them in a shorter time, which she refused. She asked us to send back the two chairs to repair the ribbon. Now, I realized why she wanted us to send the chairs back as they were even more damages to the wood on the two chairs we sent back for the ribbon repair and damages to the other two they delivered.

I happened upon The Last Great one day and remembered my friend telling me about it. I went in and was looking all around and found some gorgeous blockprint/batik fabric from the 1970s. The owner told me it was out of her mother's collection, so I knew it was special. I left without buying anything that day, but couldn't stop thinking about that fabric. That's when you KNOW.
