I took my new sewing machine in to ABS Sewing for warranty repair 3 times over the course of almost a year, each time having to leave it for at least 3 weeks and each time being told by Zac there was nothing wrong with it. And yet each time within a few days of being used it would not be operating correctly. Frustrated, I took it to Village Sewing Center in Santa Rosa where they actually have professionally trained repair people, as well as a fabulous store for fabric, notions and machines. They had it fully functional within half an hour after beginning service the same day. This was on Sept 1st and today, Oct 23rd I'm still sewing happily with a great sewing machine. A great experience taking my older Pfaff 4.0 machine for a cleaning and tuneup. $139 for a computerized machine. They were exceptionally friendly and efficient. It was done in one week! Also, the shop is enormous and has a wonderful selection of fabric, notions, patterns, etc. Lots of sale fabric too. It was worth the drive from Sacramento. Highly recommended! Thank you! read more

The salesperson convinced me to buy a used sewing machine that was missing a part. He said he would get it for me from the previous owner. When I checked back, he said I had to pay $150 for the part, then later said it was never made for this machine. When I asked for an exchange or refund, they said they don't usually do that on a used machine. I'm stuck. $1000 for a machine with a tiny workspace to sew on. I ended up buying a custom made part for another $70 plus tax and shipping. I gave them an opportunity to make things right. I feel like I got the raw end of the deal. They should have done their homework before making the sale and been honest about their mistake. read more

I hadn't been here in over a year, but went to buy fabric for a baby quilt. Their prices are high! I prewashed the fabric and the white on white design is no longer visible. Another fabric I bought there with gold designs- they are gone now after washing and drying. Don't have any desire to return now. read more

I walked in with money to spend, really wanted to buy a Baby Lock Soprano. There wasn't one to try out, that was okay, the Lyric was close enough. However, none of the machines were turned on and help was hard to come by. Finally a young man let me try the the Lyric, but he didn't seem that interested in selling anything. It was nice to see the long arm quilters working on their quilts. The store seemed to have a nice fabric selection. After the lack of interest, went to Meissner's in Roseville and bought my Soprano! read more

Took my Singer Golden Touch and Sew sewing machine in for specific repair. Instead of saying they had no clue - tightened feed brackets and said "fixed". Took it back and after looking at it, they proclaimed "all fixed". Not even close. Took it to someone that wasn't trying to sell me a new machine and they replaced the feed bracket that cracked from over tightening, new feed dog, new bobbin case, tuned, oiled and cleaned machine and now works like new. Horrible service, arrogant grouch of an owned. I buy nothing here ever again! They DO NOT stand behind their work, nor do they care about customers. read more

Went in looking for a foot peday for an 80s Singer, thought it was a super strange electric interface, but after some back and forth, the guy inthe back figured out it was probably air pressure based. Got it hone, and now we have a working salvaged sewing machine! Very happy and thankful! read more

I really respect this business and its owner/employees. I turned my Dyson and handheld vacuum into ABS Vacuum Repair shop for repairs last Saturday, 31 Jan 15, because neither of the devices were functioning as well as they should. Within 3 days they called us back for pickup. They had figured out my Dyson was still under warranty and they didn't want to void the warranty by working on it. They explained to me what I needed to do to make the most of my warranty. Then they handed me the repaired handheld vacuum and, because it was only a clog, didn't charge me a dime. A very pleasant experience. My portable Brother machine stopped sewing properly, even though I regularly clean the lint out. Didn't have any idea why it wasn't working. Dropped it off to ABS and they said they would take a look at it. I barely just finished having lunch nearby, when I received a phone call from them telling me it was ready! Though the repair didn't take long, It required expertise and fine tuning which I couldn't have done myself. In addition, they charged so much less than I expected! Impressed by the friendly service and sense of integrity from this family-run business. The Quilt Shop there is also very nice, and I want to go back for the reasonably priced classes held there. read more

In response to Julian's comment which I just saw tonight, my sewing machine is not made of plastic, it is a lot better than the ones sold now. Also, I brought it to Vallejo sewing repair shop and he fixed it right and also changed the rotating wheel which was not broken/ cracked when I took it to your place the first time. read more

I looked online for weeks in search of a Janome sewing machine dealer where I could out the machine. I could not find any that were open for business during the Covid-19 store closures. I called my local sewing machine repair shop to take my Brother machine in for repair. Zach was knowledgeable about different makes and models of machines. Although they did not sell Janome machines I also had my eye on a Babylock machine. Zach waited patiently (at a safe social distance) and educated me on various makes and models while I test drove the sewing machines using some of my stretchy knit viscose jersey blend nightmarish polyester knits that I specifically needed to see how it would handle this fabric because its what I love! I was amazed and I was sold! The machine actually did more work than I did with that nightmare fabric lol, and Zach was just sitting there watching me be amazed...lol! I started out with my heart set on a Janome based on reviews of how "quiet" they were, which was my #1 deal-maker feature, the Babylock just stood out and had a nice smooth operation which was my #2 deal-maker feature. I have had 2 Brother machines which I purchased at a big box store and they left a lot to be desired, they are fine for beginners. Big box stores do not sell Babylock machines and I see why now. This is a better manufactured machine. I purchased the Babylock Jubilant when I dropped of my Brother for repair. I have been sewing primarily face masks for the last few weeks due to demand, but I cannot wait to finish my muslin and sew other garments. I love my new machine, and the repair on the old one only took a few days. I rely on this sewing machine repair business because they give good, affordable service (and I don't trust anyone else to repair my machine...lol!) so I felt that this would be the best place to buy a new machine from. They have a good range of new and trade-in sewing machines that they stand behind, a lot of fabrics and tools for sale, and offer many sewing classes for beginner to advanced learners. Colleen was very helpful when I came in twice to look at sewing machines, and I was lucky enough to end up with a used Pfaff within my modest budget. She gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it, and shared in my excitement for my newfound sewing interest. So happy to have ABS nearby, knowing I can come to them whenever I need professional help/advice. My Viking sewing machine jammed in the middle of a big project with a deadline. The folks at ABS gave it a complete tune up, cleaning and service in under 48 business hours. Zac was the service technician and he did a great job. The machine is running well with even stitches and tension and I'm back on track with my project.
