Deb had the fabric sample books set out for us and allowed us to take them home to find ones we liked. We saw four patterns we liked and emailed her back to get pricing. We made our selection. We soon heard back that Deb was having trouble finding a supplier for the fabric. A bit later she contacted us again to say that our choice, as well as two of the others, was no longer available, so we went with the fourth choice. Then there was a delay in the manufacturer shipping the fabric. Once it arrived we had Deb and her crew sew the ends to match the original fabric pattern to fit into the chair frames. Deb drove the fabric out to Chico to rush the sewing since it had been almost two months since we had placed the order. Apparently there isn't much demand to recover sling chairs. I guess most people just replace them. This must have been very frustrating for Deb and Davis Upholstery. We are now happy that the chairs are useful again.

For people like us The Last Great isn't just a fabric store, it's a source of INSPIRATION and somewhere you could spend HOURS looking at all the beautiful stuff there is to see. Places like this make me wish I had endless resources, mainly TIME, because we all know how time consuming sewing is! I happened upon The Last Great one day and remembered my friend telling me about it. I went in and was looking all around and found some gorgeous blockprint/batik fabric from the 1970s. The owner told me it was out of her mother's collection, so I knew it was special. I left without buying anything that day, but couldn't stop thinking about that fabric. That's when you KNOW. So I returned a couple days later and bought some. If you're a textiles nut like me, you're gonna love this place! Go. Check it out. Get inspired!! Create!! THIRTEEN STARS!!

LOCATION & DECOR: In Arden arcade attached it to a little strip mall shopping center. Fabrics from floor to ceiling was the decor. A little bigger than it appears on the outside. FABRICS: -Chiffon -Silk/satin -Spandex -Cotton -Linen -Wool PRICE: $-$$ -Chiffon $2 Per Yard -Silk $2 Per Yard STAFF & EXPERIENCE: This is a fabric store so you buy it by the yard. There was one gentleman there who I believe owns the shop. Super kind and a really fast worker. We walked in and were greeted by him as he worked with other customers. There feels like there are hundreds of fabrics to choose from. Different colors and textures and materials. We found a bunch of beautiful fabrics to use for an altar project. We weren't able to pick up everything we needed in one day because we needed input, but we were able to set some things off to the side and pick them up the next day. I'll definitely be visiting here again for the selection. It's kind of tight in there so it can be hard to move and the fabrics aren't the most orderly, but you can find what you're looking for if you have some time.

But if you want all kinds of fabric this is the place to be.

I thought it was so cool that I got to go behind the counter and pick frame options off the wall - they really have everything you could ever need! We found a matte and frame that worked well with my other degree, which I brought for reference. The whole thing was under $300, which was very reasonable for what I ordered! They also gave me a discount for being a first-time customer and they also offer teacher discounts! The framing was estimated to take 6 weeks, which was a little long. However, the wait is worth it, as they custom-order and shape the frame to your needs. My order was finished in a little less than that timeline, which I appreciated. They also gave me hanging advice and tips for where it would look best. I love how it turned out and will definitely be back when I next have something special to commemorate!
