One of my sisters immediately said she wanted to go in there after lunch so we did just that. The whole store was decorated top to bottom in fall and Halloween items. Everyone in my family found a couple of things to purchase. My only callouts would be that it would be nice if they cared some local things or at least called out what in the store was from local vendors. The second was that the lady employee definitely was watching us the whole time (and without even a greeting). Perhaps they have a lot of theft but was a bit uncomfortable

The shop keeper was at the register, maybe doing some paperwork. She was occupied and very quiet. Her store was very cute and I spent a lot of time looking at the earrings. I was trying to see if there was something I couldn't live without. I believe they were sterling silver and all around $18 each. There were bars of soap for men and women, earrings, candles... the kitchen towels with the clever sayings had me cracking up. I had to get one! After looking around the shop, I got to say hello and speak with the shop keeper. She was very sweet and pleasant. I liked that I was able to do a mobile payment. It made checking out fast & easy! On the weekends or during Downtown events, parking can be nearly impossible, but there is a small parking lot around the corner. I could easily spend the day out here going inside of every shop and picking at least one place to eat. There is plenty of popular eateries to choose from... that will leave you making the difficult decision of trying to pick where to eat!

Sunday, May 17th, I found myself in downtown Auburn, after visiting old town"s vintage and antique pop-up. I walked into the store and thought-wow great merchandising! I walked around for a bit and thought what a great store. It did not seem that there were any employees there. I walked the length of the store (about 5 minutes) and found that there was a young woman at the counter. This person did not greet me, or acknowledge me in any way. They saw me, and obviously heard the click of my boots on the tile floor, they then looked me and went back to clipping their toenails(?) I asked if this was their store. They said "What?" I repeated my question, and they said "no." and I said "It shows because you did not welcome your customers." And she proceeded to say "You are welcome to leave!" And I did. There were three things I would've purchased, (their prices are pretty good), but not on that day and not with that person behind the cash register. I spoke to another shop owner in town and they mentioned that they were saddened by my interaction because apparently the owner is a very customer friendly person. I'll pop in on a day when they are there.

It's on Lincoln Street in the heart of Downtown. Street parking or a lot up the hill. It's the cutest shop!! Think brick walls, and lots of character and built in shelves.... Treasures both old and new. A great collection of vintage pieces and vintage feeling pieces. I was happy they were in Fall mode instead of already having everything Christmas out. It was beautiful and warm for autumn. They have classes and I hope to take one. There was a selection of paper ephemera for crafting, home decor, fragrances and more. Definitely worth a visit. We were enticed by a sign that said, The Wreck, especially when we saw a bunch of cool stuff in front. At first we thought it was an artist's house, but then we realized it was a business. YIPEE! LETS GO CHECK IT OUT! We were greeted at the door, and invited to participate in a raffle, and then someone came around offering finger food. Cool we stumbled onto a party. SWEET! I was feeling a little bit like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, because there was soooo much cool stuff to look at and of course available for purchase. The thoughtful merchandising made it fun to explore. Lots of good stuff and reasonable prices. The staff is wonderful. The Wreck is a little bit off the beaten path. It is very close to old Town Auburn, still in town, but not right in historic old town. Lots of space to roam and visit with the great staff.

I wasn't sure what shop she meant, but when I started down the sidewalk and saw Wildflower, I knew this was the shop she had in mind. Lots of fun, cheerful decorations in the window. I was positive THIS was the shop. Probably more than anything else, Wildflower specializes in greeting cards. The owner explained that people come from miles around to check out their excellent selection. Naturally, they have a ton more gift items, including figurines as well as candles. My wife also likes the little crow figurines they have near the counter. So all-in-all, a pleasant place to visit. Really nice people with a fun selection of products. Uh oh, my wife just texted me that she needs more time. Oh well, back to the brewery.
