Martin Mattox is going out of business and having a 20-50% off everything must go sale. Walking in I realized why they may have closed because everything was insanely expensive. I ended up buying three tins of $14 seeds, thinking they were 50%, but not so. They were 20% off. Even at that price they were too much. The cashier is not currently giving out bags, or receipts, and while the service is helpful, it's fairly clear they're ready to be done with the space. All in all, if you're in the area definitely drop in to check out if there are any great items or deals left. read more

Such an awesome clothing, jewelry, hats and more store. Walked out with a great pair of refurbished Levi's shorts and a pink opal necklace I didn't know I needed. Highly recommend stopping in and supporting this small business read more

We came here to buy a diffuser that my husband smelled in the restroom of Pour Choice coffee shop.. we were the second people to come in today for the same reason... now that is good partner marketing! Unfortunately, they were sold out but we had a great time looking at the fun mixture of vintage and new clothing and home decor. The store is very well designed as you can see from the photos. My husband found a nice older charcoal painting he wanted for his music/man cave and I may go back for an antique California flag. If you are in Auburn, this store is worth stopping by. There is something for everyone. I would caution people with small children to keep an eye on them as there are a lot of cool things for them to pull on and drawers to open read more

I came here because I had a gift card my in laws gave me a few years back. It was awesome the owner honored it as it was a simple postcard with a signature. Unfortunately, there wasn't much for me here and the prices were very steep. read more

The owners are incredible individuals who are knowledgeable of their products and care about what they sell. They believe in well made goods, authenticity in shaping the experience of the store when you walk in, and they love the community of Auburn. They consistently change what they have so make sure to stop in when you have a chance and if you find something you love grab it. They believe in small batch well made items and they stay away from mass produced trash. Come in, support a small family owned business, and experience Auburn. read more

Greatest store for all the best/not sold on amazon/one of a kind vintage/unique pieces. I go here for all my own personal shopping and ALWAYS for the best gifts. The owners are such creative curators and the shop always looks so rad and different every time I go in. I literally find something awesome every time. I also love all the little events they have where there are live musicians/pop ups/photographers there. read more

My husband and I just moved to the area and stopped by after hearing great things about this store. We visited for the first time about a month ago and were surprised to see that the sales person was not wearing a mask. We figured it was a fluke and decided to stop by again a couple of weeks ago to grab some gifts. This time we found the owner not wearing a mask, chatting with a customer about how 'people who are high risk should just stay home' and completely downplaying the safety and importance of masks. We are 9 months into a global pandemic. This is not new. And we know that masks are effective at slowing the spread. Wear a damn mask for healthcare workers who are exhausted, patrons of your store who live with high risk persons, for your community, and for your own health. Suffice it to say, it's abundantly clear that the owner thinks he's an exception and doesn't care about the health and safety of his customers. While we do love the items here, we will not shop here again. read more

I just want to say that I loved this place and wanted it to do well. However, a few days ago I was in there getting a last minute gift. I had my mask on and every other shop I had been in was the same: masked up. It wasn't until I was checked out that I looked up and realized that the owner was not wearing a mask. I was there on my first foray into normal life in many months. I was going to a family gathering for a family member who was about to start chemo. After that I was going to visit my dad who had had heart surgery in recent months and is unbelievably susceptible to Covid. I regret not staying in the store longer only to ask for my money back. I'd like to thank the owner for making me worry for the intervening five days, constantly, that, because of him, I had unknowingly helped spread to people very important to me who are very vulnerable. I'd like to thank him for reminding me that "cool" businesses can be run by selfish jerks. I will never ever ever be back. By the way the other owner was also maskless. I can only interpret this as callous disregard for my family's wellbeing and I sincerely hope they are shut down or go out of business. If you read this, owners, please know that your actions speak. Don't shop here. They don't care about you or your family. read more

This store is AMAZING! This is not the kind of shop you find often. So thrilled it is here in our town. Designed by the owners, it showcases the extraordinary artist talents of the team. Everywhere you look its a work of art with carefully curated items of beautiful quality. And the smells...all the best smells. I keep going back for more of the candles and diffusers because I want my home to smell just like the store, though to be sure some of that is the leather goods and sweet aroma of antique wood. The owners are wonderful and the shop is wonderful! A MUST SEE! read more

One of my favorites! The store arrangement and atmosphere remind me of certain upscale shops in Breckenridge, CO. The limited floor space is well-arranged with all sorts of nooks and crannies filled with interesting stuff. As others have mentioned one can find unique casual clothing items for men and women as well as small gift items. It is always worth a visit to see what's new. read more

A beautiful shop in the heart of Downtown Auburn. You need to stop in and see it and shop! Wonderfully, thoughtfully, and artfully curated! It's a feast for the eyes. Three levels of shopping pleasure... It's so unique it's hard to describe... Maybe like visiting an art gallery mixed with cool denim and pretty dresses?? The owners are friendly and kind and make you feel welcome. They recently launched their own line of home and personal fragrance products too. Shop for clothes, accessories and more! Whatever you do, if you're in Auburn, stop by! read more

The best shopping Auburn has to offer ! Beautiful Unique One of a kind, something for everyone!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I was browsing with a friend and found a t shirt I thought I was going to buy and while looking for my size the owner came over very rudely after I found my size and grabbed the stack to fix it he seemed very annoyed. And it made me feel uncomfortable and unwanted in the store. Then while shopping I overheard a lady ask a question and he snapped at her with his answer. That was my final straw and I put my shirt back. Customer service is key and I think the owner should learn some. read more

Isn't Auburn lucky to have you, Martin Mattox? This spot is so beautifully curated and well-stocked. Everyone is friendly and personable. 2020 could use more of this vibe. Every time I stop in, I wonder how I can leave with one of everything. Lots of Auburn-inspired pieces as well. Thank you! read more

This place is amazing... the curb appeal does it no justice! The staff, the merchandise, the vibe! Very cool spot! Seems like a cool spot you'd find in SF, but it's right in little ol Auburn. I am so happy to have such a wonderful shop in town. My practice is to support local small businesses & having this unique shop close to home is an absolute blessing. I always enjoy this store, the atmosphere is great, but just a note to drop your way, if you're going to be a sales person and want to make the experience worthwhile, use some customer service skills. I dont care how your day is going or how it was unless you want to share, but make me feel welcomed. Simple as that. read more

Even though today we didn't purchase anything, this had to be one of the most amazing looking stores I've been in. I want my home to look just like this! It's inviting, interesting, hip and unique. Do yourself a favor and least stop on in!! I know I'll be back. read more

This is a really great store but beware of the return policy. I bought a t-shirt on a Sunday ( no mention it was final sale) and tried to return it on the following Tuesday. It was within the 7 day return policy and the shirt had not been worn. I was told it was final sale and I could only exchange it. read more
