A friend of my husband was in town this weekend and wanted to grab sandwiches from this place. My husband and I weren't feeling too hungry and were unsure if we were in the sandwich mood. Lucky for us, we decided to go along anyway and got two of the best subs we've had in a long time. The Lucky Seven (turkey, melted swiss, russian dressing, and coleslaw) and the Unforgiven (roast beef, melted provolone, BBQ sauce, and potato salad) were equally heavenly. The coleslaw and potato salad INSIDE the sandwich is pure genius. We ordered small subs but the next time we'll be sure to get larges. There's really not a large seating area (just a few small tables outside) so I suggest ordering to go. We actually called ahead so our subs were ready when we came to pick them up. I couldn't believe I hadn't found this place sooner. I went here once and was hooked! The whole premise behind this place was that they started out with just 7 kinds of subs you could order. But the menu has obviously grown, even if the store remains just big enough for two people to stand while they place an order. My favorite thing about this place (aside from the tasty subs) is the bread they use for the subs and the size of the subs. The bread always tastes fresh and it's soft, which I like. The size is perfect for lunch, too. A small sub from here is enough to fill me up, although at first glance my reaction was that it seemed a little too small. Once I ate it, though, my opinion quickly changed. I didn't pay for some huge sandwich I couldn't eat or didn't want. A cool quirk about this place: they make deliveries on a motorcycle. we ordered 3 different subs. i should have checked inside but got home to 3 sandwiches. they weren't even bakery quality bread. just regular grocery bread. taste was great but it's not worth $6. just wanted to try it but i'm not going back. not worth the money. read more

first, let me start by saying sandwiches are my all-time ultimately favorite food. and 7subs does an amazing job of providing a wide variety of options to satisfy any type of sandwich craving i may be having that day. 1 - the breads! they have tons of different breads to choose from, which at times can make or break a sandwich for me. i've been to places where they put a reuben on white bread. WHY? some sandwiches just deserve certain kinds of bread, and 7subs does it right. 2 - oven-toasted sandwiches! the idea that made quizno's famous, but perfected and not as expensive. 3 - sprouts! do you have any idea how hard it is to find alfalfa sprouts in a sandwich shop in boston? but they are one of my favorite fixins, so i'm super glad 7subs has 'em. yeah, it's a hole in the wall, so don't expect to sit down and eat. but other than that, 7subs is awesomely awesome. read more

I miss this place. They literally have the best tuna melt I have ever eaten in my life, and the buffalo turkey is great also. Yes the space is small, its a take out sand which place. I love this place. Been going here since it was Manhattan Sandwich shop. They had closed for a while which was a huge blow but thankfully reopened as Seven Subs. I hope they stay forever. I live nowhere near Coolidge Corner but am willing to travel for one of their delicious club sandwiches. Same guy has been there all along, good guy and I have to thank him for his commitment to keeping this place going and continuing to offer the same great sandwiches at the highest level of quality. This place rules! They have a plethora of different kinds of subs, that are so good, that I wish I was eating one right now. While they have delicious cold subs, that don't have a grill so if you are looking for a hot sub you won't find any here. Sorry steak and cheese fans, I know, I'm disappointed too. They have a few tables outside for eating, but nothing that will sit a large group of people. The inside is barely big enough to more than 3 or 4 people, so when its cold you will be bringing your food home. I can get past the limited seating because the food here is great, but I feel like its missing something without a hot sub menu. read more

Good, solid sub for relatively cheap. I had the lucky 7 on a toasted sub roll. Ready in less than 5 minutes - awesome. As other reviewers said, this is literally a hole in the wall - you can't go inside. You walk up to the half-door, order, wait on the sidewalk and they call your name in less than 5 minutes. Despite the name they actually have way more than 7 subs and they also have some salads and hot dogs which I have not tried. Best to go on a nice day when you can sit at the patio or on a bench somewhere in Coolidge to enjoy your meal. read more

Awesome subs. Not cheap, but fairly priced. I wish their portions were a bit larger, but I tend to eat more than most, so it may not be an issue. The Unforgiven (roast beef, potato salad, bbq sauce) and Lucky Seven (turkey, Russian dressing, slaw) are my go-tos. They're perfectly toasted to be crispy and soft. Tuna melts and wraps are also pretty decent. Basically take-out only. Though they have a couple patio tables set up, the seating area is right next to a parking lot, their garbage cans and the street. No worries. Order extra and take it home, cause you'll be craving more. read more

I've been eating at 7 for almost two years. This is what a sub shop should be. Great sandwiches at decent prices. The creme de la creme of subs is the Unforgiven which consists of roast beef, BBQ sauce, cheese, and potato salad (not on the side but IN the sub)...simply amazing. After reading all of these reviews we were excited to try Seven's. What we had was lackluster, to say the least. The cold cuts used on the sandwiches are...bizarre. A turkey and roast beef like I've never tasted...and not in the good way. I'll give them credit for the creativity of their sandwiches, but I'd love to see some higher quality ingredients. read more

This is a literal hole in the wall-- there are a couple tiny chairs where you can sometimes sit to wait for your order to be ready, but there is no customer-accessible indoor area and no real seating. You get your food and you go. So plan ahead if it's pouring out, or snowing, or whatever. The prices are good, the subs are great. I don't know what else to say, I love this place. They have relatively limited hours (compared to most full service restaurants in the area) and that is the only downside-- sometimes I get a ferocious Seven Subs craving but they're closed. read more

I think more people would go to this place it it were bigger and on a main street. However, the food is AWESOME. The Unforgiven is my favorite, but everything i've had is always GREAT. My only wish, is that it was bigger, and that after i step inside the door to order, i could sit and wait, rather than standing out on the street. This is my favorite sandwich shop in the area. The menu is huge, but I always go with the Brookline Club. It has something that can satisfy literally everyone, and the prices are reasonable. It can easily go overlooked being that it is just a walk up window, but don't ignore it - it's a great place. The employees are always working hard and while they're not going to chat you up they take your order quickly, and make your sandwich right every time. Don't want to wait on the sidewalk in the winter? Do what I do and call ahead 10 minutes in advance, pull up quickly with your cash in hand and they'll make the delicious trade off in 30 seconds with you. They deliver as well, but I've never utilized the service. My only complaints would be that their outdoor seating is lacking and their hot sauce isn't hot sauce at all, it's more of a chopped pepper spread, and it packs no heat whatsoever. If you love hot sauce with your sandwich, make sure to have your own ready. Otherwise, you should love this place. Their pickles are great too - but make sure to ask for one. Again, I'd recommend the Brookline Club. read more

I have been going to Seven Subs for the past year when a friend recommended it to me for the outstanding sandwiches. I have always been impressed with the the quality of their food! Their sub selection is out of this world, especially the Lucky 7 and Buffalo Melt. I HIGHLY recommend each. Their costumer service is fantastic. They are always able to accommodate your order and treat you with the highest respect. Seven Subs is the only place I will order from in the Brookline/Boston area. Consistently really good sandwiches. I like the comfort of a sandwich that reminds me of home - i get a straight forward turkey sandwich on wheat bread and it's delicious. For a sub shop, this does get as good as gets for me in this area (Brookline). I love the fact that it's sooooo small, but pumps out such GREAT food. Sure, the location is just a kitchen with a window (Gotta feel sorry for those guys in the summer....yikes). The sandwiches are delicious, not over sized portion wise, and I kinda dig the fact you're forced to sit outside, people don't spend enough time outside these days in my opinion (although, it would be nice to have a covering over the patio for rainy days and shade for the scorchers). It's a small place with big flavors. The staff have always been super nice and friendly and engage you in conversation and aren't afraid to ask you about your tastes and then make suggestions based on that.. I love a good sub, and these guys do it right with quality ingredients. Do yourself a favor, stop going to subway, and support your local sub shop. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have tried all different cafés in Brookline hoping to run into a good turkey club, but no luck until I passed by seven subs.
