I don't know why everyone goes crazy over this place. The sandwiches are ok, sure, but I feel like they really don't want customers--no seating (the dining table area is holding all their junk), they NEVER update the menu except to REMOVE things, they were over the top no contact during and well after covid, they are barely open.... Just, why? I've never had a bad experience there, I just feel like they are reluctant restauranteurs who want NO contact with their customers. Like they would prefer a return to pushing bags of food through a small hole to people who ordered online. The ham was prosciutto rather than a deli ham, and there could have been a lot more of it. However, the flavors of the pickles/butter/dijon was very well balanced. You can taste the quality of ingredients and the food comes out quickly with a friendly smile, which is a plus! What makes these sandwiches great is the ratio of ingredients to a perfectly toasted bun. I really fell in love with the Chicken Sandwich they offer on their Super Cluckin' Sunday once a month. The crispiness and meatiness of the chicken sandwich was perfect against the sauce and lettuce. The spicy goo wasn't too spicy-- there was a pleasant amount of heat. It was well-worth the wait. Amazing sandwiches located on Washington St. Perfect, small, hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop. I ordered the TJ Rabe with ham and it was delectable. Pick-up is super easy since they have a pick-up counter as their door. These sandwiches are packed with flavor. I really enjoyed the blend of cheese (provolone & fresh mozzarella) that mixed in well with the broccoli rabe. The tomato jam was a great compliment spread to the sandwich and I wouldn't have ever thought of it. Of course, the panini-style press makes any sandwich so much better with the crispy toastiness. Went here for the Super Cluckin Sunday which occurs once a month. The line wasn't too bad and it took about half an hour before I was able to order and got the sandwich soon after. It is priced about $13. The fried chicken was great and definitely worth the wait and price! This is probably the best fried chicken around Boston and it is worth the hype. read more

However, it's usually hard to miss, especially considering the line of people outside waiting to place orders or pickup their food. The menu is simple and small, but satisfying. The sandwiches are simply amazing!! All the ingredients feel very fresh. I had the Roast Beef 1000 and it was awesome. The meat was thinly sliced, fresh and very soft. Each bite has a satisfying blast of flavor from the dressing. I added some extra pickles which perfectly paired with the flavor. The rest of the group had the Greens Shallot and the Turkey 1000, and they had similar feedback. The one word we kept repeating was "fresh". I think would have been a great sandwich without it. So after hearing good things about cuttys I decided to check out for lunch. I went in, got their 1000 island beef special which looked like their best meat option. I asked for hot sauce on it and they said hot sauce you have to buy the hot pickles for 1.50...you can't just add any sauces. After waiting for a bunch I got the sandwich. Portion it was ok....I think I was still hungry afterwards. After hearing about this place in Boston Magazine, I had to try their roast beef sandwich, Beef 1000. During the pandemic, you can only order the sandwiches online or via the Toast app. The shop definitely followed good social distancing guidelines since they didn't allow anyone inside and they just handed you your order via an open window in the front door. The Beef 1000 sandwich consisted of roast beef, crispy shallots, sharp cheddar cheese, and thousand island dressing on a brioche bun. I literally digged into the sandwich within 2 minutes after I picked it up. However, my first impression was that the meat in the sandwich was cold. Is it supposed to be like that? Don't get me wrong.. the sandwich was very delicious but I was expecting the roast beef be at least warm similar to Kelly's . It is a small sandwich for $12 but the tastiness wins over the price. Wow. I've never left a review. I just ate the beef sandwich. Straight up that was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. So good. Perfect size. Very neat. Nothing spilled out of the sandwich. Not a single drip or crumb. The beef was soft, not chewy at all. Generous portion of meat. The crispy onions or whatever. Fire. Thousand island is my favorite. I added the pickled hots and it was the perfect amount of heat. The bread was soft but wasn't soggy at all. I wasn't given any napkins but I didn't need one. Whole thing just went down so easy. They made our orders incredibly fast, and even though a couple of things weren't exactly right (nothing major), they made it right even after they had officially closed. They couldn't have been nicer. The grilled Pimento Cheese was good, but our favorites were the Rabe T.J. and the Greens Shallot (and the Greens Bacon if you eat meat). The Rabe T.J. was the most surprising, a very interesting mix of ingredients, but they really know what they're doing. We also picked up their Secret Salt and Badass Taco Seasoning - haven't used them yet, but they look amazing. What a great experience - definitely a must-visit, anytime you're in Boston! read more
