They made our orders incredibly fast, and even though a couple of things weren't exactly right (nothing major), they made it right even after they had officially closed. They couldn't have been nicer. The grilled Pimento Cheese was good, but our favorites were the Rabe T.J. and the Greens Shallot (and the Greens Bacon if you eat meat). The Rabe T.J. was the most surprising, a very interesting mix of ingredients, but they really know what they're doing. I came here for lunch after a nearby appointment. The place looks clean but looks very small. I ordered the Roast Beef 1000 and the carrot+chickpea salad. The carrot+chickpea salad was delicious. It was over a bed of greens and the carrot+chickpeas had a strong taste of curry/cumin flavor to it. Supposedly they are known here for their roast beef sandwich. It comes with the following: slow-roasted beef, crispy shallots, 1000 island, sharp cheddar, brioche The sandwich bread was top notch and the quality of the inside was also great. However $10 for a roll sandwich (as opposed to a wedge) makes me contemplate on whether i should come back. The beef was also cold. Very tasty sandwiches that just hit the spot for lunch. They have all types of sandwiches from meat to vegetarian to breakfast (before 11), and you can choose from their specials or create your own. My friend got the turkey 1000, and I got the spuckie. Both were very delicious, just a bit small for the price. My sandwich tasted great, but I felt there could have been much more of the meat/toppings on the inside (see picture). You order at the counter, and then the seating is to the right of the shop. They accidentally sent my sandwich over to the seating section even though I was ordering it to go, which was a bit annoying; however I could see it being very helpful during lunch rushes to separate the pick up and order spaces. Ordering online to pick-up during Covid-19. The menu is small which makes it really simple to order online and they had it done early! They have a pick-up counter right inside their door. I ordered the Beef 1000, a delicious and tightly-packed pile of beef plus thousand island dressing and crispy shallots. I added spicy giardiniera relish for good measure. I had to move my car in back bay and had been eyeing Cutty's Instagram for awhile so decided to just make it part of circling the neighborhood for a resident spot on a Saturday morning :) best idea ever! It was a rainy day and I easily found metered parking around 10am. They have tandem coffee, lime aid, bakery items and breakfast sandwiches. I got an egg and cheese with spicy mayo and man... It was delicious! That toasted brioche. Yum! Next time I want to come for a lunch sandwich because they look amazing. There's a room where you order and a room where you can sit (or stand and a little bar at the window). I noticed you can call ahead to order if you're worried about space or time. I perched at the bar and enjoyed the ambience. A lot of nice locals sat at the tables--friends, couples, neighbors. I made a trek through the rain this afternoon to try the infamous Brookline sandwich shop, Cutty's. The place was packed but I was able to grab a table in the corner after placing my order for the notorious "Roast Beef 1000". This sandwich is the real deal: thinly sliced roast beef, thousand island sauce, cheese, and grilled shallots on a fresh bun. The sandwich came out in a timely manner - in all its glory. It wasn't too large that it was overwhelming but the perfect size to fill your stomach and leave you happy. I will definitely return to try some of Cutty's other sandwiches - I'm particularly interested in their chicken sandwich I've read so much about. Keep up the good work, Cutty's. read more

Guy Fieri from the food network came here. I spy his signature and spray painted caricature of his face on the wall. My Pork Rabe (phonetics: rahb) was excellent. Major kudos to my friend who came and introduced this place in Brookline Village; hands down the best sandwich I've eaten so far in Boston. The ceaseless influx of customers around noon is a testament that Cutty's makes damn good sandwiches. The surprising feature about the garlic sauteed broccoli rabe was it reminded me of chinese stir fried kailan. No problem-that's actually a favorite dish of mine and results in a quirky fusion for me. The pork was sliced thinly and a pleasure to eat. Too often I've encountered ham that hasn't been sliced thinly; normally the entire sandwich falls apart at an attempt to pull only a bit off. THANK YOU Cutty's. The sesame seed roll as the bread of the sandwich was a little oily from the get go, must've been toasted on a pan. I loved it--not overly hard as a baguette, sprinkled with ample sesame seeds, soft with enough crunch. It's perfect. Housemade potato chips was lightly salted and left to soak out the oil so it's not too oily. Flavors of potato are accentuated, it's definitely something to go for if all you've eaten are generic, processed potato chips. Their limeade was made right--not overly sour or too sweet to the point of losing the essence of lime. Refreshing and complimented well with the Pork Rabe. Can't wait to come here in the fall to try their "Super Cluckin' Sunday" sandwich! @ ~$11 for the rabe + drink, it is on the pricey end for a meal to eat often, but definitely worth it. read more

I just don't trust you anymore, Guy Fieri. Most places on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives fall short of expectations, including Cutty's A lot of their menu is fennel heavy. That's one of the few ingredients I dislike. Both my husband and I got the Roast Beef 1000 (slow-roasted beef, crispy shallots, 1000 island, sharp cheddar, brioche). Stop #6 on my DDD tour brings me to Cutty's, a quaint little sandwich shop in the Brookline area. I thought the high rating on Yelp plus its feature on the tv show would lead to a huge line, but it wasn't too bad and the queue moves very quickly. You pay at the counter and then wait for your order to be ready. I couldn't decide between two of the more popular sandwiches so I decided to get both and save the halves for dinner- I got the Beef 1000 and the Pork Rabe (only available on Saturdays). Cutty's sandwiches are a bit pricey for their size is justified due to the food quality. The bread was great, meats were tender, and produce fresh. Unfortunately the pork rabe wasn't for me because it was a little on the dry end, but I did like the roast beef. I did notice though that the amount of meat was a little inconsistent. My friend's beef sandwich had more meat in it than mine did. There was one more popular one that I didn't try, the Italian style Spuckie, which I will have to come back to another time! read more

I've known about Super Cluckin' Sunday for some time, but due to weather or life, this was the first time I could make it. I got there at 10:20 to a pretty long line. The guy who got there after me came back and reported it was about a 45 minute wait and left. But I was not to be deterred. He wasn't wrong. For as many people as were in line, the line does move fast. The line took 40-45 minutes, but was it worth it? Yes. I like the simplicity of super cluckin Sunday. I like that there are two options with some hand pies to add on. I went with the BBQ Ranch sandwich (kicking myself for not getting both). The chicken is tender and moist. The thin breading is where all the flavor is. It's salty and crispy and not too greasy. The bbq ranch is a pretty mild flavor. I was expecting a kick of bbq but the ranch mellows it out, and that's why I didn't give 5 stars. We came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was a great choice. We managed to beat a big crowd and walked right up to the counter to order. We come from a part of the world without a huge italian population, so I jump whenever I see broccoli rabe on the menu. To find this place had TWO sandwiches with broccoli rabe (the rabe TJ and the pork rabe)? We had to order both. Thankfully it was Saturday so we could do just that. Typically closed on Sundays, but on the first Sunday of every month, Cutty's opens for Super Cluckin' Sunday. If you didn't already guess, they open up at 10 for fried chicken sandwiches. They're open all day until the run out! As mentioned, they open at 10. I would get there earlier as a line starts forming at around 9:30. Wherever you are in line, you need not worry. The line moves fairly quickly! This past Sunday was my first Super Cluckin' Sunday so I'm not sure what they typically have on their menu. I got the BBQ Ranch fried chicken sandwich and it was downright delicious! For an extra .95 cents, you can add pickled hots (wish I had done that). What I, and many other people, got was a juicy, well seasoned piece of fried chicken with light BBQ/ranch on a sesame brioche bun. My only critique is that I wish the fried chicken was hot/freshly fried. However, I understand the demand is insane and the need to fry in bulk in the morning. Alright so let me start this by saying that I am a huge triple D fan. I had seen the episode where they go to Boston (my old stomping grounds) to go to a place called Cuttys in Brookline. Finally back in Boston this past weekend and decide to go check this joint out to see what all the hype is about. I drive on over to Brookline after another snowy day in the city and am easily able to find parking right outside the joint. Although I could see this being an issue if you are unlucky one day and there are a ton of people moving around the area as there are quite a few shops near here. We almost walk right by this joint since it is definitely a small spot. We walk into the place and there are around 6 tables total in the restaurant. I go right up to the counter and we know we are ordering the Roast Beef 1000 since Guy Fieri raved about it on the show and I went for the Pork Fennel sandwich (served only on Saturday) with limeade as our drink. The roast beef 1000 is a really solid sandwich with the roast beef being super juicy and the thousand island sauce adding a nice flavor to it without being overpowering. The bread was soft on the sandwich also and all the flavors just complimented each other really well. Definitely worth all the praise out there. The pork fennel sandwich was another solid choice. The slow roasted pork was super tender and juicy and the pickled fennel added a nice contrast for flavor from the acidity and texture. Both of these sandwiches are the types of sandwiches I would crave in the bay area as I have still not found a joint that is solid. After we finished our sandwiches we even debated ordering another one to go because it was just that good. My only regret about this place is that I had not found it sooner when I was living in Boston because I would have come here all the time. I really want to try their Super Cluckin Sundays (one Sunday a month, all they serve is a fried chicken sandwich starting at 10am) but ended up coming early Saturday morning at 8:30am for a breakfast sandwich. I've always been a fan of their sandwiches, but what makes me want to give them five stars is their breakfast menu. Today, I ordered their breakfast sandwich and pastries for the first time and I am extremely satisfied. My friend recommended their scrambled egg sandwich with truffle ketchup. I was skeptical of the truffle ketchup at first but I am glad I ordered it because it works very well with the sandwich. I ordered their Texan Kolaches as well - one of each flavor (raspberry, lemon poppyseed, cheese, and I forgot the fourth one). My favorite out of the four is raspberry, of course. Balance. I ordered a Torta (per the recommendation of a co-worker) and am so grateful for doing so. Confidently, it was a top 3 sandwich of my life. They did it! They nailed it! I got one... Boom! Gone! Followed up with a flawless chocolate chip cookie that didn't even need to be chewed. So buttery. So plush. But still firm and stable? Good Lord! Naturally, it was time for the second Torta. I was able to better understand its components the second go-around. And that's when it became evident that they achieved genuine fusion with a subtle sesame essence. When I heard about Cutty's exclusive fried chicken sandwich, I made my boyfriend stand in line one Sunday with me to get it. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. However, we were both underwhelmed by Popeye's chicken sandwich as well so maybe we are just hard to please. Daisy Chow (who I follow on Instagram- @breadboard_bakery) bakes kolaches, amazing chocolate cake with decadent chocolate frosting, chocolate chip cookies, etc. My coworkers and I moseyed on over to Cutty's last Friday and ordered lunch and a variety of desserts. I had mistakenly already ate lunch before coming so I ordered 1 pecan kolache and a chocolate chip cookie. I don't know why kolaches aren't as popular in the north. I hear some great things about their special, once a month, chicken sandwiches. It was a cold winter's day, and I came here before 11am and there was a line way out the door. I think I waited 20-30min outside and then another 10-15min inside. But once you place your order, your sandwich comes out fast like less than 5 min fast. I think I spent $50 on 4 sandwiches. They had the original golden BBQ and the ranch BBQ. I liked the golden BBQ one better. I didn't think either were out of this world. Definitely not wait outside in the freezing cold. Maybe if I was walking by and the smell lured me inside, 5 min kind of thing then sure. I will say that the sandwiches are pretty big but then again they are pretty pricey. I was excited to try Cutty's after seeing all the great reviews and pictures of the food here. My brother and I got our sandwiches to-go to enjoy a nice picnic in the park nearby. He ordered the Ham Pimento and I got the Egg Salad Radish sandwich with a request for toasted bread. We unwrapped them and exposed two sandwiches with over toasted, cardboard-like bread with not that much filling inside. We tried eating them, but we couldn't even finish them because both sandwiches were so hard to eat. For $16, we were pretty disappointed. I'm sure the sandwiches would have been presented better if we ate in the restaurant, but take-out orders should have the same kind of quality. I've been coming to Cutty's for years now but yesterday was the first time I woke up early enough with enough energy to brave the Super Cluckin' Sunday lines. Slipped in line at 9:50am (10 minutes before opening) and had my two BBQ chicken sammies in hand by around 10:35am -- yes, the line is that long, although honestly it moved more quickly than I expected. The two sandwiches, one with spicy goo, came out to be $26. The chicken was delightfully crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside, despite the large breast cut. The spicy goo could have been spicier, and I wish the minced lettuce had been full leaf lettuce just for an additional crunch factor. The sesame brioche bun was lovely and fluffy though, and just a tad sweet which countered with the savory chicken nicely. Overall, I think this is one of the best if not the best fried chicken sammie in Boston. That being said, given it's only offered once / month with a 40 minute wait, I'm not sure I'll be coming back every month. Delicious, though! read more

They have different sandwiches depending on the time/day (some breakfast sandwiches that are only served during breakfast, some sandwiches special on weekend days). Most of their sandwiches are under $10 before tax and it's super affordable because you will get full off of 1/2 of the sandwich, but you'll just want to keep eating because it's so delicious. Stopped in during the lunch rush on a Tuesday in July. I got a parking spot right in front but I could see where it might be hard to find (metered) parking around here at times. I will say that this neighborhood is extremely difficult to navigate; the GPS had me going around in circles looking for this address. I ordered two sandwiches; the Beef 1000 and the Rob TJ (because I'm a sucker for DDD and those are what they featured on the show; the Pork Fennel was also featured but is only available on Saturdays). I also ordered the homemade chips. I ate in the side room which was nice enough (they have tables and some stand-up bar areas) but the tables were all very dirty and I didn't see anyone coming around to clean them the whole time I was there. On the other hand, the bathroom was sparkling clean. The Rob TJ was rather large and surprisingly good for a vegetarian sandwich. The Beef 1000 was very good, but just a tad on the smallish side. The beef 1000 also suffered from having all the beef piled in the middle, with empty bread out towards the edges of the roll, a pet peeve of mine. I'm assuming that this is an expensive area, so a $10 sandwich is not unreasonable. If I lived nearby, I would definitely try to work my way through the rest of the menu. read more

The girl at the counter recommend the "spuckie" which is basically the equivalent of an Italian sandwich. It was amazing, everything is fresh, from the bread to the sliced meats. No, my friends, this is your lucky day. Cutty's sandwiches are simple, elegant and absolutely delectable. With Iggy's bread playing catcher to their every pitch, it's a no-fail partnership. The Spuckie hangs overstuffed Italian hoagies by the hemmed cuffs of their pinstripe trousers, and their Banh Mi special had me glad I shelled out $8 for a $3 C-Town standard. Don't worry, Mei Sum - nothing but love for ya. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they make all the sauces, spreads and sides in house, as well as cure and roast their meats. The dining area is small, and rightfully so. This business is about the craft of the sandwich, about feeding your faces with fresh, textured food so intoxicating, you'll want to scarf it down right there, but for Dagwood's sake, take it to go.
