My group came here for a birthday and we ordered the Na Tang- reminded me of larb served with puffed rice crackers which was a nice touch Hae Kang (sp?) which was Cambodian sausage with beancurd wrapped outside served with fish sauce. Nicely executed. Strange flavor beef with mushrooms and onions-the strange flavor is actually satay sauce and had the right amount of salt and sweet and thickness Half a peking duck-it doesn't get cut in front of everyone and the amount was very small. Glad it came with a side of crepes to roll it in instead of baos and with the sauce and scallions and cucumber. I can't rate the food because I turned around and got back in the car after looking through the window only to see that you are now a store front take-out joint. I must say, that is a terrible move, Seven Moons. It was peak lunchtime on a weekday and not a customer was in sight. Sad, sad, sad. I hate to see businesses fail but Seven Moons Asian Restaurant has all but ensured failure with this poor business decision. Listen up, SM: People chose eating at YOUR restaurant in your old location because, mainly, you had wonderful food and drink and because you had two bars, a private party room and spacious dining rooms with sit down service and a sushi bar. Seven Moons is practicing safety during the COVID times. They had been doing curbside and take out but just recently opened up for in house dining. We made a reservation for 11:45 am on a Friday, and it was great. They took us in the back, where every other booth was open for use, and they had tables lined up down the aisle so you were socially distanced from the other side. The servers all wore masks but were still friendly and efficient. We started with an order of crab Rangoon, (Crab Rangoon Made one at a time in our kitchen,We sell thousands every week) tag line $9.25 which came out piping hot with their awesome sauce. One of the best 2 in RI! (Lemongrass in Warwick has the equivalent great crab rangoon and sauce) I ordered the lunch special of spicy pork with vegetables (spicy Pork In Garlic Sauce, fresh Mushrooms,Water chestnuts, Broccoli, Carrots, Celery in Spicy Garlic Sauce.) $8.75. I opted for white jasmine rice, an upgrade to wonton soup, and it came with 2 small chicken wings. The portion was appropriately lunch sized and the won ton soup was pretty good. However, between the appetizer and the soup, I ended up bringing my main course home. BF enjoyed that for dinner! My friend got the pad Thai lunch special where she picked Pork Pad Thai, and a vegetable nime chow. She also had to bring some home as it's just a lot of food. Not complaining. Just commenting. I do like it here and its been 6-7 months since I came here. I know it's always there and I am sorry I don't live closer to it. If you want to walk into a completely empty disheveled restaurant with peeling paint and ripped up seats then definitely recco! First off, the first item to arrive was completely cold soup (might I add the worst miso soup I've had in about 3 years). The waitress forgot our salads and brought mains before our appetizers even arrived. The fish from the sushi bar was not fresh nor were the vegetables hot for the hibachi meal. We were without power due to the hurricane and when the first night rolled around, we knew we had to get out of here and check into a hotel that had AC, lights, and a flushing toilet. We looked up dog friendly hotels and ended up at a hotel just down the street from here. We knew right away that we were going to order take out from Seven moons since it was less than 2 min from where we were staying. Damn, I remember it being good but it was SO SO GOOD! Really hate to write this review as we have been patrons since they opened. Hot and sour soup was cold when I got it home (2 miles). The wings in the pu pu platter were dry and overcooked. Had to throw them out. Same with what was supposed to be crab rangoons, my wife almost broke a tooth and they were tossed. Chicken fried rice had shrimp in it, not good as my daughter has a seafood allergy and so we had to throw that out (I checked our order receipt and it had Chicken).... Sesame chicken just looked weird, overly dark color and not very tasty. And now my stomach is feeling queasy. Uh oh.... This place has always been great, and I do enjoy the food. However, the last time we were there I had to listen to the MANAGER discussing her gynecological visit or childbirth while we were eating dinner. I absolutely do not want to hear about "forceps" and "suctioning" while I am eating. When I said something to waitress (who was wonderful) I made a joke of it and said "well I'd like that to stop" and then we laughed it off. As I was leaving, the manager said "sorry I offended you" and proceeded to berate me and tell ME not to come back to this "high end restaurant". It's a fusion restaurant (Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese) so the menu is oversized - roughly 10 pages - and that was my first cue that this might disappoint. I was not wrong... I did take out, was told 15-20 minutes.. I ordered a variety of things at a fair price and when I got there it wasn't busy inside in the hallway but the phones were blowing up. They had two people taking orders and the phone was still ringing. They rang me out, and I wish I noticed earlier but they have bubble tea at this location. I ordered some nim chow, sweet potato sushi, crab rangoons and wanton soup. Nim chow was so good with the peanut sauce. Seven moons has been around for a long time. It's a very popular restaurant in the south county area. They are known for their Chinese food and sushi. I believe they switched owners recently. I've been here a handfull of times and it's usually busy. The service and food is good. As for the food, I really like their sushi but the regular Chinese food is ok. My favorite dish is the orange chicken; there were real chunks of oranges which makes its flavorful and tangy. The scorpion bowl was good and strong. For the most part, I usually order sushi when I dine there. The inside is very spacious and clean. They did a nice job with the decor. There are tables where you can take off your shoes and sit very low to the floor. The sushi bar is pretty large and provides fresh sushi. They also have a little bar and the bartenders makes the drinks pretty good and strong. There are tons of tables to accommodate large crowds and peak hours. The parking lot is also spacious. Overall, it's an ok chinese food place with good sushi. I would give it a 3 1/2 stars if I could. read more

Sometimes when you go to a place you like over and over, you try to write a review. In your head you have a million things you can think of that you like, but when it comes time to write the review, you can think of what to start with. This is the case with Seven Moons. I've been to so many Chinese restaurants, and this place has caused me to completely forget them. My girlfriend and I were in Woonsocket the other day, and she asked if I wanted to go to Asia Grille in Lincoln. Before trying Seven Moons for the first time, the answer would have been a definite yes, but one thing that sits in the back of my mind is the GD crab rangoons! Let's face it, I read the Yelp tips and reviews on this place and studied it well before my first encounter and had to give into the hype. The rangoons themselves are just slightly above the rest, and you can tell without reading the menu that they are in fact handmade. It doesn't stop there though... They give you some crazy modified peach flavored duck sauce to go with it. Honestly, I have thought of just drinking this sauce out of the cup, it's so damn good! But wait, I haven't touched the Scorpion Bowl. One thing that used to disgust me about Asia Grille was the fact that they chose not to dishwash the bowls in favor of keeping the paint on the side of the bowls intact. Instead, they "handwash" them. Because of this, their bowls have a dirty residue on the inside. Not at Seven Moons though. They favor the cleanliness over the look of the bowl which is more important. Not only that, the drink tastes unlike any Scorp I've had, kind of like a orangey, peach flavor that keeps you wanting more. They present it with the flame. It's clear that whoever is managing the bar is training their employees how to properly make drinks. Strong drinks dot mean a better drink, and this is carefully displayed here! The food is incredible! So far, I've tried General Tso's chicken, Pad Thai, Double Sizzlin' Chicken, LETTUCE WRAPS!!, and Shanghai Noodle. Yep, the lettuce wraps are the bomb! I haven't had the sushi before, but they do have an extensive menu for it, including Bento boxes. Also, you can sit Japanese style at one of the tables in a private seating area. Again, haven't done it yet, but I'm sure it's pretty cool. Sorry to be so lengthy, but again, this place is great! I just don't get what everyone else likes about this place. On my most recent visit, our server was very courteous and efficient, which is a good start. I've had a few different hand rolls here, they were good but not spectacular. This time I tried some more standard Asian fare. The Chive dumplings weren't cooked all the way, leaving a gooey dough clinging to the chive filling. The filling of the Pork dumplings was dense and rubbery. Schezwan chicken is supposed to be spicy, even says so on the menu. You can see what looks like red pepper flakes in the sauce, but it's lost in the dish, I've had oatmeal with more heat. Its unfortunate too, because the chicken was cooked nicely, and the pea pods still had a little snap. The lo mien dish was decent, not as good as Green Tea, when they were still around, but decent enough. The pasta was a bit overcooked, and the sauce is too sweet. But I still ate it. All in I'd give them a C+. So why is it that there are people parking in a lot across the street, and risking death running the 5 lanes of traffic to get in here? Don't do it folks, this part of Rt1 is deadly. If you must, there's a couple of vacant lots just south of the restaraunt, on the same side. read more

There was a recent shift in management and I'm convinced they don't know how to cook Thai food. The pad Thai is so greasy and lacks all the authentic flavors that go into pad Thai. I'm pretty sure they use canned vegetables in their dishes. I've been to so many Thai/Asian restaurants and this is perhaps the worst one I've been to, in terms of food. Seven moons has been a staple in our restaurant lives. We loved that their food seemed to be better quality than other similar establishments. We don't live close so we don't go as much as we used to. That being said, boy were we disappointed at our recent visit. My daughter's favorite lettuce wraps used to be amazing. Now they fill the meat with chopped up rice noodles and try to blend it in. It should be all ground chicken and veggies. I will never pay for those cheap imitation wraps. The boneless spareribs used to be a lean strip of ribs sliced up. They now are no different than every other cheap Chinese place. Fatty and greasy. And 2 shrimp on the Nime chow instead of 4. We ordered take out tonight. We've been to Seven Moons dozens of times but the quality seems to go down yearly. My son and husband got bento boxes and I got lettuce wraps. The lettuce for both salads and the wraps was horribly browned. We threw out both salads and I dumped the lettuce wrap filling into a bowl and used my own (not disgusting!) romaine leaves for my wraps. This lettuce should not have been served-it was noticeably brown and gross. I honestly wouldn't even feed it to my guinea pig. Anyone who likes the food here really must go to Chinatown in Boston or NYC to try real Chinese food. This food is not only the Americanized version of Chinese food, but it is also poorly done Americanized Chinese food. The food is very greasy, the texture of the noodle dishes is verging on soggy and cooked so all the flavors merge together into one greasy soggy bland taste. The chicken fingers which should have a light fluffy dough around white chicken, are so greasy that when you bite into them you need a napkin for all the grease that explodes out of them. Also the pieces of chicken inside the chicken fingers are tiny so it is more like popcorn chicken. The waitstaff is also very poorly trained. Not rude but just don't know how to wait tables. Seven moons is a good place to stop for lunch, the food is always consistently good, the menu has a good variety and the atmosphere is nice. If there's a wait you can usually snag a bar seat pretty easily. This place is certainly pretty good, but it fails to stand out above the rest of the crowd in any particular way. I certainly recommend this place if you're in the mood for Asian food, but I don't really have a specific meal that I would recommend here, and I've never been floored by a visit. To be honest though, I've also never had a bad visit! This place is dead on consistent and a good bet if you want to know exactly the quality food you'll get and not worry about things changing up on you suddenly. read more

I ordered the kong pho chicken from the lunch menu, the hot and sour soup was just okay and the wings were good. The KP chicken was beyond bad, over cooked to the point of like biting rocks. No one came to ask about food so I waited for the check and told the waiter why I could not eat my lunch. He said that he would tell the cook, no response. My wife and I have come here a few times. One time I ordered one of the lunch specials (combination plate); it was just ok. However, the pad thai has been consistently good. It's not spicy, which we like. My wife loves the vegetable paid thai, and I like doing a combination of vegetable and beef. If you get one thing at Seven Moons get the Nime Chow. Ask for extra peanuts on the side. That dish is worth the price of admission. The menu at Seven Moons is like a Russian novel--way too long. You can lose yourself going thru all the options, most of which are slight variations on other dishes. Check out the Pad Thai and the sushi. Both are ok bets, kind of. The Pad Thai is good but it does have an oily undertaste and I've had a strange taste linger in my palate after eating here. Which is why I don't come here regularly. In terms of sushi, I would stay away from the raw fish, which is why I recommend the Spicy Scallop roll, baked scallop with a dollop of spicy sauce that provides a nice kick. The Mexican roll is a good bet if you like tempura sushi. Nothing mindblowing in terms of flavor but acceptable. In the future I'll probably just get the Nime Chow and the complimentary pot of green tea (ask for it). read more
